Stick to Me Like Caramel
Summary
Luz always has a hard time with winter. But this year is different. Amity is determined to show Luz there’s still beauty in the world despite the seasonal change.
Note
Had another writing challenge with Taspiron, and I wrote something quite a bit different than what I normally write. I hope you like it. Please, let me know what you think! We each have each other a quote to be utilized. The quote I was given:“Oh, come on, don’t be like that! I thought it was funny!”

Amity and Luz sat on the couch in the Noceda residence, snow blanketing the ground outside. Winter had fully set in, and Luz’s mood dropped with the temperature. Amity hated it, watching her normally bubbly girlfriend disappear, leaving a husk behind. Luz tried to spend more time in the Boiling Isles this time of year, avoiding the colder weather as much as possible.

In the Demon Realm, the cold spell wasn’t as severe, thanks to the Boiling Sea. In fact, it was about the only time it was safe to swim on many parts of the Island. In the Human Realm, however, Winter could be brutal. Luz always talked about how the weather could crush her, draining all of her happiness and energy.

So, to battle her Batata’s seasonal depression, Amity had asked to stay the first week of Winter break at the Noceda residence. She’d find a way to show Luz there was still beauty in the cold months.

Camilla, of course, had been more than happy to have the witch stay. Amity couldn’t think of a better way to kick off the cold season than spending it holding Luz, wrapped in blankets and watching movies together. She gave a sigh of contentment, holding Luz a little tighter on the couch.

“You okay, Sweet Potato?” Luz asked, looking up from where her head rested against Amity’s chest.

“I couldn’t be happier,” Amity said, kissing Luz’s forehead. She meant it, too.

The Isles were free from Belos, and everyone had been hard at work rebuilding them and establishing a new order, one that was built to serve the witches and demons that lived there, not the other way around. It had been over a year since Luz defeated Belos, and they were starting to see the fruits of their labor.

But it was hard work. Not only was Amity finishing up her studies at Hexside (along with helping to rewrite the curriculum), but they were having to rebuild their world. Rehoming people, clearing rubble, and utilizing Blight Enterprises to reconstruct buildings… It could be a lot. So, it was nice to take some time to just enjoy Luz.

“Oh, this is my favorite part!” the human in question exclaimed, pointing at the screen.

Amity looked up to watch the animated snowman walk into an icicle, before saying, “Oh, look at that. I’ve been impaled.” Amity chuckled at the silly interaction, watching her girlfriend enjoy the movie from her fortress of blankets.

Girlfriend. Amity could remember the days she was worried she’d never get to call the human that. Ever since their duel, she hadn’t been able to get Luz out of her head. Her crazy antics, hectic style, and kind heart had truly captured Amity. Now, the witch didn’t want to spend a single day without reminding Luz how much she loved her.

Amity returned her attention to the screen as the main character, Anna, attempted to convince her sister to return home. Amity smirks a little. “Why is she trying to bring Elsa back, anyway? Shouldn’t she just… Let it go,” she says.

The only sound in the living room was Ghost choking on a hairball. Amity clears her throat, face bright red. Luz is biting her bottom lip, suppressing a laugh. “It’s fine, I’ll see myself out,” Amity murmurs, pulling the blanket over her face.

“Aw, Sweet Potato, don’t hide,” Luz says, moving to straddle Amity. Amity burrows further into her cocoon of shame, shaking her head vigorously so Luz could see it through the blanket.

“Oh, come on, don’t be like that! I thought it was funny!” Luz pouted, trying to pull the blanket away from Amity’s face. The witch held firm, giggling as she battled against her girlfriend.

“Curse my weak nerd arms,” Luz said. “Fine, I know how to get you out of there…”

Amity waited, the suspense building as Luz moved around on top of her. The witch’s fingers held tightly to her blanket, preparing for virtually anything. Anything, that is, except for Luz to grab at her sides, tickling her relentlessly. Amity gasped and squeaked, flinging the blanket away from her face as she tried to stop the onslaught.

Luz relented quickly, laying on top of the now uncovered witch and pinning her in place. “Aha, I am victorious!” Luz cheered.

Amity hummed in approval, their eyes inches apart. Luz’s chocolate orbs were beautiful, like pools of the sweetest caramel. Amity wanted to dive straight in. “And to the victor, goes the spoils,” Amity breathed out, closing her eyes and capturing Luz’s lips with a kiss.

Luz gasped in surprise, but moaned as she returned the soft kiss. Amity quickly became more demanding, however. She ran her hands up Luz’s back, settling her fingers into her Batata’s hair. Luz was, after all, hers. Luz moaned again, wrapping her arms behind Amity, their kiss deepening.

Amity pulled lightly at Luz’s hair, drawing a gasp out of the human. Amity smirked as their lips clashed together. She carefully nipped at Luz’s bottom lip, careful not to dig her fangs in too much. Luz was a mess on top of her, moaning and panting, putty in Amity’s hands.

Amity’s breathing grew ragged as she parted Luz’s lips, sliding her tongue into Luz’s mouth. She tasted amazing, so sweet. Their tongues danced, and Amity couldn’t get over how good Luz’s mouth tasted. Amity lost her focus, breaking the kiss with a chuckle. A chuckle that grew, until Amity was laughing so hard she couldn’t breathe.

Luz sat back, breathless, pouting, her lips swollen. “What’s so funny?” She sulked.

Amity tried to catch her breath, the laughing stopping. “You’ve been hiding sweets from me and sneaking them this whole time!”

“Pffffft whaaaat?” Luz asked, sitting back. Her tomato colored face was a dead give away. Titan, there was chocolate at the corners of her mouth! Amity laughed again. How had she missed it?

Amity purred, sitting up and wrapping her arms around Luz. She ghosted her lips over Luz’s, causing the human to gasp. Thankfully, Luz always took the bait. Amity snatched the remaining blankets and tossed them to the floor, revealing a bag of Dulce De Leche truffles.

Luz stuttered, trying to come up with some excuse or explanation. “Uh, hey! When did- How the- I can’t believe someone else hid this bag of candy here! Who would do something like that?” She said loudly. Amity raised an eyebrow, and Luz’s shoulders sagged.

“Busted!” Amity teased. Luz lowered her gaze downward, pouting. “Sneaking sweets before dinner? What am I going to do with you?” Amity asked, suppressing a giggle. Luz whined, not looking up. “No more tonight- not even after dinner,” Amity declared. Luz whined again, but stopped when Amity raised an eyebrow.

The witch tossed the bag onto the coffee table, laying back onto the couch and grabbing a pillow. She opened her arms, beckoning her pouting girlfriend. “Come here, Batata. And grab the blankets. We have a movie marathon to work through.”
