Assigned Seats... What Could Go Wrong?
If there was one thing that Harry didn’t miss about Hogwarts, it was the early mornings. Especially once he found out that all of the seventh years who were taking it would have Advanced Potion Making first thing.
On the first day of term, he rolled out of his bed, already in a sour mood. And to worsen matters further, neither Harry or Ron could remember who their new Professor was going to be. Whoever it was, Harry knew that McGonagall had introduced them, they simply hadn’t been paying close enough attention.
So, the three of them trudged into class together before the sun had fully risen. They went to take the seats in the back, nearest Ginny, but the moment Harry set his books down on the table Ginny looked at him miserably and said, “We’ve been assigned seats. And partners. For the whole year.”
“What?” Hermione exclaimed, momentarily baffled. Never had there been assigned seats at Hogwarts before. Harry did his best to keep from reacting altogether. Ron only gaped at Ginny in vague disbelief and horror.
“I only agreed to take this class so I could hang around you lot!” Ron groaned, dropping his face into his hands. “Come back to Hogwarts with us, they said, it’ll be fun, they said.
