The Child of Prophecy-and child she is, was Aesc ever able to be so young and impetuous?-looks at her with burning eyes and Morgan sees she thinks of herself as a star, lighting up the blackness of Fairy Britain.
There are no stars here-just a perpetual sunset, and Morgan will not cast herself as the villain in this child's story. It would have been better for her-for the child, for the land-if she had been killed in her cradle by Woodwose as Morgan intended, but it was simple enough now to curtail that mistake.
