Hi! Please read, it's important! I just want to say that I'm French, and English is not my strong point. I fill in the gaps with the internet, but don't hesitate to tell me if I need to correct something. Thanks! Happy reading!

Another Day of Mail

It was mail day, and Chloe was terrified. She knew that if Red didn't get a letter today, she would go find Maddox. The thought terrified her. She understood Red's reasons, but selfishly, she wanted to keep her angel close to her. She felt torn between her desire to support Red and her desire to protect her, to keep her safe by her side.

Red, for her part, was also very worried. She didn't want to leave Chloe, but she couldn't stay without answers about Maddox any longer. Every day of uncertainty was torture for her, and even though it broke her heart to have to leave her princess, she knew she had to do something.

As she waited for the mail to be delivered, Red and Chloe had a long conversation. Chloe desperately tried to convince Red to take her if she had to leave. "I could help you, Red. I don't want you to put yourself in danger alone. »

Red shook her head stubbornly. "Chloe, it's too dangerous. I don't want to put you in danger."

Chloe took his hand, her eyes shining with determination. "And I don't want my angel to put herself in danger all by herself. If you leave, I'm coming with you. We're a team, remember?"

Red felt his heart clench at the thought of putting Chloe in danger. "I know, Chloe. But I can't ask you to take that risk. If something happened to you, I'd never forgive myself."

Chloe squeezed Red's hand a little tighter. "What if something happened to you, Red? I couldn't live with that either. We have to face this together."

Red sighed, feeling his resolve waver under the weight of Chloe's love and determination. "Okay, Chloe. But only if it's absolutely necessary. I want you to stay safe."

Chloe nodded, grateful that she understood. "I promise. But I'm here for you, no matter what."

The tension grew as the time for the mail delivery approached. Harry, the mailman, began calling out names. Each name call made Chloe and Red's anxiety rise.

"James Miller."

"Sophie Clark."

"Chloe Charming."

Chloe stood up to get her mail, a mixture of relief and worry in her heart. She was happy to receive news of her family, but she couldn't help but worry about Red.

The names continued to be called, and the dramatic tension grew a little more each time.

"Emma Roberts."

"Lucas Johnson."

"Isabelle Martin."

Finally, almost at the end of the list, Red heard his name. "Red Heart!"

She almost ran to get her mail, feeling a wave of relief wash over her. Chloe also felt an immense relief when she saw Red get a letter. She knew now that Red would stay by her side.

The couple quickly went up to their room, Red holding the letter tightly in his shaking hands. "I'm going to read the letter out loud," she said, eager to satisfy her curiosity and knowing that Chloe was too.

She opened the letter and began to read:

Dear Red,

Maddox is in serious condition, but he has been released and is being cared for. We are doing everything we can to see him recover, and I am optimistic that he will pull through.

However, there is something else. Your mother, the Queen, is having the rabbit hole dug. She is already halfway there and will soon be in Auradon. We need your help to find a way to block the advance from your side of the burrow.

I implore you, find a way. The fate of many lives depends on it.

With all my hope,
Eamon

At the end of the reading, Red looked at Chloe in tears. She was overwhelmed by a lot of emotions. Worry about Maddox's condition, but also relief that he was free and alive. And most of all, the anguish of knowing that her mother was coming.

Chloe took her in her arms, holding her close. "Red, I'm here. We'll figure it out together."

Red snuggled up to Chloe, feeling a little calmer under her comforting presence. “We need to go see King Ben,” she whispered, her voice trembling.

Chloe nodded. “Yes, we need to talk to him. But not right now.” Red questioned her silently, and Chloe continued. “Right now, you need a hug… and a kiss. What do you say?”

Red smiled softly and wiped away her tears before nodding frantically. “Yes, please.”

Chloe chuckled at her enthusiasm and placed a soft, comforting kiss on Red’s lips, then hugged her. She lay down, forcing Red to do the same. The redhead snuggled up to her, resting her head against her chest, and letting Chloe’s heart and caresses soothe her.

"Everything's going to be okay, Red. I promise..."

But Red had already fallen asleep, exhausted by the wave of emotions she had just felt, and didn't hear her. Chloe continued to stroke her hair until she fell asleep too.
