Chapter 25
Landing in the back yard at home I climb out getting the dog out while Kim puts her gifts in my car, hooking the leash on it I frown double checking the dogs actually a girl since Amy insisted Ares was a female when he's clearly not.
Nodding I click my tongue getting her to follow me to the car, reaching it I pat the seat getting her in "oh God, her breath smells horrible" Kim mumbles covering her nose and looking away from the panting dog.
Laughing I get in and pull out heading for Mom's "so how'd you get Bonnie to go to your parents without telling her about the party or this?" Kim asks motioning to the dog.
"I left my chocolate out that she always steals and the rest handled itself, I just had to tell she better go get my back up candy"
Hearing Kim laugh I smirk "I feel bad we didn't get to celebrate her birthday on her actual birthday" Kim says after a moment.
"Same, but I had to go to the hearing for Hego, it couldn't be missed I'm just glad they agreed with the hospital after we finally took his powers"
Pulling up at the house I smile seeing Sam and Drake's car, I get out getting the dog out then grab my gifts that Kim put in a bag for me.
Walking to the door I open it seeing Bonnie sat on the couch with Kyle on her lap showing her his car talking, tilting my head I smile slightly I didn't know if Bonnie would be good with kids but she's been great with Kyle.
I know it doesn't mean she wants kids, I'm not even ready for kids but I hope this is a good sign for the possibility of children in the future.
Stepping in fully I see Bonnie look at me blushing, walking over I press a kiss to her head before messing up Kyle's hair "hey little guy" I say when he laughs throwing himself at me hugging my arm.
Looking back at Bonnie I smile "happy birthday" I whisper seeing her blush more.
"I thought you was really upset about the chocolate" she mutters.
"No, but I didn't know how to get you here without spoiling the surprise and Mom's not someone I want to cross for ruining her surprises" I respond.
"Beth why do you have a giant dog?" She finally asks looking at it.
"Oh well, she's technically your's and she's registered as an emotional support animal her name's Angel, no I didn't name her Amy did, I would have picked something more original"
Handing her the leash I see her smile before we hear Ma call Cake.
Monday Bonnie pov
Wrapping my hand about Angel's leash I lead her into G.J while cradling Eris in my other arm, glancing around I see Beth glaring at Junior as he throws a fit about something.
"Oh, you brought Angel to visit me" I hear.
Looking at the hall I need I see Amy come shuffling out with a large smile before she bends down petting and kissing her large head "hey Amy" I greet.
"She looks so happy" she coos glancing at me.
"I hope she is, but I have a patient for you" I say pulling her attention to Eris.
"Oh Eris what's wrong?" She asks looking at the monkey.
"She's pregnant Amy, we just need to know if it's okay but I didn't want to take her to a vet with her being a special of yours"
Amy nods carefully taking her from my arms, it's still weird seeing her so energetic and hyper but when needed she can be calm and careful "come on baby let's go check your baby" she says keeping her eyes on Eris before giggling.
I fight back a laugh seeing Eris sigh rolling her eyes she really is Beth's partner, following Amy to her office I frown seeing a few tanks with small blobs in them.
"I have permission to create my babies within reason, no speeding up the process, no extreme mixes, and I have to make sure they're going to be healthy and have a good life as if I'd ever purposely make them unhealthy or were living is a struggle" she says huffing.
Glancing at her I look back at one tilting my head "what are they for?" I ask looking at the five tanks.
"Doctor Director wants to attempt having partner animal for the agents since my babies have been useful to Kim's old sidekick and Eris was a great helper for Beth, these five will go to select employees to test it out before she decides if she wants it done"
"If she doesn't?" I ask.
"I'll be making animals on the endangered species list to help them recover, I really hope she approves the partner animals I have so many ideas for matching my babies with a human"
Nodding I motion to her lab and follow her in "okay just give me a few minutes to set up Eris and we can see about your baby" she coos placing her on an actual exam bed before laying a little baby blanket over her lap then leaving the room.
Seeing Eris look at me I smile seeing her glare at me "I know she's a lot, but she knows everything about you so she's the best choice for your health care" I say.
Beth pov
Rubbing my temples I sigh hearing Junior whining about having to listen to his commander because he's ugly.
Clinching my jaw I glare at him, I've had to listen to this shit for ten minutes already, seeing him stomp his foot crossing his arms I snarl punching him in the face knocking him down while using a light volt of my power.
Stepping over him I grab his shirt jerking him up "shut the fuck up you over grown baby, everyone is sick of you're shit, now either do your job and listen or you will go to prison and I mean real prison not our holding cells, the deal your father made will be broken and you both will end in the metahuman max jail, if you care about him even a tiny bit in your selfish heart you will stop behaving like a fucking child" I snap.
Hearing him whimpering I scoff shoving him back slightly before standing up "I'm done, I'll tell Doctor Director you refuse to work and have you transferred to the prison then send a team to get your father" I hiss.
"No, I'll work" she wails grabbing my leg.
Shaking him off I sneer "then get your ass up and act like a fucking adult, do your damn job and stop whining about everything, oh and leave your female coworkers alone because your already written up twice for harassment, one more time and your contract is broken" I snap.
Shaking my head I stalk off heading to my office only to find Ma with an actual file "how you manage that I'll never understand" I snark seeing she's on the edge perfectly comfortable.
"It's not hard, I thought you would be able to" she mumbles without really focusing on anything but her reading.
"I can but the edge hurts after a while and what are you looking at?" I ask.
"Your file, I pulled it from the lower level"
"Ma, that's not supposed to seen" I hiss.
"Well I am, I want to see what you been up to"
Scoffing I see her lift a photo frowning "I've never seen anything like this" she mutters.
Frowning I glance seeing images from when I got my code name "how'd you manage this?"
"Some of his own inventions but it was after he tried to slap me, it's honestly to sloppy, my later ones were more thought out even when I used them to send messages, I was careful with everything to make it exactly how I want"
"You get that control from Betty, I think if the villain's knew who exactly they were going up against many might throw in the towel"
"No, they respect me even though I fuck up their plans and toss them in jail, I don't want them to fear or hate me, even Amy and Lynn respect me even though I make them nervous"
"That's because you treat them with respect and try to help them" Ma says chuckling.
Rolling my eyes I move to my seat sitting down to relax only to hear Junior screaming and crying.
Groaning get up looking out the door seeing him being chased by Angel with her growling and snapping at him.
"Angel, return" I order seeing her slide to a stop before taking off down the hall leading to Amy's office.
