It was 9:12 PM on Saturday night. Sadie was sleeping with her teddy bear in her hands, whimpering slightly in discomfort from a nightmare. She was in a dark void in her nightmare, there was no one to help her. She called out again and again, but no one answered, she was alone. She tried everything, running to find an exit, calling out again for someone, pinching herself, but it didn't work. Her head started to hurt more and more, blurred by the television static, until...
A thunderstorm suddenly hit outside, the loud noise deafening Sadie's ears and frightening her, she began to cry loudly, her mind becoming increasingly blurry as she hugged herself, hugging the teddy bear tighter. However, Jen must have heard what was happening because she quickly went downstairs and opened the door, panicking as she rushed to Sadie's aid.
Jen hugged her tightly, patting her head and rubbing her shoulders soothingly. "Shh... Shh... It's okay, my love... What happened? Does the thunder scare you?" Sadie nodded slowly, sniffling as Jen wiped away her tears, the touch tickling her a little and making her giggle. Sadie snuggled up to Jen's chest, trying to chew on her collar, which made Jen giggle, then she picked up a pink pacifier and put it in Sadie's mouth, sucking happily as Sadie continued to cuddle Jen.
"Are you okay, my love? Do you want me to sleep with you tonight?" Jen asked, Sadie nodded as she laid her head back on the pillow, Jen hugging her teddy bear tightly as she pulled the blanket over them. "Goodnight, my sweet baby... Jen by your side..." Jen called out to her sweetly, running her hands through the little girl's hair as Sadie slowly fell asleep, smiling.
