As the dance moved on from the upbeat and dunking music, it changed to a slower song as the partygoers paired up one after the other. Yet as she turned around to walk to the balcony, avoiding this part of the dance as the one person she wanted to dance with was nowhere to be seen. But that’s when she saw her.
Descending those stairs like an angel with that gorgeous white dress that hugged her petite form perfectly. The way it shined like diamonds in the light, and her crystal blue eyes that locked with hers while she approached her.
“May I have this dance, Ruby?” She asked while Ruby barely understood what was happening.
“Y-yes, I’d love to” she stumbled on her words as she responded.
Weiss let out a small chuckle, what she’d do to be able to hear that every day, she thought mindlessly as Weiss led them to the dance floor.
“Do you know how to do this? Here, let me help you” she said as she grabbed Ruby’s arms and placed them on her waist, while her slender arms rested on her shoulders as the music lyrics started to play.

Weiss responded by locking her arms around her neck and bringing them closer, her once-pleased and happy smile turned into a more smug and playful one.

Ruby then turned her gaze towards Jaune and Pyrrha, who were leaning into Jaune’s embrace while they danced with their eyes closed. And so she decided to hide her blush and took the initiative. Leaving Weiss stunned for a moment, before doing the same.

Weiss had always had an aura of mystery to her, she always knew everything and was always ready for everything, never being surprised. Yet here, all that faded away and for the first time, she felt like she saw her for who she truly was. A loving woman who always kept her friend's best interest in mind, even at her own detriment, a brave and strong huntress with extraordinary abilities. And above all else. She was her partner and teammate, one she would always be proud to be.

As the song was nearing its end they let go of their close embrace, with Ruby’s hands still on her hip and Weiss's hands on Ruby’s shoulders. But as they looked into each other's eyes, almost drowning in them, Weiss's hands travelled upward to her neck while those blue eyes silently asked for permission. One Ruby was more than happy to give.
The trumpets sounded out and they once more leaned in with their eyes closed, but this time their lips locked and everything else became irrelevant. She knew she’d be teased by Yang and Blake later but she didn’t care. For now, all that mattered was this moment she had right now.
