After they shared a tender kiss in the flat after Lisa had told Carla that she had feelings for her, they smiled at each other shyly as neither could believe that this was actually happening.

" Lisa are you definitely sure that this is something that you want to do? I mean I have never been with a woman until I met you half the time I don't really know what I am doing and I have a lot of baggage."

"Yes Carla, I am sure that this is what I want I never thought after Becky that I could be happy again. It's ok that you don't really know what you are doing, you did a very impressive job the first time we slept together (Carla blushes) and everyone has baggage. I know all about the men that you have been with and it won't scare me away."

They smiled and hugged at each other and did not want to let go but they knew they needed to as Lisa's mobile rang.

" Hey Bets, what's up? I am with Carla at the moment, was thinking of leaving here in a few minutes unless you want to come over here as Carla wants to speak to you about something anyway to do with the factory. We will also have takeaway when we leave and you can choose what you want. ok yeah see you in 15 minutes "

She hung up the phone and smiled to herself, thinking that they can tell Betsy about them. She looked over at Carla who was slouched over the kitchen counter as she got a bit dizzy due to only just being released from hospital. Lisa rushed to her side immediately and took her over to the couch so that she could get comfortable and relax.

" you need to take it easy I don't want you falling over on me now that we have just got together, you need to look after yourself Carla, I will help you to do things until Bets gets here and then she can be helpful. " She placed Carla's feet on the sofa and draped a blanket over her legs and then made a cup of tea for Carla. Lisa then sat down opposite Carla so that they could see each other and Lisa put her feet up so that her legs were touching Carla's. They decided that they were going to play a game where they could get to know each other a little bit better.

Carla went first:
" What made you want to become a detective sergeant?"

Lisa looked shocked as wasn't sure why Carla wanted to ask that question.

"Well I guess my parents were both police officers and I wanted to follow in their footsteps however I decided that I wanted to go further so applied for detective then when I met my wife Becky she encouraged me to go further to Detective sergeant hence why I have that name now "

Lisa was up next:

" This is quite a personal question. When did you realise that you liked women and when did you realise that you had a crush on me?"

" I guess I have always known deep down that I liked women, it was just hard for me to embrace it as my parents were not the easiest to accept anyone like that, they were very homophobic so I was scared to come out to them, I think the first time that I met you it kind of opened it back up for me again and I started to have a crush on you the day that we met in the car and I tried to console you about Betsy and made assumptions that you soon put me right lol. I didn't think that you liked me like that".

They shared a smile together and they were interrupted by the phone to the flat going off, they both assumed that it was Betsy, so Lisa got up and allowed her into the flat.

"Hey Bets, how was work today? come and sit down."

"Yeah work was ok just an average day at the knicker factory, everyone was asking about Carla and wants to come over and see her, they are also interested about who did this so a lot of gossip is going round."

Carla laughed.

" That sounds about right let me guess it was Sally that started the gossip mill. Glad that you are enjoying working there, also I have decided that I want to offer you an internship that is paid and you will be learning everything you need to know from me so that one day you can maybe run your own factory or even be assistant manager at this one"

" Thanks Carla I would absolutely love that, also mum when are we eating as I am starving?"]

Lisa was shocked about what Carla was offering.

"Thank you so much Carla that is so sweet, my little girl is doing something that she loves because of you and I cannot thank you enough for the opportunity. Betsy we are eating in a minute I will go out and get takeaway but Carla and I have something that we want to say to you"

" Carla and I have decided to give it a go"
" And they say romance is dead"
They look at each other
" What you two?"
"mmm, we did, so I think we should celebrate"
" Excellent pepperoni feast with stuffed crust, dough balls, fries, strawberry milkshake and chocolate ice cream cheers"
"ha wasn't expecting that but yeah ok go with the flow"
" Well you can go and get it"
" Well I will need your card."
"On second thoughts I'll go, any preference?"
"Surprise me"
"Okay".
Carla and Lisa look at each other and smile.
Lisa then gets up and asks her daughter if she is happy about it and Carla laughs and says why wouldn't she be I am ace and her boss.
" Right see you in a minute. "
Lisa grabs her coat and phone and looks at both Carla and her daughter before she leaves the flat.
Carla and Betsy have the conversation about what happened at the factory and that Carla promises to keep it a secret unless something like that happens again.
Just as Betsy gets the napkins and the plates Lisa returns with Betsy's huge order and a pizza for her and Carla to share.

A couple of hours later they have all finished and it is time for Betsy and Lisa to go home for the evening, Betsy says thank you to Carla and thanks her for having her over and then leaves to allow the love birds to say a proper goodbye.

Lisa approaches Carla and pulls her in for a hug by her waist and places her forehead against the brunettes and they look into each others eyes which seems to both of them but it is only about 30 seconds. Carla leans forward and places her lips to Lisa's and kisses them gently before deepening the kiss. Lisa allows herself to be pulled further into the kiss and wants to place her tongue inside the brunettes mouth so seeks permission by gazing into her eyes which is given by Carla. They are like this until Carla has to break away for air.
" Wow that was amazing, glad I decided to give you a second chance missus"
" Me too I am glad, I really have to go now"
"ok , speak later "
Lisa nods and places a chaste kiss on the lips before departing the flat looking back and smiling at the beautiful brunette.
Carla smiles to herself before she goes to bed being the happiest she has been in a long time.
