Your Love is my Drug

Sirius had been staring at the blank screen of their television for 10 minutes, give or take. There was the occasional blink but his eyes didn’t move from the screen. Remus only knew this because he had been watching Sirius watch the television screen for the past 10 minutes.

Needless to say, they were pretty high.

They didn’t do this often. Maybe once or twice every couple of months when they just needed to relax. And this week, it was definitely needed. They’d had back-to-back games with way too much travel time. Now, they were finally off for the long weekend. They had stopped at a new dispensary on their way home and were now well on their way to stoned as hell.

“What’re you watching?” Remus asked, his eyes flickering slowly between Sirius’s face and the screen.

Sirius’s eyebrows furrowed, a small wrinkle appearing on his forehead. The look he gave Remus was one as if he thought Remus was the crazy one. “I’m watching the television.”

Unable to hold back his laughter any longer, Remus fell over on the couch, loud laughs shaking his shoulders, “You absolute dork, it’s off!”

“I can still watch it when it’s off, non?’ Sirius huffed indignantly. When all he got in response was wheezing laughter, he reached over, shoving his boyfriend to the floor.

Remus let out a squawk as he hit the floor, his head popping up to glare at Sirius, “That was fucking rude.” He muttered before sprawling back out on the carpet.

The two enjoyed the silence for a while, the effects of the marijuana seeped into what felt like every inch of their body. Sirius couldn’t help but let out a happy sigh, his eyes falling closed just before his boyfriend spoke again.

“Hey, baby?” Remus murmured, his hand coming up to grab in the general direction of where thought Sirius’s was. He received a hum in reply, Sirius’s hand finding his and squeezing to let Remus know he was listening.

Remus paused, getting momentarily lost in the feeling of Sirius’s thumb tracing over his hand, “If I was a worm, would you still love me?”

It was Sirius’s turn to pause, his thumb stopped moving as he glanced down at his boyfriend, “Quoi?”

“I said if I was a worm, would you still love me?” Remus muttered, his lower lip pushing out into a pout as Sirius burst into giggles, pressing a gentle kiss to the back of Remus’s hand.

“Oh, Loops... mon cheri, you’re so fucking high.”
Remus let out a whine, sitting up so he could flop over Sirius’s chest on the couch, “You’re not answering my question, Siri,” He mumbled, mouth pressed into the soft cotton of Sirius’s t-shirt.

A gentle hand lifted his face so he was looking straight at Sirius, who couldn’t hold back the overly fond look that was on his face. It was a very common look for him, especially when he was looking at Remus. He was very smitten, sue him.

“Mon loup, of course, I would love you if you were a worm. I’d love you if you were an ant or a snake or a fucking beluga whale. I don’t care what type of creature you may happen to be, I just love you.”

Remus couldn’t help the soft smile that spread on his face, leaning into Sirius’s hand, “I’d love you too if you were a worm. But I especially love you right now.”

The entirety of Sirius’s body felt like it was on fire in the best of ways. Before Remus, he had never imagined having this closeness with someone. Where you could be silly in the best of ways while also being able to talk about everything and anything. Just knowing that Remus would forever be there with him, loving him and supporting him.. It was better than any drug on the planet.
