Prologue
Xinyu left her friend's house late at night, and drove fast to get home before her dad could feel her absence. When she turned around a corner, a girl on a bike almost collided with her car, and she stepped on the brake rapidly, avoiding an accident by millimeters. The girl threw her bike on the road and, visibly furious, came to Xinyu's car, stopping outside of the car door and knocking almost violently on the window of the grayish Mustang GT she had recently got from her dad.
— Are you insane??? — the biker girl said, shocked, when the window's down — Can't you see while driving? How did you get your license? — and she finally took a breath.
— My bad — she answered sincerely, taking a peek on the girl. Her short hair looked good with her fierce eyes, and she was wearing a oversized hoodie and a pair of beige cargo pants — I need to get home soon, that's why I was speeding up, I didn't expect anyone to be in these streets this late.
— Yeah, you almost made sure no one was left in here — she rolled her eyes and left out a sigh — Just be a lot more careful the next time, milady — and then she left.
Before she could even process what the girl said, she was long gone. Then Xinyu also left, a little less fast than earlier. Before getting home, she got a mental note saying "be careful not to run over a pretty girl" and she finally entered the garage and inside the house trying her best not to be loud, and sleeping after a couple minutes laying down.
A week after the almost hit-and-help situation, the chinese girl didn't even remember what had happened, and just kept her rich and carefree life, since her dad fulfilled all her needs and more.
— Baby, I need to tell you something — her father knocked on her door.
— Wait a second, dad — she opened a message from one of her friends.
"Money laundering scheme is discovered" was the title of the news that appeared on her phone. A picture of her dad.
— Dad, what the fuck? — she opened the door, showing her phone to him.
— That's the thing I wanted to tell you about, love — he had a sheepish look on his face — I didn't want you to discover like this, but yeah, it's true. A couple time from now, the front will be full of people, and I don't want you to be here to see.
— You're getting arrested, aren't you? — she said with a tearful voice — What am I gonna do now?
— You'll go away, where the jornalists nor anyone can get to you. Please, just get your suitcase and fill with your things as fast as you can, and ask some of your friends if you can crash on their couches for a couple days. I'm gonna be okay — he hurried her, kissed her forehead and got her a cab. When she left, waving bye, she did what she could to keep her tears away.
