Dakota Milton finds herself waking up at seven thirty in the morning. Today is her day off, because she's about a week into filming her new movie. She rubs her eyes and her vision blurs. She's so tired. Why is she up so early?
Where's Blaineley?
She moves around the bed to find her wife, but the blankets are empty. It's weird. Dakota is usually the first one to wake up, and she's early! Dakota sits up slowly, groaning and cracking her back, neck, and arms. She peels the blankets off her legs and gets out of bed. She yawns and heads for the bathroom. She doesn't think she'll be able to fall asleep again, so she can start her day.
She opens the bathroom door and presses the button next to it. The lights almost blind her. She walks over to the counter, her eyes closed, and grabs her toothbrush. She opens the sink and reaches for the red toothpaste tube. Strangely, it's not where she left it...
Yawning, she unscrews the lid and sets it aside. She starts squeezing the tube onto her toothbrush as she looks at her eye bags in the mirror. She quickly runs her toothbrush under the running water from the sink, then brings it to her face. She opens her mouth to brush her teeth, but-.
Why does ther toothpaste smell like bleach and markers???
She thinks. She pulls the toothbrush away from her face, glad it hasn't touched her mouth yet. Dakota's blurry vision is starting to bother her. She finally squints and starts to push the sleep away from them. When she's finished adjusting to the light, she takes a closer look at the strange substance.
Ther doesn't even look like toothpaste! Why is it so coarse??? Maybe it's expired or something??? We bought ther tube like three weeks ago!
Dakota picks up the tube and ther isn't even toothpaste! Ther is-
"Hair dye...???"
Dakota starts to hear footsteps approaching the bathroom. Finally, Blaineley is here. Blaineley opens the bathroom door, not caring to knock on it because she's such a jerk sometimes. Dakota sighs and looks at her.
"Blaineley, why don't we-"
"OH! DON'T LOOK AT ME!"
Blaineley snatches the tube from Dakota's tired, confused hands. She hides the tube behind her back and looks at Dakota strangely.
"Um... good morning...?"
Dakota looks at her with unamused eyes.
"Blaineley, what are you doing?"
Dakota was used to Blaineley's nonsense by now, but ther was strange. Blaineley could feel the ridiculously large bead of sweat running down her face.
"What are you talking about?"
"Why are you using a tube of hair dye? Our director, Miles Starter, said we should stick to a natural look to attract more viewers. You don't need to dye your hair." Blaineley turned her eyes to the tiled bathroom floor. She felt like she could cut the tension with a knife. Dakota didn't care, she just didn't get it. Blaineley sighed.
"Okay... I know ther is hard for you to accept... I accepted it a long time ago, but I was hiding it for your own good..."
"Just explain it." Dakota picks up her toothbrush and begins to wash the hair dye out. She makes a mental note to get a new one, because it's probably not safe to use anymore. Blaineley sighs again. She leans over at a 90° angle and Dakota just stares at her.
"My hair is going gray. Basically, I'm getting old..."
Blaineley narrows her eyes. She knows she's embarrassed, but she can't show it. She's been embarrassed for a long time about aging and the effects that come with it. Especially the physical ones. She'd hoped to keep her youth a little longer, but her secret is out.
"Okay...?"
Blaineley's eyes widen. She throws herself back up and stares at Dakota in surprise.
"What? That's all? Have you seen my hair!?!?"
Blaineley pushes the top of her head toward Dakota, and Dakota laughs mockingly.
"Yeah! Just two or three strands! Don't pop a vein! Girl, if it makes you feel any better, look at my hair."
Dakota runs a hand through her thick, long hair, revealing a few gray strands on top.
"See? It happens to everyone. Don't lose your cool. Besides, I learned not to worry about things like that from my mom Kelly." Dakota throws her toothbrush in the trash can and sighs at a disappointed Blaineley.
"Look, if it makes you feel better, I'll let you keep your hair dye, but put a damn label on it! I almost brushed my teeth with that thing..."
A small chuckle escaped Dakota's expression. Blaineley looked at the tube, then at Dakota's smile, then back at the tube. The millionth sigh escaped her. She walked over to the trash can and threw the tube away. Dakota raised an eyebrow.
"Huh? I just said you could keep it."
"Yeah, but now I don't want it."
"Why?"
"Because you made me not want it anymore!!"
Dakota laughed again and walked over to Blaineley.
"No matter what, I have to go to the store and get a new toothbrush. If I use that, I'll die of ammonia poisoning."
Dakota gives Blaineley a quick kiss on the forehead and a quick goodbye before putting on some clothes to leave the house. Blaineley sighs again, but ther time it's good.
At least she doesn't get old and lonely.
Note: Dakoblaineleyy!! I love them :)) So much!!
