XCOM Alert
As of 0800 hours today, you have been chosen by the council of nations to lead the task form known as XCOM
Goodluck Commander
The Commander lets out a weary sigh as he looks over the files provided to him by Bradford. They wondered how they were chosen from everyone out there to combat the new threat, aliens were apparently very much a thing. The grey face in the picture stared at him, a glowing wrist type weapon glowing as it aims for the man behind the camera.
He takes another long sip from his now cold coffee as he opens a different folder about the resources and personal made available to him.
Moira Vahlen, from Germany, something of a prodigy who studied a wealth of subjects from Physics to xeno-biology, even respected by the Soviets and The Empire.
Raymond Shen, an engineer from The Empire Of The Rising Sun, a man who worked on their many mechanized military units.
Bradford, an intelligence officer during the Yuri campaign, now serving as their... assistant?
"Commander to the Situation Room, Commander to the Situation Room"
The Commander glances to the clock on the wall and huffs as he gets out of his chair, heading towards the giant hologram of the world. Bradford leans over a man pointing to a screen as he says something to him before his eyes catch The Commander approaching, giving a slight jog upto them.
"Commander we have some boogies sighted in France, the team is currently assembled and awaiting the go ahead." He informs the commander as he points to the large monitor with 4 people standing at attention, behind them was some sort of aircraft he hadn't seen before. The group consisted of 2 Peacekeepers, an Imperial Warrior, and a Tesla Trooper, it wasn't the worst team but...
"Only four people?" he questions Bradford who gives them a nervous look
"Its the only people we have currently... we have a pool of recruits for you to choose from though"
"Right... launch the team" The Commander orders.
Shen and Vahlen come into the room as Bradford changes cameras to an aerial view of the town.
"We have a group of drones in the sky recording the surroundings for a tactical view" Shen announces.
"The town itself had a small Allied garrison, they reported unusual readings before everything went quiet." Vahlen tells the Commander
Samuel peers carefully from behind his shield as he advances, Michael just shortly behind him with his shotgun ready to fire at a moments notice. Gregor was slightly ahead of the group in his heavy tesla armor, capable to tanking more hits than the rest of them. Yamashi was covering their flank, walking backwards as he aimed behind them.
Gregor stops shortly making the rest hesitant before moving towards him, his armor bending over in an odd position to look down at something infront of him.
Samuel swears once he comes upto the towers suit of armor next to him, there was a dead body on the street, just a simple GI, but his body was covered in some sort of green webbing.
Yamashi makes a sound of disgust as he too came up to the group before suddenly aiming down an alley way, making everyone jump and aim where he was.
They didn't see anything...
Gregor once again leading the group turned a corner of a building and swore as a ball of green hit his suit, it seemed to melt the armor exposing the mans face to the elements as he sent a blast of electricity at the small creature that tried to kill him, frying the thing where it stood.
Another creature popped out from a nearby store and launched another load of plasma at Samuel this time, impacting his shield as Yamashi fired his rifle into the thing.
A third that looked slightly different popped out, and instead of shooting it held its head as it seemed to size them up until Gregory sent another blast of electricity into Samuel catching the other two by surprise. Michael fired into Gregorys exposed face as Yamashi charges the last creature with his sword drawn giving a battle cry.
Yamashi holds his sword onto the ground of the aircraft, a scowl on his face while Michael just holds onto his face over the entire ordeal.
Gregors Tesla suit takes up a large portion of the free space and Samuel lies next to it with a sheet over him.
The Commander rubs their face in their office as they go through the pool of new recruits. The mission went terribly with a 50% death ratio, but he was thankful and frankly surprised that a team of 4 came back, even as a team of two. Vahlen expressed intrigue over the aliens bodies and began an immediate dissection. Shen had told him about the various items he could construct which was surprisingly not that great, apparently they would need to appeal for each new item they wished to use such as tanks or access to new weapons available to the three powers.
They'll have to make do for now, but they felt like this will just get worse as time went on.
