Light looked back at his plate, picking up another spoonful of beans as he took in that information.
This 'Pet' woman is most likely his aunt. His mother was the genius in this family. She grew up and attended a school for special children. Since he was in Britain, was it the same school L attended in the past? Wammy's?
"We're taking him in, Petunia," the man said as he placed one hand on the woman's shoulder. Light finally has a name for her. Thinking back, he heard a shout of 'Vernon' when he woke up. So that must be this man's name.
"If we need to," Vernon narrowed his eyes as he looked down at Light, "we will stomp the freakishness out of him. Then he doesn't have to go."

Light chewed on his beans as he thought. That sounded like his future would be filled with child abuse. His eyes went from the standing, clearly obese man to the obviously anorexic woman and settled on the drooling child sleeping peacefully.
