“So, this means a new semester, new Kitty!” Kitty smiled up at him sweetly, Q next to her as they both waited for his response.
Dae was not expecting an ambush when he returned from grabbing coffee with Minho. He was expecting a quiet day, slowly unpacking everything in his dorm.
He did not expect his roommate and his ex-girlfriend to surprise him with a plot to fix his love life.
Dae was fine with Kitty. After the break and lots of time to recover, he realized that they had grown, there was distance between them. They’ll always be each other’s first love, but now when he looks at her, he feels fondness, and friendship. They’ll always have the good times, and he’s still blessed to have her in his life.
Though, this new idea, Dae also remembers why Kitty Song Covey is also a nuisance in his life.
“So instead of focusing on your love life this time, you’ll be focusing on mine?” Dae repeated in confusion.
“You know, the love life that included you?”
Kitty clapped excitedly while nodding her head. Dae wondered if that was causing her neck to hurt. “When I went home, Margot and Lara Jean reminded me that I was good at love, especially their love lives. You remember me telling you how I got LJ and Peter together?”
Dae nodded absently, not even following the conversation. At this point, he was just trying to figure out how to get out of this whole thing.
Q snapped his fingers in his face. “Focus, buddy buddy. We’re going to get you a girlfriend!”
At that point, Minho decided to make his entrance. Dae just stared at him, hoping he could sense that Dae needed help.
Minho, of course, as usual was focused on taking selfies of himself. Dae just stared helplessly as the boy walked by.
Dae closed his eyes and cursed internally. Of course Minho would not help, usual. Why do these things always happen to him.
Dae did not notice Kitty and Q exchanging looks between the two boys. And he definitely did not notice the lightbulb moment the two of them had.
