Things to do

Alastor has been actively avoiding Lucifer since last night. After a few hours to recollect his thoughts, he registered just how stupid his deal was. The pain must have clouded his thoughts, who knows, maybe Lucifer used some magic on him, but one thing Alastor was sure of is that he shouldn't have accepted. Hell was the land of deceit, and he had just made a deal with the devil. Alastor felt foolish to believe a promise, especially one from Lucifer himself. It was unthinkable to think he wanted nothing in return but a pretend friendship. He could’ve requested that Alastor leave the hotel of his own accord, but he didn't. In Hell, no one was good-natured to that extent. Which means Alastor had been deceived. What a childish mistake he's made.

The most chilling part is that Alastor is certain it must be quite the abysmal request. Something Lucifer knew Alastor would never agree to, otherwise he would have just asked.

To prohibit Lucifer from conducting whatever plan he's thought out, it would be best to keep him at a distance. There was some ploy coming his way, he just had to be conscious of his safety. Chances are Lucifer would keep trying to gain his trust, probably wanting to continue healing him again, but Alastor couldn't let that happen. He couldn't let himself be so exposed to such an obvious predator. Alastor just needed to evade Lucifer until he could figure out what the devil had schemed. The wound, however, was a completely different problem. It had in fact, not healed, though the condition had improved. Alastor couldn't just crawl back to the devil and request his assistance again, he couldn't risk being that defenseless, the bright side being that there was a large chance his body could heal itself now. Nonetheless, It was time for breakfast.

Traveling through his dark cold shadow, Alastor found himself in the hotel’s kitchen. It was still dawn, no other residents should be awake, which was perfect. No permissive loud sinners for him to pretend to care about. And most importantly, no Morningstars.

Alastor walked over to one of the cabinets and grabbed his signature mug. However, once he turned around, he wanted to die all over again.

There sat at the dining table, was Lucifer. The blonde's head was down as his back slowly rose up and down. Alastor curiously guided himself to the dining table and stood straight behind Lucifer's chair. From this angle his face was visible, eyes shut and mouth hung slightly open. How on earth has he landed himself here? The wooden chair surely wasn't comfortable enough to prefer over a bed. Not to mention that he must have journeyed down here at some point during the night. A half-empty coffee cup was sat just above his head

Then, he carefully reached over Lucifer's head, arm brushing his blonde hair, and picked up the mug by the handle and gave it a sniff. It wreaked of pure sugar. Curious about the taste, Alastor took a small sip, which turned into a large sip. And suddenly half of the cup was empty. Oops.

Absolutely disgusting, not to mention.

Just to be safe, a shadow tentacle was used to place the cup in its original spot. Alastor was about to take his leave when he noticed some book sat under Lucifer's arm. As he gently lifted the arm, he noted how light it felt in his grasp. His hand fit completely around the whole thing. It felt so fragile, surely nothing fit for the king of hell. Just then Lucifer's fingers twitched and he softly groaned. Thankfully, Alastor was a master at stealth and quickly teleported out of there with his coffee.

—---------------------------

Lucifer did not mean to fall asleep.

Originally he had come down here to collect his thoughts and continue his new project. In order to prevent disappointing Charlie again, he had decided to take notes on all of her hotel friends. Not in a creepy way, just to make sure Alastor can't say he never pays attention. So far all he has jotted down are a few names he remembered. That must have been when he fell asleep because now the sun was starting to come up. Sitting back up while rubbing his eyes, lucifer viewed his surroundings. He was still in the kitchen sitting at the dining table and it must have been early because no one else was awake. As a being that didn't need to sleep, he sure slept a lot.

“Oh hey Dad, what are you doing up so early?” Charlie entered the kitchen, girlfriend close behind he.

“I'm not totally sure.” Lucifer rubbed his head before reaching for his mug. Upon closer inspection, he could see that it was half full. Now, the angel's memory may be a bit foggy but hes sure he never drank any. If he had he obviously wouldn't have dozed off. So what happened to his coffee??

“Dad??”

Lucifer looked up to see Charlie’s concerned face.

“Are you okay???” she said ending in an especially high-pitched voice.

“No, no I'm fine- i just uh,” Lucifer tried his best to come up with an excuse,” I’ve been working alot. By the way, did you have any of my coffee?”

Charlie took a sip out her own mug before responding
“Your coffee? No..?”

“Oh my god this place is haunted,” he muttered under his breath

“What?”

“I said you're so wanted! HAhaahHa..ha….ha.”

Charlie's brows furrowed as she looked to her girlfriend who was now just staring at the two of them. She then shrugged and walked up to the island to lean next to Charlie.

“You should join us for our meeting today, sir.”

Meeting? like a staff meeting?

“OMIGOSH YES! That is such a great idea,” Charlie gave Vaggie a squeeze, in doing so lifting her off the ground.

“..meeting?”

“Oh yeah! Dad, i had the most amazing idea and well, i don't want to spoil it but you should totally come.”

Lucifer wasn't sure how to feel. Originally he assumed he was expected at meetings, but apparently, he wasn't invited until just now. Obviously, Charlie hasn't seen him as much of a help then, but it was a great opportunity to show her.

“Of course, yeah, that sounds great, uh when exactly?”

Charlie put Vaggie back down to rub her chin.

“Good question, how about 2:30?”

Hell yeah, it wasn't like Lucifer had any other plans.

“Perfect and uh is everyone gonna be there?”

“Yea! All the staff, well, plus Angel, and you now..so yeah! Everybody!” Charlie looked around the room while nodding to herself. “Lets do it in the commons so everyone can fit.”

Vaggie smiled softly before replying, “Alright, i’ll send out the message.”

“Don't you think its a little early? I mean i dont want to bother anyone.”

“They need to wake up at some point, don't worry.”She took one last sip of coffee before exiting the room.

Charlie sighed before making her way over to the dining table. She pulled out the chair directly across from Lucifer and sat down.

“What were you up to last night? I was looking for you,” Charlie asked casually

Thats a good question.

Where was he last night?

Then it all came rushing back to him. The wound, the deal, the weirdly sexy Alastor. Oh my god.

Lucifer wanted to disappear completely. How the hell was he going to deal with all this? Not only did his body decide that he wanted to fuck a half-naked man he hated, but he hadn't even finished healing Alastors wound. Surely he could avoid the display of his crippling loneliness but getting Alastor to let him do that again would be hard. He needed to do it as soon as possible.

“Is your bellhop here?” Lucifer asked while standing up

“Alastor?? No i think he went out- why do you-”

“Do you know when he’ll be back?”

“Um. he’ll probably join us for the meeting but dad-”

“Ok thank sweetie, love you.” And with that, he teleported back to his room to come up with a game plan

—----------------------

Charlie had been pacing back in forth in the commons while chatting to Vaggie, probably trying to problem-solve some dumb sinners issues. The meeting had started 15 minutes ago, or it was supposed to at least. Lucifer had even been on time, which was something he hadn't done in a while. He was determined to make sure his daughter left this meeting knowing she could rely on him. Which would be easy of course, unless the meeting never fucking started.

Somehow Alastor always had a way to fuck shit up for Lucifer, even without him being there. Which was precisely the problem this time. Alastor was late and Charlie insisted the meeting couldn't start without him.

—----------------------

When Lucifer offered to help Alastor, he assumed he actually would. But that ignorant clown hadn't done the one thing he promised to do. Now Alastor was stuck with a slash that undoubtedly wasn't healed but also not as bad as it previously had been. As much as he thrived on blood and gore, he was getting tired of stitching himself up. The past 24 hours had been the same routine: Clean, Stitch, sleep. Which is why he had decided to take a small nap before Charlie’s meeting. All of this drama was tiring.

But as he woke up he realized it was a tad later than he had expected.

Shit.

Once properly dressed Alastor thought about teleporting downstairs. It would be much quicker and avoid as many residents as possible but he really wasn't in a state for using magic for everyday activities.

After exiting the elevator he found many lingering pairs of eyes following him, including Lucifers. All conversations seemed to have paused. Standing just in front of the fireplace was Charlie who looked at him with so much worry it made him want to puke.

“Hey, Al you alright?” She started to slowly approach him as if he were some hurt animal.

Before she could even get close, Alastor planted himself behind a loveseat that sat nifty and husk. On the other loveseat and armchairs were the rest of the residents.

“Perfectly fine my dear, sincerest apologies.” Alastor tapped his cane to the ground. He could feel Lucifer's eyes on him but he refused to acknowledge him. Charlie was also carefully watching him through furrowed eyebrows.

“Alright..” She slowly turned to the whiteboard placed in front of the fireplace

“SO, I had a great idea and well, the hotel needs some more publicity and our popularity has kinda died down after the extermination. What we need is an event that sinners will actually attend, sooooooo..” Charlie flipped the whiteboard.

Everything had been written in different colored markers. Smack dab in the middle it read “hazbin hotel halloween party” with a billion exclamation points following. The rest of the board was covered in various doodles and ideas.

“Hell yeah, i love halloween. You know the kind of kinky shit you can get away with?” Angel piped up from the other loveseat. He was upside-down with his legs crossed and hanging off the back of the couch.

Nifty quickly scrambled over to the whiteboard and started to scale it. Once at the top, she leaned over as her large eye scanned the text.
“A party? Oh that could get messy.” An evil laugh followed as she scurried back over to the couch. But instead, she went directly under it, crawling up Alastor's leg and seating herself upon his head.

“Great point nifty,” Charlie took out a pointer and circled the left side of the board.” Our plan for the next few days is to prepare this hotel.”

A collective groan tailed her statement.

“Yea’ im not doing that shit. Have fun with that Angie.” Cherri nudged Angel with her elbow playfully.

“Ain't that what nifty's for?” Angel replied

“Well yes, but we can leave it all up to her! Plus I think it’ll be a great team-building exercise.” Charlie smiled very widely.

“This place seems pretty fuckin’ clean to me,” Husk said in between sips of his drink.

“Oh, but we aren't having it down here! The third floor is so open, I was thinking we should do it up there.”

Nifty shook with excitement, “OOooooOOO! It's so dirty up there!”

“Exactly!”

Angel tried to protest once more but he was ignored.

“So, the plan is to put everyone into groups. We need a group to spread the words, y’know posters and stuff, a group to get the supplies, and a group to clean.”

“We call getting supplies, god knows you fuckin virgins don't know how to throw a party.” Cherri raised her hand as well as angels and enthusiastically waved it around.

“I'm gonna ignore that comment.” Lucifer blabbered.

“Perfect, so, Angel and Cherri for supplies, husk, I'll have you supervise them” She made a list of each name and the tasks they would be doing up onto the board.

“Alastor, I want you and Nifty on cleaning duty...anyone else wanna volunteer?”

Cleaning duty was probably the best option considering Alastors predicament. At least with Nifty by his side, it would be relaxing and easy.

“I will” Lucifer raised his hand

Or not.

Avoiding him would prove to be harder then Alastor had originally thought. Especially if he was going to voluntarily clean. He could feel the king's eyes staring through him.

“Perfect! Okay, Dad, Alastor, and Nifty…. And that leaves me and Vaggie for publicity!” She finished writing on the board before turning to the group.

“Let's get to it! I'm not sure when we should have it yet….but I’ll figure it out and let you guys know.”

The Residents began to take their leave but Charlie stood in place, glancing at Alastor with a look he could only recognize as pity. Lucifer also stayed seated, seemingly looking to Alastor to begin. Alastor couldn't handle another second with the Morningstar family. He needed to leave and get this over with.
