James was now looking at the words inked in a beautiful shade of black, right on the skin above his heart. He was standing in front of the mirror, looking at his soulmate mark that he gently traced his lingering fingers over. He was waiting for the moment he’ll find the person he’ll love above everything.
He was dying to meet his soulmate. He wanted a love just like his mates had, who found themselves relatively easy, because they were lucky having each other’s name in the soulmate mark. Yes, the soulmate mark is the first sentence your soulmate says to you. And well his mates were lucky because having ‘Remus Lupin, it’s nice to meet you’ and ‘I’m Sirius Black, pleased to meet you’ were nothing compared to ‘You were expecting something else?’ that was placed in a special spot on his body.
Remus and Sirius found each other in the first day of school. The exact words as they had inked on their collarbones were spoken and that’s when they knew they found the one for the rest of their lives. James was happy for them, truly, he loved them just like they were his brothers. But, he wanted someone who he can have in his arms, and someone to cherish.
He’s 21 years old, and everyday he thought it’s about time he finds his soulmate, to settle down and start a family with, to love and put first above anything else. Now that spot was filled by his best mates that he knew for 10 years, but he hoped soon, it’ll be taken by his soulmate. Not that he wouldn’t love or appreciate his mates anymore, but he wanted to meet his soulmate since he was a little kid.
He put on a t-shirt after he snapped out of his thoughts, making his way to the living-room of his apartment, where Sirius and Remus were cuddling on the couch while watching a movie on the big tv positioned on the big wall. He joined them, making himself comfortable in his arm-chair, with a blanket he was holding tight into his arms.
“My brother’s coming to town” Sirius said. James and Remus moved their attention to Sirius who was giving them a soft warm smile “He’s done travelling, he wants to return” he added, now both James and Remus giving him a understanding smile “I guess it’s time I finally introduce him to you?” he added and let out a laugh.
“Yeah about that. How come we never met him until now?” James asked, joining the other two on the couch, brows up and waiting for Sirius’ answer.
“Well, I don’t really know actually” he said, after putting a hard thought on it “But better now than never?” he said and the other two nodded at him, laughs slipping through their lips.
”When do we meet him, love?” Remus asked after giving Sirius a soft kiss on his forehead, now running his hand through the other’s one black long thick hair.
“Well.. tomorrow” Sirius said and then looked James and then back at Remus “I’ll get him from the train station and I’ll meet you two in the park?” he said in waiting of an answer from the other two.
”Good, that’s perfect love” Remus responded, giving Sirius a calming smile that made Sirius snuggle more in his chest.
”Well, looking forward to impress the young Black” James said while getting up from the couch, receiving laughter from the others and a soft kick from Sirius that made him speed up the way to his bedroom.
It was almost midnight, and James just went straight into bed, not before looking again at his soulmate mark that he once again touched lightly, still being hopeful that the day he’ll meet his soulmate was coming soon.

Sirius was standing onto the platform, nervously, waiting for the train his brother was on, to finally arrive so he can finally see his brother after three years. They were really close, in despite of their abusive parents who wouldn’t show a bit of affection towards anyone, Sirius and Regulus loved each other, and sometimes they said it’s the only thing that kept them sane in the hell they were living back then with their now-dead parents. Sirius was a bit crushed down when Regulus decided to travel around the world. Even if he had Remus, his soulmate that sometimes he wouldn’t believe he got stuck with this amazing man, and his Best Friend James who was just as much of a brother to him that was Regulus. He always had a part of the soul lost when Regulus left, but now that part was brought back to him.
The train could be heard now pretty well, and how Sirius turned his head to his right, he could see the train getting closer to him, with loud noises along the way. His heart was in his throat and he could feel his ears getting warm when the train stopped in front of him. After searching with his eyes between the people that were stepping out of the train, he could now see a middle-height handsome man, with long black curls, a sharp jawline with pointy cheekbones, getting out of the train. When the man spotted Sirius, he gave him a refreshing smile, now getting closer to him, carrying after him a black suitcase with his initials “R.A.B” on it. He left everything down and hugged Sirius like there was no tomorrow. Sirius wrapped his arms protectively around his brother, as the shorter one was sobbing happily into the other’s one chest. Sirius had tears in his eyes as well, who he held as much possible as he could before falling prey to his emotions.
Minutes later, sadly, they had to break the hug and pull themselves together. They had the same tooth-showing smile and the same grey eyes that were intriguing and mind-blowing.
“I’ve missed you so much Reg” the older one said, his ever grin formed from his lips was showing.
”Oh that nickname” Regulus said, letting a gentle laugh slip through his curved lips.
“Oh shut up, you love it” Sirius added, letting out a laugh as well before the two of them reduced everything to a smile.
”Indeed I do” Regulus said and modded his head softly. He was happy to be back, to his brother and the live he missed all days.
Sirius took his brother’s suitcase before letting him comment about it. They were now heading to the exit of the train station.
”We can stop by at home to let your things there and then we can meet with the boys in the park, they’re already there” Sirius said after reading the text he got on his phone, that he was now placing it again in his pocket.
“So finally I get to meet your soulmate” Regulus said, tongue clicking “A bit disappointed that it’s just now” he added, now his head was shaking softly, making now both of them laugh.
”Well, I honestly don’t know why haven’t you met them already” Sirius said with a soft laugh “But leave it, have you find your soulmate dear brother?” he added in curiosity.
“Nope” Regulus shook his head and Sirius put on his shocked face that made Regulus laugh.
”You Regulus Black, travelled the whole world and still haven’t found your soulmate” Sirius said and shook his head in disbelief.
”That bastard is hiding himself pretty well from me” Regulus said and let out a laugh, before getting inside the tall building with his brother.
They were now walking up on the stairs, arriving at the right floor. Sirius stood in front of a brown mahogany door that they both pass through once it was open. Regulus had a soft look around while Sirius went to the guest room to leave his brother things in there. He liked the simplicity and feeling of home this flat had and he was glad to know that this will be the environment he’ll be living from now on.
“I’ll give you a tour tonight when we return home” Sirius said when he reappeared in the room, grabbing Regulus wrist and dragged him out “We’ll better move quick, James isn’t the type of person to stay still for more than 10 minutes” Sirius said making Regulus laugh as they were now leaving the building.

”Just texted Sirius to let him know we’re here” Remus said, now joining his best mate on the bench.
“Are you nervous to meet your brother-in-law?” James said with a big grin on his face.
“Yes I am, but I know that he’s not as childish as Sirius, so I think we’ll get on with each other” Remus replied and now both him and James laughed softly.
”Mate, no-one’s more childish than Sirius” James said moving his gaze from Remus to a stand, now far away from them “Candy floss!” he half-yelled before getting up and walking towards it.
”No-one he said” Remus laughed and shook his head as he watched the curly haired boy tall boy with round glassed in front of those amazing hazel eyes, getting candy-floss.
Minutes later and after James finished the pink candy floss that he absolutely loved, they could see two silhouettes walking towards them. Two similar boys, only that one was a bit taller than the other, were walking right to James and Remus who were both now standing still, giving them a big smile.
”It’s nice to meet you Regulus” the tall handsome man with blonde curls and amber-brown eyes said giving the other one a calming smile “I’m Remus” he said and Regulus’ smile widened.
”It’s so nice to meet you Remus” Regulus said now giving the taller one a big hug “Thank you, for loving this dumb-ass child” he added now all of them laughed.
”It’s my pleasure” Remus said, smiling and giving a quick peck on the lips to Sirius who was soft blushing.
“So you’re his brother” a arms crossed James with a cocky smile on his face said to the other one, who had his top of the head reaching James’ shoulder that he absolutely find cute.
“You were expecting something else?” Regulus said without a thought in his mind, copying the same arms-crossed position as the one he had in front of him.
Remus elbowed Sirius that just now realised what the two of them just had said to each other. His lips formed a big “O” and Remus had a big smile on his face. James and Regulus were staring at each other without saying a word or having any clue what just happened.
“For the love of god are you two that stupid?” Sirius said now getting the attention of the two fresh found soulmates that had no idea what Sirius was talking about “Are you two serious? Well no cuz I am, but really?” he added, making James and Regulus to share a confused look, when Sirius raised his hands in the air, insinuating that he’s done.
”Oh my god James Potter, you stare at that mark on your chest every day and you don’t recognise it when it’s said to you?” Remus said, now James figured out what just happen, and so did Regulus.
James was having a hand covering his mouth, his eyes on the other one who was just smiling like a fool. James actually felt attracted to Regulus from the first glance he had on him. He was so pretty that James was so mesmerised by him. Those eyes were giving him shivers on his spine and the smile he received from him were waking up the butterflies on his stomach. He wanted to hug him so much and to run his hand through his beautiful silk dark hair, but he had a whole life to do so.
“So you’re my soulmate” Regulus said with a dumb smile on his face that made James smile the biggest he’s ever smiled.
”You were expecting something else?” James mocked Regulus that now was laughing at him, soft hitting him on his chest “Can I just hug you?” James asked as he was getting closer to the shorter one.
”I would love that” Regulus responded and now they hugged. Tightly, Regulus getting into James’ loving arms, buried his face on the other’s one chest as he was having his arms wrapped tightly around the man he always dreamed to do that with, while Regulus was having his arms on James’ back, holding onto him.
“We’re still here you know” Sirius said dramatically but he was really happy about both of them finding their soulmate, but more happier that it was one another.
“Rem shut him please” James said, getting a soft laugh from Remus who was now kissing Sirius on his lips, and from Regulus that was still holding onto him tightly, and James loved that.

After a day spent outside, now the four boys were watching a movie. James was coming from the kitchen with four bowls of popcorn and four beers that he placed on the small table. Remus was sitting on the warm chair, with Sirius on his lap, cuddling with each other and Regulus on the couch. James gave each one their bowl and sat on the arm-chair situated right next to the couch, and right in the part Regulus was staying. They gave each other’s looks and were blushing every time they caught each other staring. They were unbelievably happy that they found each other.
“Come here” Regulus whispered to his soulmate while the movie was in the middle and the other two were too distracted from the movie to notice anything around them.
“Of course” James added and he stood up. Regulus made him space to sit to, and he did. He sat down on the couch and Regulus got into his arms again. James wrapped his arms around Regulus and was holding him tight and protectively so the other one could feel safe, and he did. James placed a kiss on the top of Regulus’ head that made both their heart flatter.
It was middle of the night and Remus and Sirius retired to their bedroom. James was now looking at Regulus who has just stand up from the couch. He held out a hand that James gently hold, now getting up from the couch. James was holding Regulus hand tight, and now he was walking to his bedroom, and the balcony with Regulus willingly following him.
James was back hugging Regulus tightly, keeping him warm as the other one was feeling the best ever while being in the most loving arms he’s longed to be in forever. James was giving soft kisses on Regulus neck and made the other one get goosebumps and heat rushing into his cheeks, making his soft skin red.
”You know, I was longing to meet you” James said while hugging Regulus tighter “Not just as soulmate, but as Sirius’ brother” he added and Regulus smiled brightly “I knew how important you are to Sirius and I knew you’ll be important to me too” James said and he left a kiss on Regulus’ head.
”I’ve always wanted to meet you, both soulmate and Sirius’ best mate” Regulus said “and I’m glad I finally did” he added whispering, now turning so he’s facing James that was staring into his eyes like he was preparing to do all his life.
”Can I kiss you?” James asked whispering, while putting a strand of Regulus’ hair behind his ear.
”Yes, please” Regulus responded whispering.
And their lips met. Soft and gentle, their lips were crushing one another. At the feeling of his lips over his, Regulus was melting under him and James was feeling heat rose from his stomach to his chest that made his heart beat against the other’s one. Regulus’ lips placed on his was everything James always wanted, and finally he had it. Regulus parted his lips softly, feeling James heavy warm breath while his tongue was situated at the top of his lips for the other’s one. Their tongues touched each other and it was the most gentle ever. After a soft break of catching air, James pulled Regulus in, claiming his mouth again, hungry and intense, until his knees gave in. By the time Regulus became aware of his fingers, they had already slipped through the curls of the man that belong to him now, while James was having his hand on Regulus’ smooth and raiding heat soft skin that he could never get tired of touch. And they kept kiss, as if time had sopped right there, as they stood in the soft cold wind, bodies against one another, as if no one else existed.
Minutes later, they were getting in James’ bed, Regulus got once again in James’ loving arms that were wrapped around him tight, while he was having a his head on James chest. That moment, is when James knew he’ll love Regulus more than anything for the rest of his life, and so did Regulus.

epilogue
Regulus was now letting the bags in the kitchen. It was after Regulus and Remus come back home from grocery shopping when Sirius got into Remus’ arms, holding into each other. Regulus went to his and James’ room, to find him bare-chested in front of the mirror, tracing his soft fingers after his soulmate mark. Regulus’ heart melt when seeing him doing that after all those years.
Regulus stood by James, his fingers were now crossing over the mark, that James let a big smile show off. James placed his hand over Regulus mark that quoted the first words he ever said to him, ‘So you’re his brother’. It was an intimate things that they were doing, appreciating the words that made them fall in love and forever be by each other’s side.
They had a big love that you couldn’t find easy, and it will last for the rest of their life.
James left a soft kiss on the other’s one lips and he whispered to him “I love you” with a soft smile that made Regulus weak on his knees.
“I love you too” Regulus whispered, placing his forehead against the other’s one “Last night you were saying you’ll talk to your whole world?—“ Regulus asked with a soft laugh slipping through his wet lips when James gave him a big smile.
”I am doing that right now” he whispered before kissing Regulus again, and pulling him into a hug, lastly giving him a kiss on his head.
