Chapter 7 - Lee
"Dad's here!" Will screamed. Lee jolted up from the desk at Will's scream. He was a bit confused but their Dad did always visit when he could, moreso now that Will was at Camp too.
Lee followed his siblings outside and saw that Apollo was there, and beside him was a young girl, maybe about Lee's age or so, with long black wavy hair and bright sea-green eyes. Lee tried to catch Will, but he dodged around his siblings and threw himself at Apollo's legs, "Dad! Who's this?"
Apollo smiled as he leaned down to lift his youngest son, Will, into his arms. "This is Percy. She's actually someone very important to you."
Will cocked his head curiously, leaning forward in Apollo's arms to peer into her face. Percy merely smiled gently, "Hello, Will."
"Hi....who are you?" Will questioned. Kayla hissed for him to stop but Apollo intervened, "No, he's fine Kayla. In fact, I came to let you know that you won't be raising Will anymore, Percy will. I appreciate you doing so, but it's time for Percy to take over now."
Kayla frowned, "Hold on, Dad. We don't even know who she is but you want us to just hand over Will to her?"
Apollo's eyes turned molten gold as he directed a stern glare at his eldest daughter, "Mind your tongue. Don't presume to tell me what I can or can't do. Percy will be raising Will as she is his mother - it is her right to raise him. Just like it is her right to raise Asclepius."
Lee felt an uncomfortable churning in his stomach as he reached over to stop Kayla from speaking again, "I thought Will's mortal parent was dead?" he asked tentatively.
Percy lay her hand on Apollo's arm and he settled quickly, his eyes shifting back to blue. "I was. In my first life, I was Prince Hyacinthus of Sparta. When the West Wind redirected the discus to me, Asclepius was born of my blood that had morphed into the first hyacinth flower and Apollo's tears. My next life was Icarus of Crete, son of Daedalus. The West Wind caught the wax wings and led me too close to the sun, where I died. Due to Apollo's rage and grief, Lady Persephone offered a fragment of my soul to Apollo as the Icarus tree to prevent the downfall of humanity. When Apollo was told I'd been reborn a third time, but not as to who, he tried to get a vision from the tree. The surge of his essence brought forth Will."
Lee gaped somewhat, little Will was full brother to a god in Asclepius and was born of Hyacinthus' soul? No wonder Apollo was so violently protective of Will.
Will flung himself into the girl's arms, "I'm Will, Mom! I'm 8 years old." he beamed happily.
Percy smiled gently and held Will closer, dipping her head to place her forehead against his, their noses gently brushing together, she spoke warmly, "I'm Perseas Jackson, but everyone calls me Percy. I'm 15 years old, but I remember an additional 41 years of life. It's nice
to meet you, Will. I've met our Asclepius today too."
Lee and his other siblings watched as Apollo beamed, holding Percy around the waist and tucking Will between their chests - they were pleased that Will had his mom, but most mortals weren't happy to have demigod children. They felt a little bit jealous.
"Which cabin will you be staying in?" Lee asked.
Chiron spoke then, "Cabin 11, Hermes. Percy is unclaimed."
"Incorrect. You know exactly who my daughter is, don't presume that you will keep her from my cabin." Lee whirled around and saw an older man with black hair with a little bit of grey near the temples, Percy's sea-green eyes and he held a trident while wearing an obnoxious Hawaiian shirt.
"Uncle Poseidon." Apollo dipped his head in respect.
Poseidon's eyes narrowed at their father, and Lee felt uneasy at the clear dislike between them. "Apollo. I see you have your grubby hands all over my daughter again." He huffed.
Percy stepped forward, smiling, "Dad. This is Will...he's your grandson."
Poseidon's furious eyes shifted to Apollo, "A son. You presume too much, Apollo." He hissed.
Apollo shook his head, "No. Will is 8 years old, and this is the first time I've met Percy. Uncle Poseidon, Will was born of the Icarus tree."
The Sea God huffed in displeasure. Lee felt like he was watching a tennis match or something. He knew the mythos spoke of Poseidon's protectiveness over his children, but he didn't expect it to be like this.
"There better be no more children between you two, Apollo. At Least until Percy is older." Poseidon glared.
"I actually wanted many children in my previous lives." Percy pinched the bridge of her nose before sighing, "I'm sorry, I don't know why I said that."
Apollo laughed, "I love this new little habit of yours."
Lee smiled slightly as Percy huffed, "Glad you're getting amusement from it, Pollo....I'm not."
Lord Poseidon shook his head, "Percy. Will may stay with you in Cabin 3 if you'd like. Apollo is allowed there only so long as there is no funny business." He glared.
Percy smiled at her father, "Thank you, Dad. You have my thanks."
Lee smiled as he heard Will echo his mother, "My thanks, grandpa."
Poseidon pet the little boy's head, "At least you have beautiful children. But they take after my nephew too much, Percy. You need to rectify that."
There was a smattering of laughter as Apollo huffed, "My stupid kids are traitors."
"Come on, Will. Let's go have a look at our cabin." Percy turned with a smile, "Goodbye, my love. I will see you soon?"
Apollo pressed a kiss to his beloved flower temple, "You will. I will try to bring Artemis next time."
Percy smiled as she left with Will. Lee and his other siblings returned to their cabin. "No speaking of this. If Father catches anyone badmouthing Percy, there will be severe consequences. Do not think for a moment that he will choose any of us over Percy or Will." Lee warned.
"Now, finish your homework. Dinner will be soon."
