The Talk
Shinsou was worried. After the whole scar incident everything seemed to only go down for Denki and it seemed to take toll on him he had hard time paying attention it seemed like his eating problems were getting seeing as he was basically worse the stuttering didn’t seem to want to go away and he seemed to either not sleep at all or always oversleep and be late for lessons and gain detention after detention and if he did sleep he always looked like he was on verge of tears and barely holding up so yes he was very worried even more when whenever he tried to ask Denki what's wrong he just shut off like he was ashamed or scared of something and it was just breaking his heart and apparently he wasn’t the only person who was worried because now he was questioned by his dad about it
“Well?”
“I can’t really tell you much because I don’t know everything and can tell you even less than I know without breaking Denki’s trust but he has problems. A lot of them. And it includes problems with eating.” Aizawa frowned at that. It was noticeable that Kaminari lost a lot of weight lately but to get confirmation that he was struggling with eating was even more worrying
“...How bad is it?”
“It wasn’t the worst it could be but at this point I don’t know. It looks like it’s gotten worse since he got the scar but that was really a lot for him. And he keeps blaming himself for Mineta’s expulsion and it’s not helping that people keep talking and asking him to cover the damn scar” the incident happen a few weeks ago but all this things haven’t stopped and it was annoying that people didn;t seem to want to mind their own business some still bugging Denki to cover the scar like he asked for it
“Have you tried talking to him about it? Or tried to get him to talk to a guidance counselor or someone from stuff he trusts?”
“Yeah but he doesn’t really trust any adult here and he is too scared to talk about him because he’s convinced that there’s nothing wrong that’s even more concerning and when I ask him more he just deflects”
“You wouldn’t happen to know what his homelife looks like?”
“The only thing I know is that he’s coming to hogwart bruised every time he goes home and he’s scared of loud sounds. And at this point I already told you too much. I can’t tell you more without him freaking out if he finds out.”
“Alright. I will talk to the head of his house to refer him to the guidance counselor but i’ll tell him not to tell Denki exactly why. I’m he is worried about Denki as well so it won’t be hard convincing him”
“I’ll try to convince Denki to actually go”
“Good. Now go before you’ll be late for class”
Shinsou didn’t really like the history of magic but he liked the fact that slytherin had this class with hufflepuff so he had a chance to see his kitten between classes which was always nice even if it was only for a while and they could talk for only 5 five minutes before lesson start. Right now he watched Denki who was trying to not fall asleep but the boring subject of the lesson didn’t help him. It seemed like he didn’t sleep much that night. Fortunately it was their last lesson today so he will be able to go to sleep soon.
“Hey cutie wake up” Shinsou whispered, tapping Denki on the shoulder “Class ends in 15 minutes, think you can stay awake?”
“Mhm… I-i’m no-ot s-sleep-ping” Denki was practically sleeping as he was talking clearly holding back a yawn and rubbing his eyes. He looked really cute.
“Yeah sure. Try to stay awake, you'll be able to go to sleep somewhere more comfortable than the class desk once the class is over okay?”
“Mhm” they still had a few minutes of the boring class left and both were not pleased about it and it seemed to only get longer and longer instead of shorter but after those few painfully long minutes they were finally dismissed
“Thi-is ha-ad t-to b-be lo-ong-ger th-than fif-fteen-n mi-inute-es” Denki said yawning right after he finished talking and looking like he could fall asleep any moment
“It felt long but it was fifteen minutes you’re just sleepy so it felt even longer. Now come on you can finally go to sleep” after Shinsou said he watched his absolute sweetheart of a boyfriend blush and mumble something that he couldn’t understand “can you repeat that? I couldn’t hear you”
“I-i do-on’t w-wa-ant to le-eave you… s-so can I ma-aybe g-go to yo-our do-orm or you come to mi-ine?” Denki said now all bright red
“sure if you want that I didn’t have anything planned so we can do that now get up you’re going to sleep before I’ll have to carry sleeping you to your room without knowing the password to your common room”
“Okay” Denki said taking his bag and leading his (very handsome and sweet) boyfriend to his common room (stumbling into things a few times because of how sleepy he was) and moment later they were cuddled up on Denki’s bed with Denki nearly sleeping while Shinsou was once again playing with his hair
“What are you going to do when i’ll sleep?”
“Once I somehow get bored of playing with your hair I’ll borrow one of your books. You always have one on night stand”
“Mkay… you’re so warm…”
“And you’re super cute. Now sleep at least a little bit” Shinsou kissed top of his Love’s head
“mhm” after that Denki was immediately asleep.
It was quiet for the next 30 minutes of Denki’s nap Shinsou started to make small braids out of Denki’s hair trying not to yank his hair accidentally and avoid making knots in his hair when Denki started to move his head a little and mumble some things. He didn’t think more of it and just wrote it up to sleep talking or Denki slowly waking up until he heard whimpering now that was more concerning and brought more of his attention because that shouldn’t happen he looked down at Denki’s face and he seemed to have distressed look on his face like he was having a nightmare.
“Denki Kitten wake up” Shinsou tried shaking him gently to wake Denki up from the nightmare but to not scare him too much. It took a while but Denki finally woke up
“H-he-ey…”
“Hey Love, want to tell me what you were dreaming about?” he really hoped to get Denki to talk to open up at least a little bit hoping it will help him at least a little
“I-it wa-s more ni-ightma-are-ing tha-an-n dr-ream-ming”
“Was it really that bad?” Shinsou again started doing small braids in Denki’s hair because he knows it helps him stay calm and grounded as he has something else to focus on than the thing that’s supposedly not right
“I w-wa-as a-at m-my pa-ar-ren-nts ho-ouse…”
Denki was scared. He did something wrong and now his parents were angry and he had to hide because if he won’t hide they’ll find and hurt him and he won’t be allowed to eat again because he didn’t earn it and he didn’t have any food for the last few days and he really needs it but he also feels like he shouldn’t eat because he did nothing to deserve that food and it will be only wasted on him and he’ll probably throw up right after eating like usually and the food will be wasted again and they shouldn’t waste food on him because there are so many people who need it more and won’t waste it like he will-
“KAMINARI DENKI COME HERE THIS INSTANT” oh no. Now he can’t hide because hiding will only make it worse. He has to go there. He runs up to where his mother called him hoping that punishment won’t be too harsh
“Yes mother?”
“Care to explain why aren’t your chores done?” No that can’t be right he had done all his chores he had a list with them and all of them were done
“I don’t understand I have done all of them”
“SO YOU ARE SAYING THAT I’M LYING” No no no no he screwed up he made this situation ten times worse
“No-”
“DON’T LIE TO ME” the next thing he felt was the slap and then the kick to his stomach and-
“A-an-nd the-en you wo-oke me up” Denki was crying when he finished talking and Shinsou didn’t want to do anything more than protect the boy he held in his arms forever and never let him go back to this awful people who had hurt him so much over all the years he was forced to live with them
“I’m so sorry you had to go through that sweetheart”
“I-it’s n-no-ot y-yo-our fa-ault”
“I know but doesn’t mean you should go through it. Can you please think about telling someone? There are people who will be willing to help so please think about it? For me?”
“...Ok-kay”
“Thank you so much love. Now do you want to go back to sleep?”
“N-no-ot re-ally”
“Okay we can just lay like until we think of something to do…”
“I-it’s n-no-ot li-ke yo-our-re goi-ing ti sto-op braiding my ha-air so yo-ou ha-ave so-omethi-ing to do”
“What can I say? It’s a great activity. Especially how you look so cute when I do that. Like a kitten who enjoys being petted” Shinsou teased Denki and watched as blush turned from light pink to bright red
