Why, did I do this?
A year ago, Hope had never imagined that her parents would react like this when they found out what had happened.
She appeared in the doorway, covered in blood.
"God, Freya" Klaus, Hope's father, exclaimed when he saw his daughter. At the same time, he called out to his older sister.
Freya hurried over to them, eager to hear a word from her niece, but Hope couldn't make a sound.
"Hope, baby, why are you covered in blood?" Aunt Freya asked with concern in her voice, fearing that her niece might have killed someone.
"While your mother is away, let's wash off the blood" Klaus suggested, who unlike his wife was very gentle with his daughter.
While they were washing the blood off the young girl, they exchanged glances with each other.
"Klaus, what are we going to do? She can't go to jail at that age" Freya seemed to care more than Hope's father.
"I'll handle this, Freya" the man said confidently.
They put the younger Mikaelson to bed, and the woman asked her brother to stay with her for a few more minutes.
"Hope, what did you do?" The blonde said, brushing a strand of hair out of the sleeping girl's face.
Several hours later, Hope woke up alone in her room, clutching her head in unbearable pain.
At lunchtime, when her sister and brother had already eaten, the blonde decided to go up to her niece to find out what had happened.
She knocked gently on the girl's door and thankfully let her in.
"How are you? I brought you lunch, " the blonde said with a tray of delicious food in her hands.
"I do not know" said the red — haired girl, with tears in her eyes.
"Hey, hush, hush, we can make sure this doesn't happen again, love" Freya hurried to put the tray of food on the nightstand and hug the girl.
"We all love you, Hope, always and forever" the blonde said as she held the girl close, and Hope's tears spilled out like a waterfall.
"I don't understand what happened on this day of my birthday," the woman struggled to calm the girl who was crying.
"We'll figure it out, baby, it'll be all right" Freya said, and Hope sobbed into her shoulders.
