Watching Mushroom dig into the pink rice he'd made him, Zeff was glad to see the moody vampire enjoy his food instead of vomiting it all over his restaurant. The vampire had a smile on his face and tears running down his cheeks as he stuffed his mouth. As a chef he couldn't imagine going years without being able to even taste food.
He'd have to call Eggplant later on when she was awake. She should be proud of her achievement. Zeff was glad she had come home to where she belonged.
Zeff knew the reason she left and hated the bastards that had hurt his daughter. The damn Vinsmokes had forced her into a sham of a marriage and they ended up dead because of their foolishness.
“I must meet your daughter.” Mushroom demanded, clutching the last onigiri like someone would take it from him. With Meatball sitting next to him, that might be a smart move.
“Wait, you have a daughter?” Broccoli asked, bewildered. “I didn't know you had any family at all.”
“Meatball, hit your beta for me will ya?” Zeff grumbled glaring at the green haired wolf as Luffy gleefully hit her on top of her head. “Her picture is all over my wall.” Zeff gestured to the various photos and art of Sanji on his walls. “She moved into the old Moria place, and Franky fixed it up.” Zeff was planning on convincing her to start gardening, something to get her out of the house. He was worried about her, vampires could rot away turning to dust if they grew old and sad enough. Miwhak had warned him about it. He didn't know the age it usually happened but he wasn't taking that risk. The fresh produce was just a bonus.
Zoro stood up from her seat and stood in front of the latest photo. Modern technology finally allowed Vampires to be seen in photos, so they had taken that photo shortly after Sanji had returned home where she belonged. Zeff recognized that look on their face, one of awe, he had seen many a Were with that love struck look on their face.
“Zoro! Is she your mate?” Luffy asked, pausing in between bites. Luffy in fact had been the last one he'd seen.
“I think so,” Zoro shrugged. “But I haven't met her yet, I caught her scent though.” They turned their head, her silver eyes boring into him. “What's her name?”
“Sanji.” Zeff hadn't meant to become a matchmaker in his old age but yet here he was helping these damn kids figure themselves out. “She will be coming to the egg festival tomorrow.” He would make damn sure of that, if she was going to be back in town she needed to be a part of it once again. “Don't fuck it up.” Zeff warned. “She's a sensitive soul, don't break her heart or I will break you.” Zeff didn't like to hurt women, but he would make an exception for his eggplant.

It was dark, a void, empty of everything. Almost as if she was dead forever this time.
Merrily we sailed along
Though the waves were plenty strong
Down the twisting river Rhine
Following a song
Legend's faded storyline
Tried to warn us all
Oh, they called her "Loreley"
Careful or you'll fall
A familiar sound startled Sanji awake, she groaned into her pillow, she felt Brie hop down from where he had been laying on top of her. Feeding off of her nightmares, hence the lack of a dream, as her familiar it was one of his abilities. Sanji groaned and buried her face in her blue silk pillow.
“It's Zeff,” Brie spoke, clearly glancing at her phone. “Or one of the chefs calling for him.” That would explain why it was the general ringtone and not Zeff's.
“Ugh, damn geezer,” Sanji growled before lifting her head and grabbing her phone. “You realize it's ten in the morning!” She snapped rubbing her hand against her eyes fighting a yawn. She hadn't been asleep for long;, she had stayed up far too early busy experimenting with a new bloody recipe. She almost had the ratio right.
“The egg festival started an hour ago, the local vamps will show up soon. Get your ass outta bed and come into town. I have something I wanna talk about. Be there or I'll drag you into town myself.” Zeff hung up before Sanji could say anything else.
“Damn it!” Sanji cursed glaring at her phone.
Brie bumped his head against her arm. “Come on Sanji, it will be fun.” He encouraged her. “We can meet the vampire that Zeff mentioned, the one who ate the onigiri get some feedback before you post the recipe online.”
Sanji reluctantly sat up. “You're right. Let's get ready.” Sanji stocked his white head with her fingertips as he purred, closing his golden eyes.
Sooner than she would have liked Sanji pulled off her covers and pulled back the gauze curtains from around her bed and climbed out of the warmth. Stepping on the lush rugs that covered the wood floors, Sanji opened the bedroom curtains. The window panes were treated to keep her safe. The sun brightened the dimly lit room as she walked to her wardrobe opening the baby blue doors, and began pulling out white stockings and lace gloves before going through her clothes. She didn't know exactly what she was going to wear, just something light.
Brie hopped into the wardrobe and pawed at a pale blue dress with darker blue roses, the dress had little puff sleeves and went down to her knees. “This one!” Sanji laughed, and took the dress out.
“You know for a cat you're very opinionated when it comes to clothes.” Sanji took out some shoes to go with the dress.
“Yeah, well, if it's not a suit half the time your fashion choices are a bit questionable,” Brie told her before cleaning his white furry paw. Brie was a Flocked Donskoy, he was mostly hairless but with white fuzzy paws and legs almost like he was wearing leg warmers from the 80s. “Beside you make me match whatever you're wearing, it's only fair I get a say.”
“Fine I'll let it go this time.” She told him, picking out a sweater for him to wear.
Sanji slid her blue lace panties up her legs and then her matching garter belt. She hadn't felt the need to change her style from her past all that much. Just updated it a bit. She did enjoy a nice pant suit, the slight clean lines that made her legs look even longer. But she wanted to make a good impression upon the town, for old and new faces.
It had been ages since she returned home. After the Vinsmoke massacre with only her as the survivor (due to her being a vampire at the time) she had hid herself, moving from city to city avoiding the rather large Charlotte family for fear of them finding her and killing her, or worse: finding the valley that was a sanctuary for the supernatural of all kinds. Unfortunately her eyebrows were a dead give away, no matter what she tried there was no hiding them.
Sanji took a seat on her vanity table to finish getting ready after she was finished dressing. Brie hopped on and laid across her table making a nuisance of himself, but she couldn't be too mad at him. He was her oldest and dearest companion. The only reason she had kept going because when she dies so does he.
