Chapter 4
Augustine wakes up to a voice calling his name.
“—ggie. Auggie.”
There’s a small pause as
“Augustine, wake up!”
Augustine groans, and sits up. He is met with the sight of a pair of familiar blue eyes.
Augustine’s eyes widen before coming to the realization that he is tangled with Winnie in Winnie’s bed.
Augustine’s heart almost stops and he blushes before fully waking up.
“What time is it?”
“We have two hours till we have to get to school.”
“Two hours? Win, what on earth would make you wake me up this early?!”
Winnie tilts his head to the side before saying,
“Well, we have to find clothes for you that fit, we have to eat breakfast and get ready for the day. Then we have to walk to the bus station and get to school.”
Augustine rolls his eyes.
“Why can’t we just skip?”
“Because we have, like, four tests today, and I can’t take them tomorrow. I’m not so sure about you though, Auggie.”
Winnie gets out of bed and Augustine misses the proximity immediately. God, get a hold on yourself Augustine!, he thinks as Winnie retreats to the bathroom across the hall.
Augustine starts to go through Winnie’s closet. Sadly, he couldn’t find anything to wear.
