What a Preformance
Summary
I wrote this as an English assignment for class. It's really bad and really dry. I haven't written any actual fanfic in over 4 years. This is going to be really really bad.It was written because of a prompt ,"write something about how an artists (can be anything in the arts) work brings a positive change in a society" and I had no other ideas other than this (and creepypasta but you will never catch me writing crp fanfic and posting it). Ill update once I know what grade I got. It's worth 100 points.Pray the ao3 author curse doesn't get to me.This isn't proof read at all either and it might have errors in spelling/grammer. it isn't proof read.EDIT: I FORGOT TO CHANGE THE NAMES IM SO SORRY

Author note: Im so sorry I actually forgot that i didnt change the names. Also don't expect this to actually be good. Honestly.

The clacking of shoes gathered the audience's attention to the stage. The crowd, consisting of small children and some of their respective parents, cheered for the actors that now accompanied the stage.

Nene walked up to a microphone to test its sound and to see if it was on with a quick “Testing, Testing, Hello!” Her highlighted green hair gleamed in the sunlight shining on the theme parks stage. She went over to Emu, and handed her the microphone, telling her it was good to start.

She took a quick breath in and then began her announcement, “Hello Everyone,” She said as she sent a quick wave to the audience, which sent back a bubble of excitement to the kids, small ‘Hii!’s and ‘Hello Emu!’s could be heard.

Emu continued “I just want to thank you all for coming to watch our latest performance after a long summer of rebuilding the Theme Park! Each one of us on stage would like to personally thank each and every one of you little stars for coming to support us with our show!”

Each of the Troupe members sent a quick wave to the kids.

Emu went on, “For our new audiences today, our shows are all written by our lovely director Rui,” She signaled to him, as he waved to the audience. “He is the ‘Mastermind’ behind all the fun and exciting things you see us all perform!” Emu praised on, as she put finger quotations by her head as she said mastermind.

Emu went to his side and offered him the microphone which he gleefully accepted. He took the microphone to his mouth and began, with a soothing voice “I’m very excited to introduce to you all the show. But if I must say something, Emu," he said, turning around, “You might have been wrong about something yourself!”

There were many dramatic gasps heard across the area, from the audience and from Emu and another troupe member. Rui gushes, “You see, stars, while we brainstorm ideas for shows, normally yes, I am the one who comes up with many of these amazing ideas, before any of them get to be performed, I have to run it through with our lovely leader Tsukasa . None of these shows would become a thing if Tsukasa did not bring us all together to perform. I hope you all will really enjoy this show because, Tsukasa- the bright star himself, was someone else who helped me make this show that we are about to give to you aspiring stars today!”

The crowd looked on to Ruis left and saw Tsukasa, all red faced from embarrassment.

Rui questions the crowd, “Would you all like Tsukasa to explain the show for today?” and after hearing groups of kids excitedly beam with excitement, finally being able to hear what it's about, he walked up over to Tsukasa and handed him the microphone.

Tsukasa does not seem to be ready for that, as he stamers his first word, but quickly composes himself and goes on, “Hello my little stars! I’m guessing a lot of you came with some friends right? Friends that aren’t afraid of who you actually are? Plus, who would even want to go to a theme park alone? There would be no one to share the memories with” and seeing the crowd of kids nod and reply with ‘Yes’s, he continues, “Well that’s exactly what this story is about! It takes place in a fictional kingdom, in a kingdom once raged with fighting and violence. But to keep peace within the Nation, the Rulers of the Empire united both the north and south, the people of the land, and people of the sea. Here is where the story begins, with a boy who learns all about friendship, acceptance, and hope! I’m sure you little stars would love it!”

The other troupe members engulfed Tsukasa in a hug as he collapsed. When the curtains closed signaling the end of the performance, along with the sound of the music stopping, the crowd of children cheered for the Actors on stage.

When they got up from where they all were seated, Emu excitedly beams, “That was amazing everyone! We all did so amazing!”

Nene winced as they continued to walk backstage, “Emu, I don’t think you should be so loud… They might be able to hear us from the other side..”

As they came backfield, Rui slapped a friendly hand onto Tsukasa's back, “Well, I don't think it's a bad thing inherited, It just shows our confidence as performers, after all.. We really only have Tsukasa to thank. He’s the true star of the show. Always exceeding our expectations.” Rui gave a heartfelt smile to Tsukasa as their eyes locked.

Nene piped in as she rushed to drag Emu to the front of the stage,  “c’mon guys, we have to go. They are all waiting for the afterword!”

As the rest of the troupe walked onto the stage, they were met with laughter and praises coming from the audience, mainly full of kids, now accompanied by their parents, getting ready to leave the Park. There were plenty of kids shouting out compliments and questions to Nene and Tsukasa, but Emu chimed in, probably even more eager than the kids. “Stars, Please calm down! Everyone will have a turn, please! Be patient! You know how we all love everyone contributing! How could we know what you guys are saying if there are so many people talking over one another?”

Emu pointed to a child waiting, with her hand patiently up to add some commentary, “I Really really like how Melis was so quick to accept Hannah even though she was raised to think the sea creatures were horrible people and to not mess with them at all!”

Rui motioned over to another kid eagerly awaiting to add on, “I loved how everyone stood up to Adam when he was about to have a stone thrown onto him! And how everyone went to help him get unstuck when his arm was stuck under the water, even though all of them could have seriously died!”

Nene looked over to another kid who, very rudely, proceeded to ask, “Why come up with this story? It was so bad! What made you guys decide to perform something like this? This story wasn’t very good at all… the old shows were better…”

Rui looked over towards the child, a hint of amusement in his eyes., “Oh, well. It was inspired by my own experiences back in middle school.”

Emu came and interrupted him. “Poor Rui over here wasn’t easily accepted by others his age back when he was younger! Everyone would think he was a weirdo and they would constantly hurt him and wish horrible things about him. They didn’t really accept him at all, and it was for such stupid reasons too! If Rui did not ignore those bullies, then we would never have such an amazing director we have today!”

“Remember kids. It isn't that hard to be nice to others! It’s perfectly fine to not want to be friends with someone, you should never be forced to befriend anyone. But it isn’t nice to judge others without knowing the whole truth.” Tsukasa said to the crowd, occasionally stealing a glance at the kid who insulted their performance, but not just their performance, Ruis show.
Soon after, the crowd tended to dissipate, returning to their awaiting parents.

Tsukasa walked over to Rui, “Agh! What in the world was he thinking? Do Parents not teach their children manners at all?” Rui laughed, “Tsukasa, don't worry about it! It isn’t the first time someone said something bad to me. Also, he was just a kid, I’m sure he didn’t mean any of it in the end.”

While the troupe packed their bags ready to leave the stage, a small black haired child ran up to Rui tapping his arm to get the older man's attention. As Rui turned around to look at the kid, Tsukasa could recognize him as the child who insulted Ruis directorship. “Uhm, excuse me Rui…” The child stayed quiet for a bit. Probably scared of what Rui or Tsukasa would say, “I’m really sorry about what I said. I don’t think it was a nice thing to say, at all. And, and I’m really sorry about what happened to you. It must really suck.”

Rui crouched down to be eye-level with the kid, “Hey kiddo, don't worry about it! Everyone says things that they aren't proud of sometimes. We all have our regrets. It’s ok, so don’t worry. It’s better that you at least recognized you were in the wrong to say something like that so harsh and judgemental, did the show not teach you anything at all?”
The child looked at him, and shamefully shook his head, “No, I’m really sorry. I didn’t understand what was going on. I wasn’t really paying attention to when Emu was talking about the show theme.”

Rui smiled at the boy, “Oh that makes sense. Well, it's better that you know now. It was about acceptance and friendship. I’m sure that can make sense to you now. Don’t worry about it too deeply, but don't be so quick to judge someone again man, it isn’t very nice, or respectable” he said as he shook his head.

As the  kid ran back to his group of friends who were congratulating him for apologizing, Rui went back to his troupe members (and friends alike), and said, “This is why I love performing with you all so much, We get to see those little stars grow and change.”
