and some roommates (don't worry we're cool!)

Right about now would be the perfect time for a roommate. Ochako had finished up her side of the room. It was almost entirely pink and white, the sad beige walls being the only thing in the room that offset the color scheme. She had brought her favorite bed set from back home, it included her pink sheets, pink and white striped comforter with bows, pink pillow cases and of course her childhood teddy bear, Floaty. Below the bed was a pink shaggy rug and white storage bins which held her precious clothes. She had fairy lights and polaroids pinned up all over her side of the room, giving the space a little bit more whimsy. She was happy with her side but couldn’t say the same about the opposite side of the room, it was bland and blank and she couldn’t help but frown.

The bags had been there since she moved in on Monday. It had been almost a week, with today being Saturday and no sign of her mysterious roommate. There was one blood red suitcase and two black duffel bags, Ochako had been tempted to snoop through them but she didn’t want her roommate to hate her for invading their privacy.

She just couldn’t help wondering who her roommate was. Not just their name but what they were like. What was their favorite color? Favorite Romcom? Bestest friend? Childhood crush? More than anything Ochako wanted to know why they didn’t just stay and set up their dorm. She wished she was more like her best friend Izuku, who seemed to have answers for all her anxieties. She brushed away her thoughts of self doubt and sat down on her bed, pulling out her phone.

Speak of the devil.

Izuku Midoriya
3 Missed Calls.

When did that happen?
She clicked on the notification and quickly pressed call back.

Izuku’s voice immediately attacked her from the other side of the call.

“Ochako stop moping or I’m going to come over there and unpack those bags myself.” Izuku demanded, his voice noticeably louder than his normal volume.

“You can’t do that, it’s an invasion of privacy!” Ochako argued, her voice was whiney like a child and she cringed inwardly at herself.

“Boohoo, maybe your roommate shouldn’t have ditched you.”

“They didn’t ditch me, their bags are right here.”

“Doesn’t make it much better ‘chako.”

Ochako went silent, trying to decide what to say before Izuku interrupted her thoughts,

“Come to a party with me.” He said simply as if it was something they’d done a million times before.

“Huh?” Ochako asked, not sure if she was hearing Izuku right.

Throughout all of his high school years Izuku hated parties and tried his very best to avoid them. What changed? Ochako could sense an ulterior motive behind his plans. He was always up to something.

“I said, come to a party with me.” Izuku repeated, his confidence wavering.

“What are you planning?” She accused, slightly curious and slightly scared.

“Nothing just come to the party,” Ochako could hear voices coming from Izuku’s phone, he probably had Shoto and Iida over. “I’ll send the address.”

Then Ochako heard the beep of Izuku hanging up. Guess she was going to a party now.

The last time she had gone to a party was sophomore year of high school. It was her idea and Izuku was down, desperate to meet new friends. Izuku was a very social guy, and Ochako tended to just stay behind him and greet everyone he talked to with a smile on her face. The party was fine until Izuku started drinking. Ochako was in the bathroom when it happened but according to multiple eyewitnesses, Izuku hit on a random guy which resulted in a yelling fight between the two. After that Izuku never wanted to go to a party again, so neither did she. What had changed?

She heard a ding on her phone and looked down at it, still resting in her hand. Izuku sent the address and said he would be around by 8pm to pick her up. That left her 2 hours to get ready. She immediately set off to pick out the cutest outfit she could find.

After two hours she settled on a look for the party. A pink lace tank top with a white shrug sweater on top and a cute white skirt finished with pink leg warmers as well as her favorite white mary janes. She braided two sections of her hair in the front before gathering it all into a ponytail and finishing it off with a pink bow. Her makeup was clean and natural with highlight and blush and a little bit of glittery eyeshadow to make her eyes pop. She posed in the mirror, taking pictures while waiting for her best friend to come pick her up.

When Izuku arrived he texted Ochako to come down to the parking lot, when she made it to the car, he complimented her outfit.

“Who are you trying to impress?” He asked jokingly, eyeing her up and down.

“Not all of us wear just jorts and a shirt.” She replied giggling, clearly making fun of his style.

He made an offended face and shook his head before putting the car into gear, heading off into the direction of the party. Izuku’s bright green hair was left messy as always but he at least managed to wear a nice green sweater instead of a tee shirt today. He wore his favorite pair of jorts with a star studded belt and his signature red shoes. His look was okay-ish today.

When she was done inspecting Izuku’s style her brain reminded her of the one thing she had been trying not to think about for the past couple of hours, her mysterious roommate. Maybe they would be here tonight. Maybe Ochako was getting her hopes too high. She played with her hair, gently braiding some loose strands to keep her mind at bay.

Ochako had barely even noticed they arrived until Izuku let out a deep breath.

“Are you ready for this?” He asked, looking genuinely curious about her answer.

“You know me,” She said softly before continuing, “I’m always ready.”

Izuku let out a chuckle and opened his door, Ochako did the same. The cool breeze of an August night calmed her, the loud music coming from the giant house across the street however, did not.

As Ochako and Izuku walked closer to the house the more it started to smell like beer and body odor. People seemingly passed out in the yard and barbies on the barbecue. The music was dizzyingly loud and all of her senses were overwhelmed. Why did people like partying? This seemed like a terrible way to spend her Saturday night. Izuku opened the front door for her and she made her way in, eyes scanning the large crowd for any familiar faces.

“Izuku!” Yelled a voice from the crowd and both Ochako and Izuku whipped their heads around to find the source of the sound.

A red head emerged from the crowd, he smiled at both of them before talking directly to Izuku.

“Hey dude, I’m sooo glad you could make it,” He said, slinging his arm around Izuku and leading him somewhere, “Bakubro is gonna be so happy to see you.”

Ochako raised her eyebrow at Izuku and he smiled sheepishly, mouthing the words “sorry” before continuing his conversation with the boy.

The guy had very red and very spiky hair, he wore a baggy shirt with colorfully loud graffiti print and large baggy jeans. You could barely see his shoes but Ochako knew they were skating shoes. She followed behind the two as the redhead slowly led Izuku to the backyard of the house onto a wooden deck where a large group of people were sitting.

Izuku fit right in with everyone, greeting them all and smiling. Ochako stood behind him, waving and trying her best to greet everyone, wishing she was even just a little more like her friend.

“Oh. My. God.”

Ochako turned to face the woman who had just spoken and was met with a beautiful sight. She had pink curly hair, and was wearing a gold dress that perfectly fit her body. Ochako smiled at the woman before the woman continued talking.

“I love your outfit so much, the pink is just too cute.” She said, motioning towards Ochako’s outfit, “we need to be friends like right now girl.”

Ochako let out a giggle and felt heat rush to her cheeks. This girl was very blunt and she wasn’t used to getting compliments like that.

“Thank you so much! What’s your name?” She asked, face still flushing from the sudden attention.

“Mina Ashido!”

The name sounded vaguely familiar to Ochako. Maybe Izuku had mentioned it in passing?

“Well it’s nice to meet you Mina, I’m Ochako,” She said, introducing herself before continuing, “I’m here with Izuku but I don’t know where he ran off to.”

Ochako looked around the deck full of people, she couldn’t spot Izuku’s bright green hair anywhere. Odd.

“Oh he’s probably off with Bakugo, you know him!” Said Mina cheerfully, gesturing off into the crowd.

Yeah, she did know Izuku, but she also had never heard of any “Bakugo”. That explains the sudden want to go to a party. She needed to find Izuku and do some questioning. Did he have a secret boyfriend that she didn’t know about? Best friends don’t keep secrets.

She awkwardly laughed in response before excusing herself from Mina, on a search to find Izuku. She made her way through the sliding glass back doors and was met with a room full of loud music and people dancing.

“You can kiss 100 boys in bars”

“Shoot another shot try to stop the feeling”

“You can say it’s just the way you are”

“Make a new excuse, another stupid reason”

The music was pulsing through Ochako’s head as she pushed through crowds of people all infected with the smell of alcohol and sweat. She continued searching the crowd for a certain green haired boy, eventually seeing a flash of his hair.

“Good luck babe! (well good luck)!”

“Well good luck, babe! (well good luck)!”

Izuku was currently making out with a random guy, his hair sticking up in all sorts of directions. Ochako couldn’t help but feel a little hurt. They were best friends, why didn’t Izuku tell her he liked someone? She felt her eyes gather liquid and tried to blink the tears away with no success. Her feet started moving and her arms started pushing through the crowd until she made her way to a slightly less crowded hallway. Her mind was racing and she pushed open the first door she could find.

Two naked girls.

Ochako really shouldn’t have opened that door.

“I am so so so sorry!” She said, closing her eyes and feeling for the door behind her. She knew her face had to be fully red at this point

Giggles came from the two girls and Ochako opened her eyes, they were both in the process of putting on their clothes. Ochako didn’t think she’d ever seen a more beautiful girl than the one staring at her. Her blond hair was messy and wavy but it looked so soft and shiny like Ochako could just run her hands through it. Her smile was the cutest thing Ochako had ever seen, her teeth were little fangs and she looked almost like a vampire. Her body was perfect and her skin looked silky smooth and almost sickly pale. Ochako hadn’t even realized she was staring until the girl winked at her and Ochako froze up, slowly walking out the door.

When she was finally out of the room she ran to find Izuku, he was still making out with Bakubro or whatever his name was.

“Izuku we are leaving now.” She said sternly, pulling Baku something off of him.

“Yo what’s your problem?” Yelled the now angry blond, his hair was spiky and aggressive just like him.

“Bakugo stop, that's my friend.” Izuku said, sending a sorry look at Ochako.

Normally she would’ve just backed down and insisted Izuku take her home, however, now she was in a shitty mood.

“What’s my problem?” She asked incredulously before continuing, “ My problem is you! My problem is I want to be home! My problem is my roommate hates me and my problem is that you’re stopping Izuku from taking me home!”

Both Izuku and Bakugo were quiet, Ochako could feel the eyes in the room slowly starting to fixate on her.

“Can we just go Izuku?” She pleaded, her eyes welling up with tears.

He nodded and grabbed her hand, quickly leading her out of the crowd that was now almost silent. What a way to end a party.
