Chapter 18
Next day Bonnie pov
Walking in the house I huff tossing my book on the counter ignoring it sliding off the other side to the floor while heading to the kitchen and grabbing some fruit to make my afternoon smoothie.
Finding my cup gone I frown searching the dishwasher, hearing grunting from the backyard I open it finding Beth covered in sweat sparring with Sophia to practice with her powers again "have you seen my smoothie cup?" I ask trying not to whine.
"Icebox" Beth answers ducking a kick to her face.
Closing the door I check the icebox finding it with a smoothie already in it, pulling it out I taste it and smile before heading to the living room.
Eventually Beth comes in and walks past me heading upstairs, shrugging it off since when she practices she comes in tired and crashes I look back to the TV trying to find something to watch.
"Book" Sophia calls laughing before coming up and sitting by me with the book I tossed.
Glaring at it I scoff "I think I need a different therapist".
"Why?"
"She wants me to read that, I already know about my soulmate"
"Soulmates as in multiple not just one" Sophia says making me frown "I had to read something similar when I was in therapy, I just assumed that everyone has one soulmate but it's not true".
"What?" I ask panicking about the possibility of Beth finding another and leaving me behind or worse I end up with another that's just like my family.
"There are three types of soulmates the friend, the family, and the lover since the lover is the most commonly known people forget the others, the friend is just that a best friend that understands you completely, the family is confusing because, well look at Beth and Shego they understand each other completely and can anticipate each other's thoughts, yet they will talk or fight like sisters anyone going after one of them will have to fight them both, they are soulmates twice as friends and family, you have the lover with Beth"
Seeing her thinking about what to say I wait for her to continue "I found my family soulmate because of Betty, her name's Helene and we trade insults just for the hell of it trying to outsmart each other, my friend soulmate I haven't found but not everyone can be as lucky as Betty and Beth to find all three".
"Sometimes you all confuse me because you seem like you hate each other but then you do something kind"
"This family is full of powerful people the women especially, we all argue and aggravate each other even end up in physical fights, but it's because they're all so similar that they clash together the point is when it's said and done even if they try to avoid each other, they have each other's backs no one fights alone they love each other no matter if they're criminals or law enforcement"
"What about Hego?" I ask.
"He lost his mind and has checked out mentally, Beth could have killed him and not thought anything about it but he's still family, she will eventually forgive him however she will never forget and if he ever recovers, he will have to live with the knowledge that he ruined his relationships because it will never be the same between him and her, Shego, or his brothers"
Nodding I frown looking at the book she places in my lap "you're an adult Bonnie it's time to choose if you will continue to let them have power over you or if your really are Beth's mate because her mate is strong, she refuses to be anyone's whipping girl".
Seeing her walk away I frown thinking about what she said, since I been around Beth she gets aggravated with me but hasn't done anything, when she gets really mad she's walks away or takes a break then comes back, her entire family's trying to help me and push me to fight to be free, Beth hasn't done anything to me even when I wanted to be close to her, she hasn't even hinted at expecting anything happening.
All she keeps saying is make up my mind on my plans and tell her what I need, there are worse people to be with even with her temper, my ex didn't care about raising his hand to me or if I didn't want to do anything, even Shego as loud and terrifying as she can be hasn't done more then threatening when I was trying to spy on them and kicking her seat in the car.
Beth didn't seem worried about it, she acted like Shego was all bark but then when my father was here they pushed me behind them and chased him off, even Betty went after him leaving me with Sophia and she had turned on her battery for her powers.
"I didn't have to face them alone" I mumble feeling my eyes water up about that and about Kim and Monique helping me.
Taking a breath I wipe at my eyes "I'm not alone anymore" I whisper in disbelief.
2 hours later Beth pov
Getting up I make my way down stairs rubbing my stomach, opening the icebox I freeze then lick my lips at the most beautiful sight the icebox has ever held, taking up an entire shelf that's straining to hold it up.
Checking my surroundings I see it's all clear then carefully take out this beautiful treat, cutting it in half I start eating like I haven't eaten in days on both halves till nothing good is left.
Groaning I lean on the counter feeling satisfied and proud, hearing the door open I glance up seeing Shego frown checking out my treat.
"Impressive but our grandmothers are gonna kill you"
"Grandmothers?" I ask feeling slightly sleepy.
Hearing the door open again I groan looking at it and feel fear take hold of my instincts before I try to run.
"I'm sorry, I was starving" I scream trying to dodge the canes being swung at me stopped my complete escape.
Feeling one across my ass I gasps keeping my scream in before another hits my legs dropping me.
Groaning I roll over and look up at the two devil women standing over me "you never learn Elizabeth".
Glaring I look away from them till they leave "fuck, I feel sick now" I grumble.
"Was it worth it?" Shego asks.
Smiling I nod "completely and that was the biggest one yet, it filled the entire shelf that was struggling to hold it".
"You have a problem with watermelon"
"From the moment they told me I couldn't eat their prized melon for that event" I respond seriously.
"That you did eat then got chased around the yard by them"
"Hey, it wasn't a problem for them when they took me to those events and set me loose on the other contestants entrees"
Taking Shego's offered hand I get up groaning at the movement "I have something to show you" she whispers.
Following after her I huff slowly climbing the stairs to the back window seeing her peeking out, making my way up I look out seeing Bonnie shaking her hand out frowning.
"What?" I ask confused.
She waves me off and tells me to just watch, rolling my eyes I look back out seeing Bonnie throw a sloppy punch at Ma before Grandma corrects her stance and aim.
Bonnie seems unsure about her but Grandma stands to the side calmly while talking to her to explain something that makes Bonnie nod.
"Princess was here and she was helping for a while, but she had to head home because her Nana was going to arrive soon"
"She's trying to fight" I mumble tilting my head.
"Yeah, I don't know what happened but it's like something finally clicked for her, she's actually trying to learn self defense"
Nodding I frown watching her "that's good but I would prefer her not having to fight up close if possible".
"I thought as much, I talked to Nerdlinger about some protection for her and a weapon that can be used to keep her distance, he also says he's almost finished with the tech you sent him to make for us"
Nodding I smile slightly seeing Mom catch Bonnie's when she loses her balance.
"So how's the house hunting going?" Shego asks.
"We found one almost in Upperton I've done had the furniture put in and now I'm having Wade set up a top of the line security system just to be safe after what they did to her car, I been messing with it and getting it set up so they can't do that again for now she's driving my car"
