Dada and Mr. Nick
Remy loves his dada so much.
He loves how daddy smells like soap and cookies. Cookies are yummy.
Dada gives the best hugs. Like, the best ones ever. Dada says, “I love you, buddy,” and when he says that, Remy’s tummy feels all warm and squishy, like when he cuddles his baby blanket.
Dada makes pancakes with smiley faces! They’re so funny because the smiles go all wonky. But Remy loves them anyway.
Dada knows all about dinosaurs. Like all of them! Even the long names that are hard, like… um… Trecera-top? Yeah, that one! And Daddy listens to Remy talk about dinosaurs forever, and he never says stop.
At bedtime, dada reads books with funny voices. He does the dragon voice really good, like, reeeally good. And when Remy gets tickles, he laughs so hard his belly hurts, but he likes it.
Sometimes Remy spills juice, and he thinks dada might get mad, but dada just cleans it up and says, “It’s okay. We can fix it.” Dada fixes everything.
Dada is always there. Like, always always. Even when Remy is scared or sad, dada hugs him and says it’s okay.
Remy loves his dada. His daddy is the bestest dada in the whole wide world!
Remy also likes Mr. Nick a lot.
Mr. Nick is so cool. He smiles all the time, and his dimple looks like a little dent on his face. It’s funny.
Mr. Nick knows everything. He knows how to tie shoes super fast, even when the laces are all tangly, and he can make the biggest block towers without them falling over (most of the time).
Mr. Nick teaches numbers in a fun way. He says, “What if you have two apples, and I give you one more?” and then he pretends to eat the apples. Remy laughs because Mr. Nick doesn’t even have apples!
One time, Mr. Nick showed the class how to mix colors. He mixed blue and yellow, and it turned green, which is so cool because green is Remy’s favorite color.
Mr. Nick sings songs about letters and makes them really silly. He says, “A is for apple, B is for bounce, and C is for crocodile chomp!” and then he pretends to be a crocodile, and everyone laughs so hard.
When someone gets sad, Mr. Nick crouches down and talks soft, like daddy does. One time, when Remy didn’t know how to draw a tree, Mr. Nick said, “It doesn’t have to look real. It’s your tree, so it can look however you want!” That made Remy feel happy again.
People like Mr. Nick are the best, and he wants Mr. Nick and his dad to be best friends foreverrrrrrr!
