The court went silent, and tension has risen as the judge carefully scan the pages of a legal document.
“Respective counsels, please approach the benchtop,” the man said in a monotone voice as he scanned both parties during the trial. The defendant lawyer with rogue in his look while the other has raised some concerns as both lawyers approach the bench. The members of the court murmuring pieces while the spectators have darting eyes on what’s next. A quick exchange of discourse went by with an obvious disappointment from the man coming from the defendant side. The two lawyers went back to their posts while the judge continued deliberating on whether to fulfill the defendant’s plea or side with the prosecutor’s case.
“Upon thorough review of all documents submitted and information gathered during this trial. I find and declare the accused, Raine Clarisse Arceta, guilty of charges under the violation of Republic 7877,” the judge announced in a slick posture. The spectators on the left side of the court in dismay and gasps, Jace who violently stood up attempting to go to Raine. While the other half of the courtroom in all poker faces with obvious unison to leave the court as soon as the verdict was announced.
Chase looked at the defendant's side as her sister drags her out, witnessing what she has done, what her family have done. A set of longing eyes met hers as the accused gave her a broken smile.
