Chapter 36
The recruiting of other houses was not as difficult as Draco had anticipated. Granted the entire point of waiting this long was so that it was easier to recruit the other houses, but nonetheless, it was still far simpler than he had ever anticipated it being. Perhaps he was too conditioned to the hatred everyone seemed to have for his house, the moment that you are placed into it, but then, was that not what they were trying to change?
There were, of course, other reasons to what they were doing. Sowing discord, ripping the title of the hogwarts golden children from Potter and his pathetic band of friends, and then turning the school against Gryffindors, for a change, while also getting Dumbledore kicked from the school (at worse) and put in prison (at best) but even still, it was more than what Draco could have hoped for. He knew his alpha had other plans, as well, more secret ones that he did not bother informing Draco of, but that was okay, because he did not need to know those plans. It was fine. He just wanted to make sure that nobody was caught in the midfire.
They had managed to gather quite the crew of hufflepuffs, and Ravenclaws, to their cause, and the Golden Trio was now more like the Golden Duo, and rather than them being famous for their good deeds, they were disliked now, for their ego and arrogance, and for whatever reason their refusal to believe Draco was and Submissive Omega.
And Draco would admit, after that had come out, things had been far simpler for him at school. Of course, had it not been for Tom, he was not stupid, he knew that this would definitely not be the case, but people left him alone, and when he spoke they actually paused to listen for a bit. If he was uncomfortable, teachers allowed him to go somewhere else, and Tom was basically given a freepass to accompany him everywhere, which was something Draco did enjoy quite a bit. He liked having Tom near him, and he enjoyed the Alpha's comforting protectiveness.
Even when Lucius had shown up at school to speak with Lupin, he did not call for Draco, and while Draco was not certain how, he knew Tom had something to do with it. At this point, it was no secret, Tom was Draco's Alpha, and Draco was Tom's Omega, and the two were in an intimate relationship. Everyone in the school knew, and while they were not married it did mean Draco was essentially betrothed. His father had not even bothered about pushing it, and in general, Lucius seemed to be ignoring him. At first, this had hurt Draco, but in the end he realized it for the blessing that it actually was.
The only thing they had to do now, was kick Dumbledore.
Something which was a bit more complicated than it seemed, really. The man was annoying and had the influence to boot. Despite their scheming, it seems like he had annoyingly managed to subvert every accusation. Draco was beginning to worry it was going to take more than that, but what he didn't know was more than what he did, and Tom was working heavily in the backgrounds of places Draco did not see.
Dumbledore was not just fired, his entire reputation was completely blackened to the point even his brother refused to look at him. The goat fucking brother. Though he was not arrested, which was a shame, it was basically as good as Draco could have hoped for.
Draco did not know how Tom managed it, but Tom had admitted to using pensive, veriteserum, and some temporarily allowed Legilimacy.
The best thing, by far in Draco's opinion, was that his father had his parenting rights revoked. He had actually cried when Tom had told him this. He had no idea about the old laws, and such, but his godfather was going to be taking him to his house at the end of the term, and that...well...Draco was just happy that he had met Tom, because beyond switching the school dynamics and ripping Gryffindor apart from the inside out, sowing chaos around the school, getting dumbledore fired, he was just happy to be safe.
