Dani:

The holidays were coming up and I had no money and no job, and was still living at Manon's house. I felt bad for mooching on her life but she's been really helpful. She said even when I find a home she'll keep paying for my therapy. she's an angel I swear.

I work up earlier than I usually do, which thank god for that because I would've missed Manon in a sports bra, sweaty back from her jog. I stared at her for a while until I noticed something on her back, two parallel vertical scars 4 inches away from each other, it was bad. She turns to face me and waves "Oh hey you awake," She says taking off her shoes, I nod "I was looking for a house since I've been staying here for so long, once I get a job" She stares at me for a while and her mood changes "Just live with me," She says plainly as she heads into her room, to shower.

Curious about the scars on her back, I go into her room while she's showering. I wasn't trying to snoop or anything, but she's never told me anything about her past or that she had those scars. I look all around her room, I finally look under her bead and grab a box. I open the box and it has files on me, and two books one called 'How to Keep a Girl Happy' and 'Rules' This was interesting, I go to read the rule book when I feel a hand on my shoulder "Woah snoop much" I jump at the touch and whip my head back "I-I'm so sorry" I start freaking out I didn't want to get hit or yelled at, she just readjust herself and smiles at me and hums "It's okay, I didn't mean to scare you" She tells me as she outs one of my hand in hers. We than sit on the couch and she tells me everything

Processing the information was hard enough but once it was processed, coming to terms with it was even harder. As she kept talking something she says catches my eye "What do you mean the end of December?" I asked, no idea why but I was genuinely nervous "I'm your guardian angel, and since you seem to have gotten better I've done my job" I stare at her "You didn't answer my question, what do you mean the end of December?" She gives me sad eyes "Dani, I leave at the end of December that's how I'll get my wings back" she points to the scars on her back "A long time ago they held me down and sawed off my wings, it was three hours of excruciating pain, I was a wingless angel in heaven... he promised me new wings if I completed this task" She sighs, and I want to feel bad "So was this all a trick" I say my voice getting louder as I can feel tear forming in my eyes, my vision getting hazy.

She jus looks at me "you can't do this to me, please stay.. I'll get worse if you leave" she just looks at me "Manon please, I don't care that your my angel I need you... I love you" her eyes widen in shock before she gets an angered expression on her face "Dani you can't just say that, I've taken care of you this whole fucking time, that's my job" she yells at me and I know she regrets it as soon as she does, I burst into tears I just couldn't help it anymore "Why can't I say how I feel, you do realize I have a say in this right, my boyfriend dies" "you mean your boyfriend who's a dick?" she says snarky

"that's still my boyfriend and I lost him, and now I'm losing you.. I don't know what makes you think that I can lose you too, it being your job or not and why the fuck am I not allowed to say I love you"

"You can't just throw out words you don't know the meaning to, you probably read the part if I fell in love than I can choose to stay, so don't throw that word around" She says crossing her arms

"Manon I do love you, I'm in love with you I've been so miserable and you come around and I see colors again. I love you more than I ever loved Zach, I'm not using this as a leverage. I want you, I love you and I wish I had you forever but honestly if I get to stay with you I'm fine with the end of December" I say tears streaming my face now.

Her eyes soften as she cups my face with her hands she leans in "I'm so sorry Dani, I love you too I promise" and with that she kisses me, something I wish I had felt sooner, her lips soft on mine I feel her tongue ask for permission to enter my mouth which I allow, The kiss turns rough as she pushes me to lay down on my back. I get antsy as I wait for something to happen, she tugs on my shirt as if asking for permission to take it off, I nod now gasping for air from the kiss as she lifts my shirt over my head "God your so beautiful" she says as she takes of her own shirt to reveal a lace black bra. She continues to kiss me a trail of kisses and bite marks go down my neck, as she goes to unclip my bra she pauses, she now sits on top of me paused "Dani, we can't do this" I nod as I pull my face up to her face and kiss her "Just let me have this as a goodbye" She nods as tears start to flow from her eyes I can taste the mixture of salvia and salt from the tears.

As she bites down on my neck and takes my bra off she stares at my chest for a few seconds, before taking one of my nipples into her mouth, which makes me let out an involuntary moan, her other hand roaming around my body, her eyes darken as she slowly takes off my shorts-

Both of our breathing heavy as I know lay on top of here, my bra back on and us cuddling, I always make impulsive choices especially when emotional. But that, I would do again. "I really do love you so much" I say to her as she kisses me one more time and hums.

Manon:

After last night Dani had been just staying in her room, Blasting music, I decided to go out to the hill and talk to the big man himself, After last night and what she said I decided to stay on earth with her, I loved her more than anything on this world, heaven or earth. I'd give up my wings for her any day of the week. When I contact him he responds immediately "Manon, how's the mission with the girl" He asks still in his powerful voice "You were right, I fell in love, and I don't want my wigs all I want is her and I wouldn't mind not being able to fly anymore" He chuckles and he goes to his normal voice "I told you so-" he than goes silent, as if he's gotten a vision "Manon I can't let you do that" I look at him confused "Why not, I'm truly in love and I accept the fact that I'll never see heaven again" he sighs "I take back my word, you can stay here as long as you like, and when you come back to heaven I'll give you your wings" I look at him confused, the change of his heart was out of nowhere, And I now wonder what he saw in his vision. I focus on something he said earlier "What do you mean when, and not if" I ask

He sighs "My child you will end up coming back, and I'm so sorry I sent you on this mission, I thought you would maybe like her but not actually fall in love, I mean you told her the truth that you were her angel" He chuckles again and with one more sad look at me he disappears.

I knew Dani was at therapy right now, So I decided to go and get her a Christmas gift to give her on the way back, I decided to get her a necklace with angel wings, and a stuffed animal white rabbit. I had them wrap it at the check out area. I than headed to get her favorite Ice cream mint chocolate chip, and that it was the hour drive to her therapy, when I was thirty minutes away I sent her a text telling her I was on my way to pick her up.. no response, 10 minutes away and I text her again to ask her if she'll be waiting outside or if she wants me to pick her up. I waited in the parking lot for a few minutes before heading in. I walk to the front desk to check on her, they tell me the room number and I head in. There is a worried Mrs., clementine I think her name was "Hey did one of Dani's friends pick her up?" I ask the lady in the chair and she looks at me "I thought she was with you? she told me that you were spending holidays together and she couldn't make it" My eyes widen in worry "She told me that Lara drove her here to see you" I quickly run out of the building and book it to Laras house. calling her on the way there "Is Megan and Dani with you" I asked in a panic voice "No, I haven't heard from her I tried calling her" I speed back to our house, now a police chase because I went through multiple red lights. Police sirens following me.
I quickly open the door to the inside of my house and check all the rooms, she's not there and I finally check the guest room, I open the door, I hear police men yelling at me to put my hands up. But I tune it out I look forward to see the Daniela the one girl I've truly loved hanging. A letter beneath her. The police men now moving to get her down instead of arresting me. Didn't even realize I was crying, Her lifeless body dropped to the ground as police men catch her. her eyes motionless, as you can see the tear stains etched on her face. as I look around The room I see empty pill bottles and lying underneath her was the dog I gave her, whimpering and whining. As the EMS took her body out of the house they handed me a note

Dear Manon,
Thank you for everything you have done for me, I'm glad I died knowing you than not. I'm sorry you had to come home to this, but I truly did love you and I'm glad you loved me to. I didn't want to make you give up your wings, please always remember me. Thank you for paying for my therapy, for all the cuddles and for your patience with me. You saved my life, it's not your fault I was going to die anyway, You will always be the best thing ever in my life and in every life I hope I find you in it, I left a gift in the closet, you keep what's in there take it to heaven with you please and give Mr. sprinkles to Lara and Megan. I'm sorry I lied to you, but I didn't want you to have to stay here because you felt obligated to me, When you love someone you have to let them go. So please enjoy heaven, maybe one day I'll see you there. In the next life, I promise you that love.

This was happening to fast I rush towards the closet and open it to see a heart locket with a one side being a picture of her and Mr. sprinkles and the other being the picture of me and her that we had an old couple take of us while ice skating. I put the necklace on.

I spend the next three days on earth, first day getting Danis birthday along with her name tattooed on my arm. Second her funeral, I had them put on the necklace that I got her before burying her so she has a piece of me. and third giving Mr. sprinkles to Megan and Lara, they bawled their eyes out at the funeral with me, and thanked me for taking care of her and took the dogs into their own hands.

And I finally go back to heaven…
