Summary
I was rewatching season 1 of Squid Game and I remembered the scene of which Sae-Byeok was in the vents and she freaked out because of a rat. So i'm gonna do that except there is no squid games and they're in college.

It was just a regular, normal day.

Sae-Byeok had came from her classes, to a 1 bedroom apartment that wasn't very nice, but her and Ji-yeong made it cozy. She usually makes it home before Ji-yeong because of her being at her job. She never wanted to do all that college stuff and just wanted to work instead. Sae-Byeok learned from an early age that her mother and father wanted her to go to college. And she'd rather die than not follow her parents wishes. Although she had school, she still worked part-time to help her and Ji-yeong.

Usually when she gets home, she sits on her bed and studies until Ji-yeong comes home.

However, this day was very, very different.

As she was getting unready, changing into black sweatpants and a shirt since it was a nice, warm temperature outside, she took her backpack and took out several notebooks, a pen, and her computer out and set it on her bed. She then turned around to grab the coffee that Ji-yeong had made earlier this morning before she left for work. She didn't bring it because she was in a rush this morning and barley had time to even brush her teeth. She's not normally like this she swears, she just supposes that she helped Ji-yeong unwind the night before, since she had taken overtime at work. It had made her tired.

After she grabbed the coffee, she then turned around to her bed and almost sat down until she swears she saw her pen move.

She ignored it, but cautiously moved her pillow, just too see.

Then she saw it.

A tail.

She shrieked and immediately covered her mouth, the walls of her apartment were only so thin. She knew there were other college students living here, and they do not want to be disturbed. She couldn't help but stare at this horrible creature, laying on her side of the bed. The other side of the bed was Ji-yeong's, neat. But that's not the point. There is a furry, disgusting, rodent on her bed and she was this close to running out of the room. But instead, she very, VERY cautiously took her computer and tip-toed out of the room, closing the door slowly.

She thought she was gonna have a heart attack. She had to come up with a plan, to get that thing out of here.

------

She had a broom in her hands, a face mask, her hair tied up, and she was currently thinking she was gonna have a panic attack. She's always been afraid of little creatures. Like insects and other vermin. The idea of just it running up your body and you can't catch it cause it's so damn small. It had always made her shiver.

But she had to be brave, she needs to get this rodent out of their room before ji-yeong comes hom-

The door knob rattles, and the sound of keys jam in.

"Sae Byeokieee! Guess what I brought home- Sae?" She closes the door behind her slowly, confused.

"O-oh, hi." She stutters, her face turning red at how stupid she probably looks like right now. Ji-yeong begins to laugh and Sae-Byeok looks down, her face beet-red.

"Why are you holding a broom? And why do you have a face mask on? And why do you have Cheol's football pads on?" Ji-yeong laughs out. Sae-Byeok frowns.

"There's something in our room." Ji-yeong's laugh dies down.

"What? Let me see." She walks to the door and Sae-Byeok is sweating, scared that if she opens the door the rat will fly out and attack Sae-Byeok.

Ji-yeong opens the door. She slowly walks in and looks around, her face now even more confused.

"Sae-Byeok, what was in our room exactly?" Ji-yeong walks around the room inspecting it, Sae-byeok peers into the room, shivering.

Suddenly Ji-yeong gasps. Sae-Byeok instantly goes into protection mode and swings around her broom, she pulls Ji-yeong out the room and closes the door swiftly.

"Are you alright?!" Sae-Byeok says. Ji-yeong is looking at her in disbelif and doesn't say anything. Sae-byeok is paranoid and thinks, 'Maybe she had gotten bitten and is gonna turn into rat girl and grow mouse ears and a tail, like that show Cheol watches. ' or maybe-

"Sae-byeok, it's just a rat." Sae-byeok's eyes go wide open.

'Just a rat? Look at it's furry body!! Look at it's freakishly long tail! A-and it's little body and tiny ears! It can crawl anyhere! It can eat our food!" Ji-yeong smiles and chuckles a little bit, laughing at how Sae-Byeok is genuinely freaked out by this stupid rat.

"Out of all things, your the most scared of rats? What are they gonna do?" Ji-yeong crosses her arms, but still a grin plastered on her face. Sae-Byeok looks down a bit, embarrassed, her cheeks with freckles littered around them flushing.

"Well, they're so tiny you don't know what they could do.." Sae-Byeok mumbles, her hand fidgeting with the broom handle. Like a child getting lectured. Ji-yeong sighs and goes into the kitchen and finds a tiny jar, the one we usually keep cookies in, but they always run out due to both of them having a sweet tooth. Sae-Byeok eyes follow Ji-yeong, and slightly gaps when she opens the door and closes it behind her. A few minutes pass by and Sae-Byeok is still staring at the door, wondering if she should go into the room and save Ji-yeong from the rat she tried to warn her girlfriend about.

Ji-yeong then emerges with the room, and pulls out a jar of the rat. Sae-Byeok makes a little scared noise. Like the rat will just suddenly pop out, ji-yeong notices and goes closer, and Sae-byeok takes steps back. She regrets putting the broom back. Ji-yeong laughs at the pure terror on Sae-Byeok's face. Once Sae-Byeok is back against the wall, Ji-yeong kisses her. Sae-Byeok, being a little surprised, but still kisses her back.

A little bit into the random makeout session, she could feel something cold against her hands, she plays it off as one of Ji-yeong's hands, grabbing it.

Ji-yeong's hand's aren't made out of glass. She shrieks and pushes away the jar, causing it to drop onto the wooden floor and it breaks. Ji-yeong gasps, but shortly after laughs as Sae-Byeok screams and runs away from the rat, as she felt it touch her foot.

"IT TOUCHED MY FOOT!!! IM SICK, SOMEONE HELP!!". Sae-Byeok jumps onto the couch, grabbing a pillow and ready to hit any rat. ji-yeong scoops it up and lets it out of the window. Saying "ew" in the process, then going to wash her hands. Sae-byeok, still standing on the couch, she then runs to take a shower, scrubbing vigoursly and loudly as Ji-yeong can hear from the other room. Ji-yeong sighs and puts Sae-byeok's notebooks on the desk and proceeds to change the sheets. Luckily their blankets had been on the couch. She's not gonna explain why. She puts it into the laundry and then changes her own clothes. After she does all of that she plops down on the bed, closing her eyes for a second, chuckling as she remembers what just had happened.

After about 15 minutes, ji-yeong was on her phone and Sae-byeok is drying her hair with a towel, before tying it up. She crawls into bed with Ji-yeong and lays on her stomach. She wraps her arm around her waist and snuggles closer.

"I'm sorry for making a mess." She mumbles into Ji-yeong's sweater. They stay like that for a couple of minutes before Ji-yeong take's out the hairtie in Sae-Byeok's hair. Sae-Byeok's hair has grown a little and is know on her shoulders. She pets her hair and runs her fingers through it.

"It's alright, Byeokie. Everyone has their fears." Ji-yeong laughs.

"But mine is stupid." Ji-yeong smiles and brings her face up to hers and gives her face a big sloppy smooch. Sae-byeok wipes off the saliva on her face and puffs up her cheeks a bit. Ji-yeong smiles. Sae-Byeok leans up a bit and kisses the corner of her lip softly, Ji yeong smiles and kisses her on the lips.

"My village had a lot of rats." She say's between kisses. "And my older brother use to grab big, fat rats-" She sits up a bit, Ji-yeong starts kissing at her neck. "A-and he used to grab them by the tails and chase me around with it." Ji-yeong laughs into her neck, making her shiver a little bit. She's always been sensitive around her neck.

"You know what my fear is? My biggest one?". Sae-byeok nods. Ji-yeong kisses her again.

"Losing you." She boops Sae-Byeok on the nose and kisses her once more. Sae-byeok has a grin on her face now. She lays down next to Ji-yeong, smiling and sighing contently, she lays her hands on top of her chest.

"You know, for Halloween I think I'll dress up as a rat. " Sae-byeok hits her on the arm, yet the grin is still stuck on her face.

"Hey! I was thinking abour dressing up like a mouse, like how Karen did in Mean Girls!" Ji-yeong says. Sae-Byeok looks at her confused.

"What? Have you not seen Mean Girls before?! The most iconic movie of like, all time?!" Ji-yeong exclamins, sitting up immediately. Sae-byeok nods no.

"Okay, were watching Mean Girl's tonight, come on." Ji-yeong grabs her hand and starts getting her up to go to the couch. Sae-byeok blushes slightly, remembering last night when they tried watching this thriller movie. It didn't exactly go as they planned.

They only make it 30 minutes into the movie before cracking.
