Chapter 1
Gabriel sighed a bit as he rolled onto his side, the cold, hard floors not letting sleep come so easy.
“Gabriel?”
Gabriel grunted a bit, turning his head to the spot of the voice that called him. “Mmm?”
For a moment, there was nothing. He had almost thought maybe he was just hearing things. But the voice spoke again, a hesitant pause with his words.
“It’s a bit cold. Think I could lay with you?”
Gabriel could feel his skin flush a bit. He was grateful the room was so dark, otherwise, it would probably be obvious. He should say yes. Actually he had to say yes. He’s been waiting a long time for an opportunity like this. He ran his hand down his beard, biting on his nail for a moment.
Had he been quiet for too long?
“Yeah. Yeah that’s fine.”
Silence.
“You, um, you sure?”
Gabriel couldn’t help but smile. He could picture Jack's face, even in this dark room. He bet it’s so red.
“Yes, Farm boy.”
Gabriel hummed a bit, scooting a bit back to make room for the figure he heard approaching. Gabriel couldn’t help the smile on his face as Jack sat down on his heels, clearly unsure if he could actually lay down.
Jack looked down at him, and Gabriel was right. His cheeks bore a red tint to them. His blue eyes seemed to shine silver in the dark room.
“Just gonna sit there, pretty boy?” He wiggled his brows at Jack, which resulted in a scoff and a roll of his eyes.
He finally shifted out of the position though and laid on his side. Gabriel offered out an arm for his head to rest on. He took it and snuggled deep into his chest, a quiet sigh showing his gratitude.
This wasn’t so bad.
He glanced down at Jack, admiring the unkempt blonde hair on his head. He just wanted to sink his fingers into it.
Jack wrapped an arm around Gabriels torso, sighing deep into the side of his chest. “You’re so damn warm.”
Gabriel couldn’t help the chuckle that escaped his lips. “Gotta be. Someone has to warm you up.”
He felt Jack snort, and he knew he rolled his eyes at that.
Gabriel smiled, hand running slowly down Jack's shoulder. His thumb traced every scar, and his finger poked every freckle.
It wasn’t long before he could hear Jack's breathing quiet down, his chest rising and falling slowly.
They stayed together like that for a long time.
Eventually, Gabriel couldn’t resist and he sent his fingers to play with Jack’s hair. He knew some of it was still sticky with sweat. Afterall, they hadn’t been able to have a proper shower in a couple of days, but god. He couldn’t be happier.
He waited for a sleep that just never seemed to come, as most of his nights went. But it seemed easier this time, Jack snuggled deep into his chest, fingers in his hair.. He couldn't help the content sigh.
