- He had a rough childhood, his parents passed when he was young and before that they were rather strict with him so he didn't really have the opportunity to just be a kid.
- Threw himself into training after his parents died because he didn't know how to deal with the grief. Because of it he never really developed personal relationships or really developed socially so he ended up being rude and stuck up because he has no idea what he's doing when interacting with others and simultaneously wants to protect himself from ever losing anyone again. Even though his parents were harsh on him he cared a lot for them and their deaths affected him quite a lot.
- He acts completely different around children, he's usually very quiet and almost never says something rude or obnoxious. He'll never admit it, but he doesn't want to expose them to any negativity.
- If you're good with kids he definitely feels something about it, he has no idea what said feeling is at first, but there's definitely a feeling there. It confuses him a lot and he may even act a little weird. If he sees you interacting with the kids and them absolutely loving it, he will be a bit jealous that he never got that as a kid, but he also is so thankful that they are getting that and its just very confusing for him to deal with.
- If he ever has to save you in a fight you will never hear the end of it, but if you have to save him he won't so much as acknowledge what you did because he's embarrassed that he needed help at all.
- If he ever gets hurt he's 100% the type to play it off as nothing unless it's serious or very obvious. It's a weakness to be hurt and he is by no means weak, although it may put him in a spot where he only worsens himself. He is surprisingly good at dealing with his own injuries, likely from trial and error when he was younger. And if you get hurt he'll chastise and lecture you while he deals with it.
- He's a really skilled braider. He's very proud of his braids and if your hair is long enough he'll just braid it randomly for you. It calms him, although he'll never admit it, he really enjoys braiding your hair and it feels very intimate for him. He doesn't let you braid his feathers though, as braids have a special meaning among the Rito warriors.
- He's really soft, like, really soft. When he isn't wearing his armor you'll just lean into his chest and drag your hands through the feathers there. He insists he doesn't like it but he wraps his wings around you anyway and lets you rest against him as long as you'd like.
- Rito can't see anything in the dark, once the sun goes down he's pretty much blind. You teased him about it once when you saw him trip over a rug in a dark room, although the resulting gust of wind that knocked you flat onto your ass made sure you wouldn't be doing that again. As a result of him being unable to see in the dark, it's really difficult for him to fight in the dark, which agitates him a lot because of his status as such a skilled archer. In reality it's embarrassing for him, although he can't do anything about it, and the embarrassment manifests as anger and frustration because he's really bad with feelings.
- He's a really good singer, and sometimes he sings for you. It's a rare occasion that he does, usually when you two are alone late at night.
- He doesn't say "I love you" in the traditional sense. He rarely shows his affections through his words, instead he brings you small gifts, cooks for you, flies you places, and is surprisingly physically affectionate when you're alone. He gives you endearing nicknames, calling you darling, dear, and, in late nights in each others arms he'll murmur to you that you're his.
