Figuring things out

Vi and Caitlyn made it back down to the basement after leaving the rooftop. It was near early morning now and the pair had spent the night talking and realizing the feelings they had for each other even if it was very quick.

"Vi! You're ok!" Powder yelled rushing over to her older sister practically tackling her to the floor. Caitlyn backed away as a precaution.

"Of course I am Pow Pow. I wouldn't leave you." Vi reassured her sister embracing the girl in a hug while Powder began to cry. This whole thing had been hard on both of them.

Noticing the other person in the room, Powder gave Cait a suspicious look wondering why the hell the girl from the apartment they ransacked was down in their basement. "What is she doing here?"

"Her names Caitlyn. She's cool with us so don't worry."

That didn't do much to eliminate Powder's concern. For all she knew Caitlyn could be a spy.

"If you say so sis." Powder said taking her sisters word and trusting Cait.

Vi let go of her and began attempting to walk back over to the bed but started limping. How in the world was this the same girl that was just jumping around from building to building?

Caitlyn rolled her eyes and assisted her friend. "For someone that can hardly stand you sure put up a tough girl act back over on the rooftops."

Vi didn't appreciate being called out. "If I don't then how will you feel safe around me cupcake?" She joked as Caitlyn's face turned red realizing Powder heard the ridiculous nickname.

The two girls sat next to each other on the bed as Powder made her way up to the top bunk. Usually the bottom bunk was her bed but since Vi was injured it would be easier for her to sleep on it instead.

Vi leaned her head on Caitlyn's shoulder once more. She was worried about how they'd continue to hang out considering Cait's parents would probably lock her away for life since she dared to disobey staying home.

"What's on your mind Violet?" Caitlyn asked sensing her uneasiness.

"You and me. How we can see each other. I don't think you can come back down here by yourself so how is this going to work?"

Vi was right. It wasn't going to be easy to pursue whatever they had going on. Hell Caitlyn was terrified to go home just because she knew she really messed up this time by sneaking out.

'I should be mad I made this choice but I can't.'

"Well you could always come to my place and help me sneak out by my window. I used to get girls in that way all the time." Caitlyn proposed trying to come up with a solution to their problem.

Vi was stunned. Caitlyn sneaking girls in her room? She didn't expect that from her. Maybe Cait was more badass than she originally thought. Was this how she knew to get in and out of Vi's hospital room? "Never would've thought you had a troublemaking side to you cupcake."

"Guess I'm pretty unpredictable then." Cait teased running her hand through Vi's hair. It was much softer than she expected.

That was enough to make Vi fall asleep with Caitlyn following soon after.

-

"God! What kind of demon possesed our daughter to sneak out with that under city trash!? And out to Zaun no less!" Cassandra argued upset at the fact Caitlyn had disobeyed her and Grayson.

It wasn't hard to figure out where her daughter went considering Vi had also disappeared from the hospital.

"And how did you not notice? I told you to station a nurse in that menaces room at all times incase Cait had the bright idea to try and be rebellious!" She added pointing the blame towards her husband Tobias who had been requested to specifically find someone to keep an eye on Vi.

Tobias scoffed, "Shouldn't you have stationed enforcers outside our home for this exact reason? Now we have to pray dear Grayson finds her before something bad happens. Lord knows what kind of people will prey on her down there Cassandra!"

The two went back and forth passing the blame onto each other rather than actually doing something to find their daughter.

Meanwhile, Grayson made her way down to Zaun walking to the Last Drop out in search of the girls. She felt Caitlyn had helped Vi get back home since with Vi's injuries it wouldn't be easy for her to do it on her own. Plus Caitlyn had been hellbent on seeing Vi so that was another big factor.

'I hope this experience doesn't make the young Kiramman think it's a good idea to start coming down here all on her own..'

Hoping her suspicions were right, Grayson pushed opened the bar doors and walked towards the counter where Vander stood pouring drinks.

Vander turned his attention to face the woman, "Ah Grayson. It's been quite awhile. I have a hunch as to why you've come here but I think it's better that you lay it on me." He said handing the enforcer one of the glasses.

She wearily took the drink and sat on the bar stool. "Young Kiramman and your daughter went missing from Piltover yesterday. I assume they'd be downstairs, correct?"

Vander sighed, "So that's who the other one down there with my girls is. I had no idea they came here until I went to check on poor Powder."

-

It was about time for the bar to open. Vander got out of his bed and headed down to the basement to check and see if Powder was alright. He feared she may not have gone to sleep and stayed up to wait on Vi. Quietly cracking open the door, he peeked into the room seeing the boys sprawled out on the couches and Powder uptop of Vi's bed sleeping.

But unexpectedly, Vi was passed out on her sisters bunk sitting up resting her head on a person he didn't recognize. She had dark blue hair and definitely seemed to be too well groomed to be from Zaun. Confusion rang through his head as he tried to piece together when Vi had gotten back home and just exactly who she brought with her was.

Vander probably should've waken the two to ask about who the unfamiliar face was but they seemed so peaceful he decided to leave it for later when they awoke or someone came forth claiming the girl.

He closed the door just as quietly as he had opened it and headed upstairs to tend to business.

-

A smile smile crept onto Vander's face, "I'd not wake the two if I were you. I know you need to get the little lady back down to her folks but the girls seem harmonious."

Harmonious huh?

Curious on what he meant, Grayson put the glass down and Vander lead her over to where the door of the basement lied. She opened it and silently crept down to the room. Yup. That was Caitlyn in there. Vander was right, they did really look harmonious. She didn't wanna disturb the duo but Cassandra and Tobias were flipping out wanting their daughter back.

"Caitlyn we need to go back home now." Grayson said gently nudging the girls shoulder to wake her up. Alarmed, Caitlyn shot up also startling Vi in the process.

"Grayson I want to stay here. Can't you just make up a lie for my parents and come back to get me later?" Cait begged trying to persuade the enforcer to leave her be. Grayson wished she could but that wasn't an option right now. "Young Kiramman your parents are worried about you after you left without reasoning. You know as much as I do you need to get home and apologize for causing panic over your disappearance."

Even with the reasoning she knew was very true, Caitlyn still didn't want to go back home.

Vi whispered in Caitlyn's ear noticing her stubbornness, "Go with the enforcer and make this easier on yourself. I'll figure out where you live and come see you."

Caitlyn eyed her friend and gave a suspicious look.

"Promise?"

"I swear on it." Vi swore reaching out to hold Cait's hand as a symbol of keeping her word.

Caitlyn held on to her for a minute and then very much unwantedly joined Grayson to go back to her home.

-

A week and a half went by and no sign of Vi. Caitlyn had given up hope she'd kept her promise. But she also believed maybe Vi just never figured out where she lived.

'Should I go back to the under city and ask if she needs help finding where I live?'

'On second thought, maybe she doesn't care about me at all. The rooftop? I bet that's where she takes other girls all the time. Perhaps that kiss wasn't anything special at all..'

Caitlyn couldn't shake these pessimistic thoughts from her head.

Her parents were not thrilled when Grayson had dragged her back from the little 'adventure' Caitlyn had went on that day. Especially since it consisted of her visiting the forbidden under city. Hell, if they knew half the shit she got up to with Vi they'd never let her leave this place ever again.

So therefore now she was grounded to her room forbade from going outside without someone accompanying her to prevent further 'incidents'.

There wasn't much to do up here. Out of utter boredom she snuck into her mother's sewing room and stole some knitting supplies. It wasn't easy to figure out how to properly use them. Caitlyn wanted to make a sweater but instead somehow created a suspicious looking rectangle.

'This is never going to work out..'

Giving up in frustration, Caitlyn flopped back onto her bed and began staring at the ceiling. At least that would never break a promise.

"Caitlyn darling you alright?" Cassandra asked opening the bedroom door and walking inside taking a seat next to her daughter on the bed.

Great. Could she not just leave her alone.

"I'm fine. Just slightly tired is all." Caitlyn lied putting on her award winning poker face that she had inherited from her mother.

Cassandra sighed and put her arm around Caitlyn, "I know you're upset about not being able to see your little friend Viola,"

"Violet.

"Right, uh Violet, but don't be mad at your father and I. This is for the best and you'll see that eventually. Zaun is a dangerous place for us and no good for you to be down there where who knows what can happen." Cassandra said trying to explain her reason for being upset with Caitlyn.

"You say all this yet you've never been to the under city. Have you ever thought about why Zaun is the way it is? Because we turn a blind eye to the peoples suffering and that's what contributes to it. Maybe if the council tried to navigate and solve the issues then it can be safer." Caitlyn shot back angered her mother only thought about Zaun being dangerous and not why it was dangerous. Clearly the didn't see eye to eye.

Cassandra was taken aback slightly enraged at her daughters accusations, "I have too! You don't know what you're talking about. It takes more than just realizing what causes the issues to get a solution Caitlyn."

"Get out, please. I wish to be left alone right now." Caitlyn demanded turning away from her mother.

Knowing there was nothing she could say to change her mind, Cassandra respected her daughter's wishes and headed for the door.

"Before I go," She said facing the girl once more, "Come talk to me when you've stopped feeling sympathy for those who don't deserve it and your heads not filled with whatever your Zaun friend told you. Then we can have civil conversation and you can begin to understand where father and I come from."

'Whatever lies your Zaun friend told you.'

Was her mother insane? Did she really think Vi filled her head with lies to get her to turn against the Kiramman values?

Caitlyn ignored her mother's words and stayed agitatedly on her bed thinking back over the conversation. Almost out of nowhere she heard scratching coming from somewhere.

The window.

She knew exactly what it was and without hesitation rushed to open the window. As she expected, there was Vi, waiting. She hadn't forgotten her promise.

"Thank god you came back for me." Caitlyn said desperately pulling Vi in for a kiss shocking the girl who happily embraced it.

"First off, wow, and second, I don't break promises. Vander was mad about the whole heist and me getting injured thing so it took a minute for me to get a chance to come back." Vi apologized explaining her absence.

This made Caitlyn feel dumb for doubting Vi.

"I'm so happy you came back but you've gotta stay quiet. I just got in a fight with my mother about the under city and you." Caitlyn warned not feeling at ease since someone might come up and catch the two together.

Sensing how she was feeling Vi had the perfect idea to get away from it all. "Then come with me and take a risk. I know the best place to hideaway."
