The start of the Tournament and the morning after
Still wearing his rainbow-colored robes Harry enters the side room the other Champions had entered after their names had been called. "Greetings all," Harry said as he bowed to the three other Champions.
"Somehow I just knew you would enter yourself into this," Fleur said with a laugh. "Please tell me you are going to not going to use your full power during the Tournament," the quarter Veela said almost begging him.
"I can't make any promises after all we don't know what is coming," Harry stated.
"Point, but please I think the three of us actually want a chance to win the Tournament ourselves," Fleur said.
"Okay, I guess that is fair after all I just am taking part in this for the challenge. How about I make you all this promise I will have my fun but I will not try to win it overall," Harry said using a gesture that conveyed a vow made on his own magic.
"You really think you are that powerful?" Marcus asked for sure he had seen the boy do some strange things but the way the French girl and he was talking made it look like they thought the boy was more powerful than any of them.
"Oh, it is more than just a thought," Harry said giving the Sixth-Year Slytherin a sly smile. Before Marcus could make another comment the door behind Harry burst open as the three Heads of the Schools. as well as several Hogwarts staff members, and the two Ministry of Magic workers. Headmaster Dumbledore rushed forward and made as if to grab Harry by his shoulders only for the boy to vanish from where he had been standing and instantly appear on the other side of the man. "Headmaster Kakorff, Madam Maxine I beg your forgiveness for never revealing my true identity while I was at your academies. I had been informed by my Magical Guardian that I was famous in parts of the world so under his suggestion I took to using my initials, having a feeling that I would earn enough attention with my magic powers alone I did not want my name to cause further problems."
"I think you are mistaken, my boy, I am your Magical Guardian," Dumbledore turned to him again and once more tried to take hold of his shoulder. Yet once again he could not touch Harry though this time rather than disappearing Harry's body became immaterial as if he was a ghost.
"First off no you were never my Magical Guardian, and secondly stop that," Harry said turning to glare at the man.
"Now my boy," Dumbledore said.
"No," Harry said as with a simple snap of his fingers Harry placed a Silencing Charm on the old fool. The man's eyes bulged a little as he found that no sound came from his mouth as he continued to try to talk. "Can we get on with what is expected of us in this Tournament?" Harry asked turning to look at the two British Ministry Members
"Indeed let's get to it," one of the Minsters who was dressed in what looked like some yellow and black Quidditch robes, who did not even seem too concerned that the fourteen-year-old boy just silenced Dumbledore as if it was nothing. "As Dumbledore said before you were chosen by the Goblet this tournament was designed to put you through three tasks to push you to the limits of your magic, mind, and various other skills. That being said the First Task is set to test your daring and courage so we will not be telling you what will take place. This task will take place on November the twenty-eighth and all you will be allowed to use during this task, well all task really, is your wand. I do hope we see something spectacular with four of you doing your best," the man said as he smiles at the Four Champions showing off his bright shiny teeth.
"Also since you have been selected as Champions you will be free from the end-of-term test," a stern-looking witch said. Harry was a little confused at that statement for how could Hogwarts test been used for either Fleur or Viktor. He also recalled Headmaster Karkoroff informing every student who had signed up to journey to Hogwarts that since the two schools had vastly different curriculums once the Tournament had ended and the Durmstrang students had returned to the school the students would have to take their end of year test before being allowed to head back to their homes. Harry was also aware that both Viktor and Fleur were in their final years at their respective schools meaning they would still have to take their Extremely Large Vexing Exams or ELVEs to find out if they had the right qualifications for the jobs they were seeking. As for Harry since he never really stayed at a school long enough he never worried about the end-of-year test one bit.
Deciding that he had heard all he needed to know Harry turned to leave the room, as he finally took off the Silencing Charm on Dumbles. Not wanting to take any chances with the man following after him and seeing that the Great Hall was absolutely empty Harry shifted his form into a Nargle, which most Magicals could not see. Harry had always loved to shift into a Nargle form for not only was he unable to be seen but due to it being a flying snake form he could slip through most small spaces quite easily. Arriving at the Magical bedroom he had found and claimed the night before Harry finally shifted back into a human as he entered. He was not that shocked to find Tony waiting for him with a letter from Remus and Sirius. Both of them were glad that he had finally had made his way to Hogwarts while at the same time neither were shocked that he had decided to enter the Tournament though they did caution him not to show off or get too carried away. Harry just rolls his eyes at the letter before sending them a promise that he would do his best as well as informing his Godfather and Magical Guardian of his vow that he was just in it for fun and not to win it. While Harry had found that he did not seem to need the same amount of sleep as others he still headed to bed to be ready for the classes the next day. Not that he had a set class schedule having been informed that as a visiting student he could audit any class he like. Which was how he did it at all the schools he had gone to anyway.
The next morning Harry had decided to sit at the yellow and black table, so he could find the Magical relative of Hermione. As he sat down and introduced himself to the group of Forth-Year students he was able to learn the name of Hermione's distant relative, Susan Bones. "How did you change your robes like that last night?" a boy named, Ernie Macmillan asked.
"Oh it is quite simple if you know the right spell," Harry said with a smile as he cast the spell on his current outfit making it shift into some plain brown robes.
"But you didn't even use a wand," Susan said,
"Oh I do have one I just prefer not to use it," Harry said, "I think it is in here somewhere." Harry then proceeded to pull random items out of his pocket. "No that is a pair of Humfry's socks. Questor's cure for Abernathey. Oh, I should have really given that to him before I left well too late now. A link from Bilbo's Mythril coat no that ain't it either," Harry said using one hand to hold his pocket open more as he reached into it down to his elbow pulling out more odds and ends he had collected during his travels. "A writing from an Asari Matriarch, Cid's blueprints to one of his airships how did that get in here? Sarah's ocarina no wonder Link could never find the thing. My spare key to Merlin's Police Box, ah my lightsaber I had been wondering where I had put that. Oh, here it is," Harry said at last as he pulled out a ten-inch wand of Acacia with a core made from his very own hair.
"What is all this stuff?" a boy named Justin asked picking up the lightsaber, almost turning it on while it was aimed at his own body.
"Just some things I have picked up over the years," Harry said snatching the lightsaber back before the boy could accidentally kill himself with it. Placing his wand onto the table Harry began to move everything he had pulled out back into his pocket and out of any unintentional harm's way.
"Not that I really need a wand at all, to tell the truth," Harry said. "One of the first schools I went to taught students how to perform magic without it. And as I spent the longest time there I am quite proficient in the skill." There were some impressed whistles from the students who had been listening in to his conversation.
"So since you are sitting with us does that mean that you will be joining us in our D.A.D.A. lesson after breakfast?" Susan asked.
"I don't think so I want to check out Hogwart's Charms program first having read that it is taught by a Magical with Goblin-blood to see how it compares to Glorvantia," Harry stated.
"Um that class might be too advanced for you right after breakfast," one of the older students chimed in.
"Why?" Harry asked as he wondered how any class taught at this school would be "too advanced" for him after what he had seen during the tour the day before.
"Well, right after breakfast Professor Flitwick's class is a Sixth-Year Slytherin/Gryffindor class," the same older student explained.
"So, I was told as a visiting student I could sit in on any class I liked," Harry said.
"Well don't say we did not warn you," the student said as everyone began to finish their breakfast and head off to their first class of the day.
Recalling where the Charms classroom was located from the tour from yesterday Harry put his rediscovered wand inside his inner robe pocket, a pocket that had no Expansion Charm on it making it easier to find if he found he needed it. Not recalling any mention during the tour of assigned seats for any classes Harry took one close to the front so a taller student would not block his view. "Harry, what are you doing here?" Marcus asked seeing the younger boy sitting in the front row of the left side of Flitwick's desk.
"I came to see how Hogwarts handles Charms," Harry said simply.
"Um, don't you think it would be easier to take it with students your own age?" Marcus asked but only got a shrug from the younger boy. The Sixth-Year Slytherin Champion just shrugged his shoulders thinking Harry would see it soon enough.
"Good morning class today we will be working on the Aguamenti Spell or a Charm that produces freshwater. This spell is quite useful if one is in an area that does not have much water such as a desert or a cave. It can also be used to put out flames. As I am sure you all drank enough at breakfast we shall practice the spell by putting out some flames. As these will be Magical Flames be careful depending on your power level you may not be able to put them out with your spell, like normal flames," the instructor said creating some red, blue, green, purple, and some black flames to hover around the room. The Goblin-Blooded instructor made no comment of Harry sitting in the first row as he began to teach the class how to cast the Aquamenti Spell before having the students test it out.
Having been able to see that the instructor had created each flame with a little more magic than the one before it Harry was able to gauge the Hogwarts student's magic levels by seeing what flame they were able to put out with the spell. Everyone in the class easily put out the red and blue flames with their created water, but only half the class was able to douse the green. Marcus showing why he had been selected as the Hogwarts Champion had been the only one who had been able to distinguish the purple flame. "Well, Heir Potter would you like to give it a go?" Flitwick asked him.
"I would be honored," Harry said doing his best not to slip into Gobbledegook as he responded. Harry then got up from his seat pulling his wand out from his inner pocket as he cast the spell. Unlike the students who had cast their spell before him Harry's water formed into a large bubble above his head as it had always done ever since he learned his first water producing spell from Master Vivi in Treno. There were some chuckles from the older students thinking he had messed up the spell since he made a bubble rather than a stream of water. The laughter quickly ended as Harry pointed his wand at each of the flames in turn causing thin streams of water to shoot out his bubble and douse all five of the magically produce fired at the same time.
"Remarkable simply remarkable Heir Potter if you were a student here I would have no choice but to reward you with fifty points for that spell work but as it is all I can do is say once again well done," Professor Flitwick gushed at him but Harry just shrugged as he popped his bubble with his wand and headed back to his seat.
As he sat down Harry could not think that if this was the normal level of the Hogwarts students he was glad he came here last for they must not have much to teach him at this place. In fact, if he did not have to stay to take part in the Tournament he probably would just leave right now. Maybe see if he could find some new teachers by Relm Walking again.
