#1 - Buck begins
If you had told Evan "Buck" Buckley that he'd leave the Seals, and find another family outside of it, he'd laugh in your face. There was no way that he'd leave the Seals. This is what he loved doing, and what he wanted to do for the rest of his life.
That was until his injury. His leg was crushed under a tank, and he was discharged. He spend months healing, with many ups and downs, but eventually his leg was healed, and he could continue living. But, now that he wasn't in the seals anymore, he wasn't sure what to do with himself. Sure, he moved to L.A to start over, but it didnt change the fact that he didn't think about what he wanted to do after Seals.
He spend many months trying to figure out what he wanted to go with his life now, and even after a year of living in L.A, hee wasn't sure. That was, until one say he saw firefighter's hellp a unconsious boy on the beach. Seeing them work, and how coordinated they were, he knew. He just knew that it's what he wants to do. Help people. It's what he alwways wanted to do.
And so, not even a week later, Evan found himself at the academy, training to be a firefighter, with special training for heavy rescue. And after a year of being in the academy, and having passed with flying colors (Even he didn't know how he ended up breaking records), he was officially a firefighter.
And when he got assigned to the 118, he was sure that it was a mistake. After all, the Fire Chief wouldn't asign him to the best firehouse in all of L.A, right? Wrong. When he asked the Chief if it was just a mistake, hee was informed that a lot of the stations wanted him, but Captain Bobby Nash insisted on having him.
So you can imagine his shock when he heard that. And for the first time in over two years, he felt like he was worth something. Like we wasn't a failure.
~~On Buck's first day at the 118~~
"Uh, im looking for Captain Nash?"
He said, as he looked at the firefighters seated at the dinner table.
"I don't know anyone named Nash, do you?"
Hell, if Buck wasnt so nervous he would hear the underlying tone of joke in the mans Voice, but he was nervous. And just as he was about to reach for his phone, the man, laughed.
"Relax. I'm Captain Nash, you would be our new member, yes?"
The man, now known as Cap. Nash said, with a smile as he extented his hand for him, which Buck accepted quickly.
"Ah yes, it would be me, Sir"
Buck said, a bit nervous, but not as much as he was a few minutes ago.
"My name's Evan Buckley, but Buck will be just fine"
Evan said, as he shook Nash's hand, firmly.
"Bobby Nash, but you can call me Bobby while were in the house."
Bobby said, as he gave Buck a warm smile
"This is Hen"
He said as he pointed at the beautifull woman, Buck guessed she's African-American.
"And this is Han"
Bobby continued, now pointing at a short Asian man.
"You can call me Chimney or Chim, we dont do well with our names here"
The Asian man said, and Buck had to hold back a chuckle at his **very** interesting nickame.
"It's nice to meet you all. I'm sure we'll work together well"
Buck said, and it's how his first day at the 118 started. His first call was..chectic to say the least, but he had fun. And he definietly shocked his team with how easy it was for him to jump off of a roof to get their suicidal patient back into his apartment.
So yeah, while he was no-longer a Seal, he was okay with it. Because now he had a team that started worming their way into his heart, and he had a job that aloowed him to do what he loves. He can save people without needing a gun to do it.
And that's all that matters for him right now.
