Style

To start off our actual discussion of The World of Marvels, let’s talk about the visual style of this realm.

The characters from the Walt Disney Animation Studios projects would still be depicted in their classic 2D designs.

The 3D characters would be depicted in their official 2D style, which you often see in official merchandise.

The same goes for the Pixar and Book of Life characters as well.

The first statement also applies to the characters from the animated shows as well.

With the exception of the American Dragon: Jake Long characters, who would be back to the art-style of Season 1.

And I already know that’s gonna be weird for a lot of people since remember, they also share the same world as the characters from Gargoyles.

But then again, Lilo & Stitch had four crossover between four shows with completely art-styles.

And despite existing in the same world, they still retain the styles from their respective shows.

As for the live-action properties.

Mary Poppins would be in the trademark Disney style.

The Timekeeperwould be in the style of Shane Glines.

And if that name sounds familiar, that’s because he’s served as a character designer for a lot of DC cartoons.

This includes The New Batman Adventures, BatmanBeyond, Justice League, Beware the Batman, Justice League Action, and Harley Quinn.

I don’t know why, but I feel like it would just fit him.

Indiana Jones (Yeah he’s gonna be a character in this series) would be in the style of Jay Stephens.

The creator behind the comics The Land of Nod and Dwellings, and the animated series Tutenstein and The Secret Saturdays.

You can clearly tell that Jay’s styles harkens to the art of old comic books from the like the mid-20th century.

And I think that style would fit Indy quite perfectly.

The Star Wars characters would be in the same style as Genndy Tartakovsky’sStar Wars: Clone Wars.

The Pirates of the Caribbean and Jungle Cruise characters would be in the style of Giovanni Rigano, who did a lot of art for the POTC comics.

The 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Center of the Earth characters would be in the style of Mike Mignola.

Actually, on the topic of that choice.

This is essentially a case of everything coming full circle.

As I’m sure many of you know by now, Mike Mignola famously served as a lead character designer for Atlantis: The Lost Empire.

And Atlantis took heavy inspiration from the works of Jules Verne, specifically the aforementioned 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and Journey to the Center of the Earth.

So once again, everything’s finally coming full circle!

The Swiss Family Robinson characters would be in the style of Sean Galloway.

And The Island at the Top of the World characters would be in the style of James Tucker, the character designer behind The Legion of Super Heroes and Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

And now we come to The World of Marvels.

The art-style of their realm would be done by the always incredible @sabrerine911!

As for the overall aesthetic of the realm, it is unapologetically that of the comics, with hardly any MCU-influence in sight.

Marvel’s Super Hero City itself would be heavily inspired by Marvel Super Hero Island, from Island of Adventures at Universal Studios Orlando.

P.S.: Since Disney would officially have a Marvel-themed land in one of their parks, I think it’s safe to say that Marvel Super Hero Island wouldn’t be around anymore.
