Being Useful, for once
Voldermort POV
Due to the observers now at Hogwarts Voldemort had to remove himself from the Defense classrooms less one of the observers detect magic coming from the Golem he inhabited. Now being stuck full-time in Quirrell's rooms Voldemort decided that since the Horcrux that had been at the castle was no more he would send one of his followers to the lake in the cave to collect the locket for him. Knowing they would die as they collected it Voldemort sent a letter to a second Death Eater to follow the first so they could perform the spell to collect his soul from the Horcrux. Which should send it right to him even if he was stuck inside the newly re-strengthed Wards at Hogwarts. Voldemort had an easy choice for the follower to collect his Horcrux and die in the process as he sent the letter to Narcissa No'name since she was no longer of any use to him.
Narcissa's POV
Narcissa was ecstatic to be given such an important mission from her Lord. She had always known that he respected her despite what Lucius and Sirius had done to her by stripping her magic away, and this task just proved it. For Lord Voldemort had collected all the pieces of his soul himself before getting trapped at Hogwarts that he reached out to her showed the amount of his trust in her. So before she headed out to where his soul piece was, Narcissa brought his letter to her mouth and ran her tongue over his signature lapping at the ink but not minding the taste for it was from him. Once his signature had been licked clean off the letter she disposed of the parchment with a simple blue bell fire spell she then licked her fingers to spread the ink he had used all over her mouth as if it was lipstick.
Leaving Quirrell's townhouse, where she had been staying after getting kicked out of Malfoy Manor, Narcissa had Apparated to the location of the soul piece. She found herself on a ragged coastal range looking out at a large island that looked more like a mountain top submerged in water. Spotting an opening near the level of the water, Narcissa used a spell to make her both light on her feet and run faster to reach it so she could finish her mission before the tide came in which by the dried watermarks on the island looked like it would cover the opening she needed to use.
As Narcissa entered the island cave, Voldemort's second follower appeared making their way more slowly to the opening to give Narcissa time to retrieve their Master's soul so the No'name would be killed in the process letting Gregory Goyle Sr. retrieve the soul from his Lord.
What neither Death Eater realized was that as soon as Narcissa No'name entered the cave she set off a warning spell set up by Harry three years ago.
Flashback.
During one of his infrequent trips back to England as he traveled the world to learn magic from various sources, Harry had stopped in to see Remus as Sirius Black was freed from killing the twelve Muggles when he was going after Peter. Sirius who had not yet reclaimed his Lordship rings and power back had unfortunately been forced to use his childhood home to recuperate after his time in Azkaban, being looked after by Remus.
When Harry suddenly appeared in the old Black Family townhouse he shocked his Godfather, not only for his identity but also for being able to get past the overpowered Wards Sirius's parents had put on the place. Which were stronger than any Magical home in Brittian and just a little less powerful than the one around Hogwarts. "Pup?" Sirius asked his voice croaking a little due to disuse as he pulls Harry into a tight bone-breaking hug.
"Hello, Siri. I assume you do not wish for me to go back to calling you Padfo right?" Harry asked as he wrapped his arms around his Godfather, which thanks to his perfect memory could recall every time he had met the man including when he was first handed to him shortly after being born. Yet while his memory was perfect as a kid he still could not talk fully so had called the man "Padfo" after hearing his father call Sirius "Padfoot."
"Call me whatever you like Pup," Sirius said tears falling from his eyes in absolute joy.
"But not call you late to dinner," Harry said recalling the man's joke that he had told Lily the first time Harry had called him Padfo.
"Right, or any other meal," Remus said joining in on the hug making Sirius let out a bark-like laugh. Which he quickly ended as it set off a portrait somewhere in the house that started screaming at the top of its lungs about "Traitors of flesh and nasty creatures."
"Great and everything was going so well," Sirius croaked out his joy seeming to leave him like air from a punctured balloon.
"Don't worry, Siri," Remus said, "Harry can take care of it."
"Um, sure," Harry said with a shrug as he walked out of the room in search of the screaming portrait.
He found the screaming portrait one floor down on the main landing of the first floor, which began to scream louder when it saw him. As it called him a traitor rotten filth and other insults beside, Harry walked slowly over to the portrait fighting off a headache. Seeing a nameplate that listed the portrait's inhabitant as Walburga Black, Sirius' mum, and taking in his Godfather's reaction to the scream, Harry reached forward brushing his fingers across the canvas and removing the magic attached to it. The screaming stopped in an instant as the portrait became a Non-Magical artistic rendering of a nasty-looking woman. Thinking that was the end of it Harry turned to head back to Sirius and Remus only for a gnarled House Elf to appear. "What you doing to Kreacher's poor Mistress?" the Elf asked shaking a small fist at Harry.
"I just removed the spell on the portrait so it became just a normal picture," Harry said.
"You must undo it and bring back Kreacher's Loving Mistress. Mistress is the only one who can get Runaway to leave home again so Kreacher can have peace," Kreacher, or Harry assumed the Elf's name was, said.
"Why do you need peace don't you need someone to take care of so you can be healthy?" Harry asked Kreacher.
"Kreacher not worthy of health he failed Master Regulus and Master Lucius. And was unable to stop the Bitch Narcissa from breaking up their marriage doing something to Master Regulus," Kreacher said.
"What? My baby brother was married to Lucius Malfoy?" Sirius asked in shock having come running after his mother's portrait had stopped screaming.
"Runaway, leave Kreacher alone," Kreacher said raising his hands to snap his fingers and use some Elf Magic. Not sure if the Elf would just vanish or possibly banish Sirius from the place due to Sirius not having access to his Lordship at the moment Harry blocked whatever magic Kreacher had tried to use. "See Runaway," Kreacher said glaring at Sirius when his snap had done nothing. "Kreacher is a bad elf he failed his Masters and their son and could not even accomplish his last mission for Master Regulus before Bitch Narcissa steal Master Lucius and Draco away."
"What mission was that Kreacher?" Harry asked knowing that an Elf not being able to perform a job given to it by a person they were bound to could cause said Elf to go insane or lose control of their magic.
"Kreacher told to destroy item he helped Master Regulus collect from a cave full of dark magics. But no spell or potions Kreacher used could do anything. Kreacher is a worthless Elf," Kreacher wailed.
"I might be able to help you out," Harry said placing a comforting hand on Kreacher's back.
"How could you help you are a babe looking no older than my Master Draco would be now," Kreacher said.
"Kreacher I order you to let Harry help if he can," Sirius said putting as much authority in his voice as he could.
Kreacher seemed to want to fight the order but found he could not as he walked jerkily up the stairs, the others following him, and into the Black Family Libray anex of the House. Still moving jerkily as if he was a puppet that was fighting against its puppeteer Kreacher moved some books aside and pulled out a locket before holding it out to Harry. Harry gently took the locket and looked it over. "I can see why your Master Regulus wanted to destroy this. There is a dark bit of magic inside. Tell me were you ordered to destroy the locket or just the dark magic it contained?" Harry asked Kreacher.
"Master Regulus ordered Kreacher to destroy the dark magic saying it would help stop Evil-Magic-Man-Who-No-One-Wants-To-Use-His-Name," Kreacher said making Harry, Sirius, and Remus guess meant Voldy.
"Well, then have no fear I can help you," Harry said, and before Kreacher could ask how he could help Harry pulled out the shredded remains of what could be a soul and crushed it in his hands leaving the locket intact.
"You did it?" Kreacher said in shock feeling the dark magic being destroyed just by the strange boy closing his hand tightly around it.
"I did," Harry said smiling down at the Elf before holding the locket out to him. "Would you like the locket back?"
"Kreacher has not earned it yet. If Strange Boy wants he can keep it until Kreacher reunites with Master Lucius and young Master Draco," Kreacher said.
"Alrighty then," Harry said slipping the locket into the dimensional pockets of his robes. "While I have no plans of going to Hogwarts any time soon I am going to all the magical schools in this Realm so if I come across your young Master Draco, I shall try to help him and his dad return to you."
"Thank you," Kreacher started saying over and over again as he began to shake Harry's hand vigorously.
"May I ask Kreacher where did your Master Regulus find this locket?" Harry asked.
"Kreacher can show you if you like?" Kreacher suggest.
"Is that alright with you?" Harry asked Sirius and Remus for he had come to visit them only to get sidetracked, as he often did, with something interesting happened.
"Um, sure," Remus said knowing Harry well enough by now that if he did not check it out it would bug him for a while. "And while you are gone Sirius and I can look into other Black properties that might be available to live in."
Harry gave both men a small salute as he allowed Kreacher to pull him to a small cave located in an island mountain. Sensing a great deal of evil magic in the place and with Kreacher saying it had something to do with Voldy, Harry did not enter the cave but put a Ward around it. The Ward would not prevent anyone from entering the place but would notify Harry if someone entered it so he could catch what was left of Voldy and deal with him. Satisfied Harry and Kreacher headed back to Grimmauld Place to help Sirius look for a new place to live. And since Kreacher had no other family to look after and his mission had been taken care of he would move in with Sirius to help out when Sirius eventually moved into the Black Family Manor located near Kent.
End Flashback.
Harry who had been in the middle of some self-study, as usual, felt the Wards around the island mountain go off. As it was still over a month before the final task was to take place and not seeing this taking long Harry did not hesitate to teleport himself to the cave. Not knowing what he would find Harry shifted his body into smoke as he had seen someone who had eaten a strange fruit in one of the Realms he visited had done. In his new gaseous form, Harry was invisible to a woman he recognized as Narcissa No'name as well as seeing a large bulking man who seemed to be following her and doing his best to not get noticed. Harry watched Narcissa use a small blade to cut her arm and spread some blood on a wall to make it open leading into an inner cavern that held a lake with another island on it. Figuring the island was Narcissa's target Harry floated ahead but as he crossed the water he noticed something. it was not water that made up the lake but a Preservation Potion which seemed to be keeping several Infiri intact under the surface. What was more there was a third living human in the cave, apart from Narcissa and the man tailing her. Harry was not counting himself since at the moment he was not human but gas.
The third human was located at the very bottom of the lake under the island, which Harry now saw had been created using the same magic that he had found in the locket Kreacher had given him, but now that he thought about it had been attached to the diadem he had given to Myrtle to wear to the ball. Shooting a look at Narcissa and seeing she was riding a small boat over to the island, and her tail was still following her on a secondary boat which the man seemed to have made himself and magically attached to hers, Harry went under the island to retrieve the third body. He guessed who it might be as he shifted from his gas form into the green slime he had used during the Second Task. Finding the body that was laying under the exact center of the island above Harry saw someone who resembled Sirius, though with shorter hair that was styled like Draco's. While Harry had seen things that might have made others lose their minds in his travels he found the sight of Regulus laying in the Preservation Potion with his eyes open staring above somewhat disconcerting. Not wanting to change form into anything else while submerged in the potion Harry explained his slime body and enveloped Regulus inside himself.
Harry then began to pull Regulus to the surface while using the man's presence inside his slime body to heal him of any injuries he might have sustained mentally, physically, or magically. Harry breached the surface just as Narcissa started to dip a strange shell-like item inside a basin containing another potion. This one was a vile creation that would cause whoever drank it to experience their worst memories and live out all the betrayals they had ever done in their life. Harry did not know the reason she was drinking the potion but made no move to stop her after the trouble she had caused for Regulus, Lucius, Draco, and Sirius. Also as she drank the potion she missed Harry bringing Regulus to shore and hiding the man behind an outcropping of rocks.
Returning to his gaseous form, Harry watched Narcissa drink the potion which for some reason did not affect her or get lower in the basin. This confused Harry a little as Narcissa's tail arrived and silently snuck up behind her with his wand drawn. Once again Harry just observed the events rather than getting evolved as Narcissa scooped up some more potion before, and without any warning, turned to face her tail and toss the potion in his face. The large man gave a cry of surprise dropping his wand as he tried to wipe the potion from his eyes. Narcissa did not give him any time as she kicked the man's wand away and used her own to place a full-body bind on him. Narcissa then floated him to the basin of potion and started to fill the scoop to dump down the man's throat. Which she magical made stay open. Harry could read the fear in the man's aura as he was forced to drink the potion and was unable to get away until it was gone from the basin. With nothing left in the basin, Narcissa dropped the man to the ground and scooped up the locket inside with a cry of triumph. Narcissa then blasted the man with the killing curse ending his misery.
Thinking herself alone on the island Narcissa began to jump and dance around. "With this Lord Voldemort will have to grant me my wish despite being declared a No'name. He might even marry me himself once he gets his body back," she said with a mad cackle before she licked the side of the locket. Harry, if he had a head at the moment, would be shaking it at the woman's actions. Narcissa was being so loud and boisterous that it woke Regulus as he lay on the other side of the outcropping of rocks and out of her view. Having been fully healed by Harry, Regulus got to his feet, a little wobbly due to lack of circulation in his limbs. Recognizing Narcissa's voice and recalling the last memories he had of the woman as she boasted that his mate would soon be hers, Regulus began to pat himself down looking for his wand but was unable to find it.
Even without a wand, he was not going to let her get away with what she had done, he peeked around the outcropping and saw her dancing around the body of one of her fellow Death Eaters holding what looked like the fake locket he had placed in the basin as if it was some sort of treasure. Seeing she was busy celebrating, but not knowing how long she would be at it, Regulus began to stretch his body a little so he could rush her. After a few minutes where Narcissa had stopped dancing around and was now running her tongue over the fake locket, making Regulus almost gag seeing what she was doing to one of the Black family heirlooms, he snuck around the outcropping to get behind her. Gathering his strength for a moment, Regulus rushed her causing her to turn towards the sound of his footsteps. Rather than use her wand on him she stood mystified not understanding how he could be there. "Hello cousin," Regulus said grabbing the elbow of her left arm in a grip like iron. "Did you miss me you fucking bitch?" He did not wait for an answer as he used his strength to toss her towards the edge of the island. Unfortunately, he lacked the strength to send her into the Preservation Potion making her land hard on the shore near the edge.
"Too bad, it appears you missed," Narcissa said getting to her feet and pulling her wand out ready to cast another killing curse aimed at Regulus. Harry was not going to let that happen as he used some magic to paralyze her body but not her head just as she had done to her tail.
"And it seems that licking the potion off our family locket caused an interesting side effect," Regulus said taking in her arm that had been in the process of moving towards him had stopped and the look of effort on her face to try to get her body to move again. "You tried to take my husband and child. You are a Death Eater bitch so I think you deserve this," Regulus said approaching her and with a swift kick sent her backward into the Preservation Potion. "THIS IS MY LIFE." Kicking his cousin into the potion made Regulus burst out laughing for a moment before wondering how he was going to get back.
For he needed to have a wand to bring the boat back up since it went under the potion after he kicked the bitch into it. Turning to the corpse he spotted the man's wand but when he picked it up the thing would not work for him. "Well looks like I am still stuck," Regulus said with a small laugh as he sat down and leaned into the pedestal where the potion basin rested.
"Want a lift?" Harry said returning to human form and startling Regulus.
"Who are you?" Regulus asked brandishing the useless wand at him.
"I am Harry James Potter your older brother is my Godfather, and at the moment I am at Hogwarts with your son. Oh, I also lead him to get his father to my Godfather for some help leading to Narcissa to be stripped of the magic of your house and that of your husband which she somehow gained access to," Harry said.
"Right," Regulus said in a slow voice. "And how did you get here?"
"I was gas. I shifted into a slime to rescue you from under the potion as well," Harry said simply.
"Right," Regulus said again, "I must be going insane after potion exposure."
"Nope, while bringing you to the surface I healed you completely. Now stop dawdling," Harry said taking hold of Regulus's sleeve and teleporting them out of the cave to the Black family Manor, basically shoving Regulus into Lucius' shocked embrace and returning to Hogwarts but not without leaving Slytherin's locket and a note that let Regulus know that the dark magic inside had been dealt with.
