The God of the New World opened his eyes.
Ryuk, he decided, was a dirty, filthy, liar. This was not Mu, not nothingness. This was painPainpainPaInpAiNPaIN.
Bright green lights, rumbling in his ears, the phantom ache of a heart attack in his chest and a burning brand on his forehead. His eyes watered, and Light opened his mouth, trying to breath through the pain and prevent a panic attack.
No, this was not Mu but Light wished it were. Mu would be preferable to this. Even when Matsuda the idiot, shot him, it was not this painful. L's kicks were not this painful. The 2-month-long imprisonment was not this painful. A heart attack was not this painful (and he would know).
