His Lobster
While getting Zhenya into the car had been fairly simple, getting him out seemed to be a more difficult task. The remaining anesthesia seemed to be wearing off while also tiring Zhenya out, making him a dead weight as Jackson tried to carefully help out of the car.
“C’mon, baby. You gotta work with me.” Jackson said, grabbing Zhenya’s hands carefully as he pulled the other man towards him.
Letting out a huff, Zhenya pushed himself out, his knees wobbling as he stood, “‘m so tired, Котенок.” He whined, resting his head onto his boyfriend’s shoulder. Jackson rubbed his back gently as he closed the car door, heading toward their front door.
Jackson unlocked the door, getting them inside as quick as he could, “I know, Zhenya. We’re gonna get you in some comfy clothes, take your meds and then you can sleep.” His only answer was a soft whine, the taller man leaning into him more. He led the way to their room, getting Zhenya to sit on the bed.
As soon as he was sure Zhenya wouldn’t fall over, he got out the correct dose of medicine and a bottle of water, “Alright, babe. We’ve gotta get your gauze out so you can take your meds. Can you open your mouth a bit more?” Jackson asked, trying to grab the edges of the gauze that peeked out as Zhenya widened his mouth a bit.
The taller man’s eyes widened as he saw the bloody fabric pulled from his mouth, “That was in my mouth?” He gasped as Jackson threw them away.
Nodding, Jackson opened up the water, “Yeah, it was soaking up the blood from where your teeth were. Now, focus for me, Zhenya. You’ve got to take these two pills okay?” He said holding them out.
Zhenya carefully took the pills out of Jackson’s hand, eyes suspicious, “What for?”
A sigh left Jackson’s lips as he watched his boyfriend wiggle the pills around his hands. He should’ve known he’d be difficult about this, Zhenya never liked taking medicine, pills especially. “They’re pain meds. You know I wouldn’t give them to you unless it was necessary. Once your anesthesia fully wears off, your mouth is going to be really hurting. These’ll help. Please take them, Zhenya, for me.” There was a long pause before Zhenya let out a sigh of his own.
“Yeah, yeah okay. I take them,” He quickly threw them into his mouth before taking the water from Jackson, taking a big gulp to get the pills down. “My mouth taste bad.”
Jackson ran his fingers through the other man’s hair as he took another sip, swishing the water in his mouth carefully, “I’m sorry babe.” He said, pressing a kiss to his forehead before going to get him some comfy clothes to change into.
He pulled out a comfy pair of joggers, worn and soft from how often Zhenya wore them, before glancing back, “Do you want a shirt or would you rather go without?” Jackson asked.
Leaning back into the headboard, Zhenya shrugged, “Go without. Easier than trying to put new shirt on.” He muttered, finishing off the water bottle before sitting it on the bedside table. Jackson brought the sweats over before helping Zhenya take off his hoodie and shirt carefully without bumping his face.
“These sweats good?” Jackson said, unfolding them and laying them out in front of Zhenya to see.
The other man rubbed his fingers over the soft material, humming happily before he nodded, “Very good.” He mumbled, shifting his hips so he could push his jeans off and get the sweats on. Jackson took his dirty clothes to the hamper while he changed and when he got back, Zhenya had made his way under the blankets.
Long arms reached out from under the blankets, grabby hands opening and closing towards Jackson, “Come cuddle me, Котенок. Please.” Zhenya said softly, the medicine beginning to make him drowsy.
Jackson smiled, kicking off his own jeans before crawling in next to Zhenya, “Want the TV on?” He asked, leaning on the headboard before he grabbed the remote off the table. Zhenya moved closer, his head resting on Jackson’s thigh.
The taller man hummed softly, somehow curling up to seem smaller than someone who was 6’4” should be able to, as Jackson’s fingers began running through his hair, “We watch our show. Put on Friends?” Zhenya asked, blinking sleepily up at Jackson.
They had started from the beginning and had gotten to somewhere in the middle of season 3. After getting it set-up, Jackson set the remote aside and moved so he was lying next to his boyfriend. Zhenya automatically resituated himself, his head resting carefully on Jackson’s chest.
“Thank you for taking care of me, Котенок. You’re my lobster.” Zhenya mumbled, already beginning to doze as he listened to the steady beating of Jackson’s heart under his head.
Jackson couldn’t hold back the giant smile that spread on his face. Zhenya had loved that episode, Phoebe was his favorite character so he had taken to using a lot of her phrases. ‘You’re my lobster’ had become a very common phrase in their house, but that didn’t stop the happiness that spread throughout Jackson’s body every time Zhenya told him.
He could feel Zhenya’s breathing begin to steady out, a sure sign he was sleeping as the sound of soft snores filled the room but he couldn’t help himself from replying, “And you’re mine. Always.” Jackson whispered, pressing a soft kiss to the top of his boyfriend’s head.
It had been a hectic day but with moments like this, it was all worth it.
