I Am Become Death
Summary
“May we meet again” Lexa states, turning her back and marching up the hill with her guards at her side, I can do nothing but stand and stare. Even as my own people come up to ask what we do now, I can do nothing but stare at the spot where her retreating figure once stood. Something inside me has broken, the part that played the naive little girl, the part that thought somewhere inside Lexa was a human being with emotions and feelings. The part that fell in love with the girl from the ground. That part of me is broken, burnt to a crisp. The only part that remains craves bloodshed and violence, craves to see the death of all people that are not her chosen. Only Wanheda remains.“I am become death, destroyer of Worlds, and I shall burn yours to the ground” Is the promise made on the breath of the wind to carry to the commanders spirits.

Chapter 1

“To the reaper tunnels. Hopefully she didn’t sell Bellamy out as well as us. Quietly though, we cannot allow them to know” I hear echo through my head, already in motion to the trees. Moving silently as Wanheda instructs, I realize I’m alone. Rolling my eyes, I carry on forward. If they do not believe after all that has been done for them, then they shall not remain in control of the power of Wanheda after our people have been saved the torture of the mountain. With this conviction in mind, a purple ring appears on the edge of my eyes, giving an almost glowing effect that I can feel even if I cannot see it.

“What happened? Why did the commander sound the retreat?” Octavia attacks as soon as she sees me.

“She gave us up. To her our fight is over. We matter not. However, we believe otherwise and we will be getting to our people.”

“We?” Octavia questions, seeing the glowing ring on my eyes.

“We. Ai Laik Wanheda. I am become death destroyer of worlds and I will burn this mountain to the ground.” The purple ring glowing brighter with my words as the spirit of Wanheda agrees with me.

“Woo there Clarke. What the hell is wrong with you? First, how are your eyes doing that and who the hell is Wanheda? Second, we need to get into the damn mountain before we can do anything else.”

“I am Wanheda or has Lincoln failed in educating you on our spirits? Now for the mountain, worry not we will get it, even if I must break the door down to do so.” A vile smirk took place on Clarke’s face, looking as though it belongs there but doesn’t at the same time. The air seemed to chill enough that Octavia shivered looking at her. Thankfully this is the moment that the door to the mountain opened. Before Ocavia could even register who was there, Clarke had them pinned on the now open door, Lexa’s dagger at their throat.

“Hey Clarke, chill it’s just me.” Bellamy says with his hands raised, a bead of blood sliding down the base of his throat.

“Sorry.” The blunt reply comes, before Clarke turns and stalks into the mountain. Octavia and Bellamy exchange wide eyed looks before following.

“What’s the plan Clarke? You always seem to know what’s best.” The sarcastic question comes from Octavia while looking around the cage room.

“Dante has the president's key access card. While Cage may have the guard he doesn’t have unrestricted access. We get Dante and then we deal with the rest. I will see every mountain man dead by the end of this day, make no mistake in that Octavia. Lexa will pay for her betrayal as well, it was a mistake to trust in her.” The growl at the end scares both Blake siblings into simply nodding and agreeing.

“I saw them take Dante to quarantine. If we can get there we can get him. From there the control room is probably the safest space to go.” Bellamy offers quietly.

“Hmmm, yes let’s go then. Octavia find and release Monty. I need someone to program the computers.”

Sharing one last look, the Blake siblings follow behind Clarke into the heart of the mountain. Octavia breaks off from the group to utilize the vent system to find Monty, with the agreement to meet and wait for them at the control room. While Clarke and Bellamy make their way to quarantine, they come across Dr. Tsing and a small grounder child.

“You betrayed your agreement. That child was not yours to keep.” Clarke growls out, dagger already in hand.

“Now hang on, how did you even get in here? I will call the guard!” Dr. Tsing panics, looking around for anyone that has any chance of helping her. Clarke, already in motion, has her dagger at the Drs throat by the time she turns back to face the duo.

“No one to help you now. Unfortunately for you, that means that you will be the first to die tonight.” While Clarke speaks, as a last resort, Dr. Tsing takes a needle out of her pocket and jabs it into Clarkes neck. The silver liquid causing a burning sensation as Clark brings her blade across the Drs throat in response. The blood splatter covering the puncture wound and painting Clarke. With a growl she kneels down to pick the girl up and continue on their journey. “Let’s go.”

Finding their way to Dante’s room, as is forcing him out of it and towards the control room. “I am doing what is best for my people Clarke, as you are for yours. While it may be rushed, we all want to be able to see the ground again.” Dante attempts to reason with Clarke.

“While I am sure you feel that way Mr President. You will neer see the ground at the expense of my people. I will burn this mountain to the ground and your lines will end. You will never see the ground, the moment you crossed me was the end for you.” Clarke sneers, never once turning around to look at the man and keeping a brisk pace to meet at the control room where Octavia and Monty are waiting.

Making it there, Clarke kicks the door open and using her dagger grants a swift death to the two working the panels. Grabbing Dante and throwing him in the corner of the room with a barked order to Bellamy to watch him, she calls for Monty to bring up all the monitor screens of people in the mountain. With help from Octavia, they drop from the vents and Monty immediately gets to work. Octavia looks at the child in Clarkes arms and the way blood is splashed across her face, before looking at Bellamy with questions swimming in her eyes.

“The Dr had her. Clarke took offense to that.” Bellamy says as though it explains all the questions running through Octavia’s mind. With a shrug they turn back to the massive screen and see Monty has brought up the camera footage.

“Cage Wallace, this is Clarke Griffin, I give you 15 minutes to decide your people’s fate. I have your father, release my people and I shall let him and everyone remain in this prison to live out the rest of their days. Refuse and I shall burn every last person to the ground before burning your precious safe have. You have 15 minutes to decide.” Clarke announces over the intercom system, watching the faces of every mountain man look around in panic. Cage is looking at the camera in hatred, before turning to his chief security officer. “Go, find them and eliminate them!”

“Monty, I need you to disable every key card in this mountain. Then I need you to reverse the airflow. We will irradiate the mountain before eliminating the men that have received treatments.” Clarkes eyes never leave the screens, but the hand that ends up on Montys shoulder tells him all he needs to know. Fingers flying across the keyboards he disables all the cards before getting to work on the ventilation system. Clarke follow Carl Emerson as he makes his way to through the mountain after them. A vicious smile slowly appearing on her face as he gets closer. “I apologize Mr President but it appears as though your timeline of life has been decreased dramatically.” Grabbing a walkie off the table she addresses Cage personally “If you thought that sending your lap dog would help your case then you are sorely mistaken. You have now forced my hand, call off Emerson or I will kill your father here and now.”

“How do I know you even have him? You are playing a dangerous game with me girl.” Cage snarls into the walkie he grabbed off the guard next to him.

“Stay the course son.” Dante says when the walkie is shoved at him. “Is that enough evidence for you Cage?” Clarke smiles as she watches the color drain from his face on the monitor.

“I’ll take care of our people, dad.” Is the resigned response.

BANG! The gunshot echoes across the walkies of all the guards. Several jump in shock, not expecting her to actually follow through with the threat. “You are down to five minutes. Choose wisely Cage.” Clarke places the walkie down and finally turns to look at Monty, one eyebrow raised in silent question.

“Pull that lever and it will be done. Within five minutes the entire mountain's ventilation system will reverse. Outside air will enter the mountain and irradiate everyone not treated.” Monty tells her, backing away from the computer. Nodding, Clarke turns back to the screens, watching as Emerson makes his way closer and Cage has entered the room with Skaikru.

“Your decision Cage, time is up.” Clarke monotones over the walkie. One hand playing in the girls hair as she has started squirming on her hip. Cage looks at the camera in the room before turning and pointing at a couple of people chained to the wall. Seeing it as Raven and her mother, Clarke pulls the level to reverse airflow. The initial effects are instantaneous, watching as small rashes start appearing on those closest to the vents before the screaming starts. In the drilling room, the two assistants have fallen, screaming and grabbing at their arms, face, body in an attempt to make the pain stop. By the time that Cage registered what was happening, it was too late. Him, Emerson and a couple other guards were the only one’s remaining.

“Jus Drein Jus Daun.” Clarke intones into the walkie, before turning to address the others in the room. “Let’s go get our people. Monty, stay here for the moment, I have need of you.” She says, shifting the girl and opening the door. They run into Emerson further down the hall, but Octavia quickly dispatches him before they continue to move on. Coming into the drilling room, Clarke quickly goes to Ravens side and unstraps her from the table as Bellamy does the same for Abby. Octavia has started moving around the room releasing the other members of Skaikru.

“Clarke what happened? Where did they go?” Abby asks, looking at her bloodied daughter with wide eyes.

“We finished it. The mountain men are no more. The mountain is currently in lockdown, they won’t be able to get out. Octavia if you want to go find them?” Clarke intones, turning her blazing purple eyes to the girl. Octavia nods before handing the keys to Kane whom she just released and pulls her sword stalking out of the room.

“What do you mean finished it Clarke? We had allies here!!” Jasper screams from his place still chained up.

“No, you had a crush. Every person in this mountain is guilty. They all accepted the treatments and when you shared what was happening no one stopped accepting the treatments, even your so called allies. We finished it, the mountain men are no more and will never be an issue again.” She growls the final words at the naive boy.

“Clarke you cannot just commit genocide. That’s not ok ever.” Abby scolds. Clarke turning to her scoffs, “No we only kill people for wanting to save everyone and put people in isolation for a year.” Done with the conversation, Clarke picks up the small grounder girl, looking at Raven and Bellamy before stalking from the room. The pair look at each other, shrugging before Raven jogs to catch up (or as best she can).

“Jeez Clarke, wait for the cripple why don’t you.” Raven deadpans as she catches the other girl at a corner where she paused. Looking in the direction she’s facing, the dead bodies of every mountain man lay before her. “Come on, this isn’t where any of us want to linger.” She nudges Clarke back in the direction they were heading.

Returning to the control room, Clarke places the girl in a chair before addressing Monty. “I need you to disable all except the president's key card that will now be linked to me. Do a full system wipe of every other administrative access. Then we are going to disable the fog and the missile systems.” Nodding Monty turns back to the computer to complete his tasks. Raven, who had been entertaining the girl, finally turns to Clarke.

“So what’s up with the eyes?” A raised eyebrow demands an answer.

“Ai laik Wanheda. These are one of the symbols of her power and my position as her. I have some new tattoos as well but those I will not be showing.” Clarke shares with her best friend. Sighing, she sinks to the floor next to them. “Wanheda tells me that I will know more when our tasks here are complete and that I will train to be able to handle her full power but right now I simply have the eyes.”

“So from Princess to scary powerful Spirit, got it. Anything else I need to be updated on?” Raven jokes.

“Leska betrayed us. She will pay.” Clarke growls, eyes blazing in fury. “I will burn her world to the ground before I accept any form of apology. Only when Heda is on her knees before me will my spirit be settled.”

“Wow ok, remind me not to get on your bad side. So what are you going to do then?”

“Once we return everyone to Camp then I will head to Ton DC, that will be their first stop as it is closest to rest and recover before continuing to Polis. Hopefully I will catch up to them there, if not then I will speak to Indra about continuing the peace for Skaikru on Trikru lands until I can see if we can become an official part of the coalition. With your knowledge of tek and our advanced farming techniques we should be able to make a case for our usefulness.”

“Wow, you’ve really thought this out Princess. Well let me know what you need. You’re my sister despite everything, and I will stand by you.” Raven lays her hand on Clarkes shoulder, before turning back to the girl. At this point Monty has finished and the only thing left to do is lock the mountain when they exit. Handing the presidents card to Clarke, they make their way out of the room and back to the rest of their people.

“Ok, we are leaving. Anyone that needs assistance, find a partner and they will help you back to Camp but it’s time to go.” Clarke announces as soon as they enter the room. She spots Octavia in the back near her brother, raising an eye in question she smiles at the nod she receives in return.

“What do you mean Clarke? We cannot make it back there tonight. We should stay the night and leave tomorrow. We can evaluate what will be useful in here in the meantime.” Abby returns shocked that her daughter would suggest leaving so suddenly.

“No. This is a tomb, not a place to stay. We leave now.” The remaining members on The 100 nod and make their way out the door, their parents slowly following behind. The Blake siblings taking up the rear, only Abby, Kane, and Clarke remained staring one another down in defiance.

“Abby come on, we can always come back and get anything we need. There are patients to be seen too.” Kane’s voice drifted through the air, soft and yet stern at the same time. A defeated sigh escaped Abby before she nodded and allowed Kane to lead her from the room, Clarke following behind them.

Upon exiting the mountain, the 100 had taken point, beginning to lead the group back where they knew camp was. Monty and the Blake siblings were waiting by the door and nodded to Kane and Abby as they exited before turning to Clarke.

“Ready to go Princess?” Bellamy asked, a slight smirk adorning his face now that the fear was dealt with.

“Yea let’s go. I’ll close and lock this down when you hit the trees. The less people that know how to get in the safer it is for everyone.” They nodded, turning and following the rest of the group.

“Clarke, no one must ever use what is in this mountain again. There are too many dangers.” Wanheda shares, her voice like my own and yet different. Echoing silent in my head where only I can hear. Nodding in silent response, I entered the card Monty gave me into the keypad to the left of the door and put the mountain into lockdown, before giving the command to cave in part of the reaper tunnels. Once done, I turn to the doors, feeling as if it’s not enough. That everyone must know that to enter here is to face the wrath of Wanheda.

“Mark it. Use the power flowing between us and mark the door. Close your eyes, breathe. Place a hand on the door and release the power through your fingertips.” Wanheda instructs. Voice quiet as it floats through me, a comfort. Reaching my left hand out, taking a deep breath I search for the connection to Wanheda flowing through me and out my fingertips marking the door of the mountain as ours, a warning to all that may come to follow. Turning, the purple rings blazing through my eyes more than ever, I walk to catch up with the rest of the group. Taking the small grounder child from Raven and getting ready to make my way to camp.
