“I’m really excited. My friend said she watched it and thought I would enjoy it.”
”Really,” Vivian responded, her back turned as she opened the bottle of red on the counter. “You, Avery Morgan, would enjoy this teen drama show? Are you sure about that?”
Avery rolled her eyes. “What does that even mean?”
”You’re a self-proclaimed anti-romance person, everyone’s told me that. Tristian, Max, the Captain, even Rhonda.”
Avery gasped, “not Rhonda!”
“Besides,” her girlfriend continued, having finished pouring the wine in both glasses as she carried them to the couch. “What even is the plot of this show?”
“If you had let me continue,” Avery held out her hand and Vivian shoved the glass of wine towards her. “My friend said I would enjoy making fun of it. Apparently it’s about a girl who decides to study abroad in Korea because of her boyfriend and ends up in a lot of drama.”
Vivian sipped her glass of wine, “Ah, so she thought you would enjoy making fun of the romance. Yeah, that makes more sense for you my love. Alright, queue it up then.”
Avery pointed the remote at the tv in her room before playing the first episode. Settling back on the couch, she laced her fingers with Vivian’s and took a sip of her own glass of wine.
”Wait, wait, wait. Hold up. Did she just convince her parents that she should go alone to a different country? How old is she?”
”Darling, I studied abroad as a teenager as well.”
“Yeah, but you’re rich,” Avery blurted out.
“This is really fancy, like didn’t they say she’s like essentially poor?”
”Aves, you’re like weirdly invested in this.”
”I told you, I’m making fun of it.”
”Oh no, they’re fake dating. Oh they’ll never be able to pull this off.”
”Wait??? How did they pull this off?”
”Why did my friend say this girl is like me?”
”Yuri Han, huh? Yeah she kind of is like you, weirdly.”
”Take that back Viv.”
“Oh no, not the cupcake tower. I kind of feel bad for this child.”
Avery scoffed. “Do not feel bad. She’s stupid for coming all the way to another country for a boy she likes.”
”Well, that was certainly entertaining, darling.” Vivian said, curling up around Avery on the couch.
Avery was sitting upright, eyes alternating between the screen and her phone, where she was texting her thoughts on the show to the friend who recommended it to her.
She finally put the phone down and turned to Vivian with a soft look on her face.
“Want to do it again, tomorrow?”
In lieu of a response, Vivian just pulled her down for a kiss.
