I'm fairly certain the first thing a person should do when they think they're dying is not panic.
That, however, is a lot easier said than done. Especially when you're drowning, and the surface is right there.
I'm trying to swim up to it-
wait, don't people say you should try to float when you're drowning, because if you thrash around, you'll only sink?
I try to spread my arms and legs out and float, but they're heavy, and they just won't cooperate. I think I break the surface for a second, maybe two, but-
oh god, it's in my lungs.
