- Hi, babe! - Kara said as she walked inside the house after a long day of work.
- Hi, my love. - Lena said and then gave a quick peck on Kara's lips. - How was your day?
- Exhausting. The team behaves like they are at a kindergarten, my boss apparently cannot manage to focus and just do her freaking job, and I had to stay away from you for almost 10 hours. - Kara said after letting out a deep breath through her nose.
Lena laughed and embraced her wife.
- Sweetheart, I love you too, but unfortunately, we are not billionaires, which means we both need to work our asses off during the day. Although, if you missed me that much, I suggest a warm shower while I finish dinner, and then a lot of cuddles and kisses on the couch while we watch a series or a movie. You choose.
- That sounds perfect, babe. I love how you know exactly what I need. I'll be back in 15. Love you. - Kara said, leaving the living room.
Lena continued to set up the table and finish preparing dinner. A couple of minutes after she was done, Kara returned to the living room and sat at the table where her wife waited for her.
- What do we have here? - she asked, going around opening the pans. - Ohhhh, thanks, babe. My favorite! I love your meatloaf, you know that, don't you?
- Yes, darling, I am well aware. - Lena laughed. - You love my meatloaf. The one I buy at the market and just throw in the oven.
- It does not taste the same when someone else does it. So, yes, I love yours.
- Fine. Mine is better. Let's eat then.
They proceeded to eat and made small talk about their workday. Lena had a breakthrough in her research, and Kara was considering changing the team’s strategy to approach the market in a different way. After finishing the dishes, they moved to the couch.
- What do you want to watch, darling? - Lena asked.
- I don’t know. You choose. I just want to cuddle until it’s time to go to bed.
- Okay, darling, come cuddle then. I’ll pick something, and we can just lay here until we need to move to bed.
