Chapter 4
Teagan’s head tilted a little, her dark lips curled into a smile as Flutter settled herself into a chair across from the teacup and her wings stopped their movement.
Teagan sipped her own glass, though found herself noting Flutter’s behavior quite often. Flutter always endeared her, something Teagan wouldn’t admit out loud.
Teagan’s head rested on her hand, watching Flutter drink with her proboscis. Teagan blinks slowly, her smile content and calm.
Flutter’s head titled a little, mimicking Teagan’s, who laughs.
“…” Flutter’s antennas twitch a little.
”Well dear, not all gatherings must be conversational. Sometimes a bit of quiet is what’s needed, no?” Teagan’s head stays leaning on her hand, leaning forward.
Flutter nods in agreement. Teagan smiles calmly, her other hand moving forward on the table. “More, dear?”
The two are silent besides occasional remarks, though it’s still pleasant. Teagan was right; the quiet gave a sense of peace that a discussion could never imitate.
Flutter’s wings move up and down in a pattern once she’s up again, Teagan trailing behind her towards the door of Teagan’s room.
Teagan pats Flutter’s back. “You be safe dear.”
”…!”
”…Of course. Come by when you need anything, hm?”
Teagan watches Flutter leave, the both in that same comfortable silence. She leans on the doorway, smiling in endeaarance.
