Chapter 2
A small yellow bot, bright, green optics shining in the dark of the halls of the ship. He and his friend had just escaped from their abuse. He was happy to be away, but was worried about his friend, he had left a loving family. He himself didn't have family so didn't know what it felt like to leave them behind, he was worried his large friend regretted coming with him. The small bot stopped at the entrance to the cock pit and seeing his large dark green friend who was slowly flipping switches, and pressing buttons.
The yellow bot stepped up a half step, before stopping he was twisting his servos around each other. He vented heavily, before opening his mouth. "Hey Bulkhead, are you okay?" All he did was hum, his servos not stopping.
The small bot shrunk down and whined, he turned and ran back down the halls wiping oily tears from his optics. He went back to his room and closed and locked the door. He curled up on his bed, and sobbed silently, he learned to do that when crying had only got him in more trouble.
A knock on the door made him jump and scream slightly, he never had anyone check on him when he became upset. He stood and opened the door, letting the larger bot into the room. He went back to his bed and curled up his back to the door. He didn't want to see his only friends face when he decided to leave him alone once more.
"Hey Bumblebee, what's the matter? You seem to be upset is it something I did?" The large bot asked sitting on the bed behind his little buddy. He frowned when the smaller bot flinched when he touched his back plates.
"You know that I don't have family right?" Bumblebee asked not looking at the large bot behind him.
"Yeah, I know that," Bulkhead said contently rubbing the back plates of his little buddy.
"I don't know how it feels to leave loved ones behind, I don't want to tear you from your family."
Bulkhead vented heavily and put his servo on the shoulder plate he could reach and turned the bot around so he could bring the smaller bot to his chest and hugged him, "Bee, I will not leave you to be alone and vulnerable out here."
"But what about your family, you love them, you should go back. I'll be fine, I always am," the smaller bot said curling into a ball in his friend's lap not wanting affection just to have it wrenched from him.
"While I love my family, I want to be here with you I would be really worried about you if I wasn't out here with you I want to be out here with you, I wouldn't wish for anything different."
The yellow bot looked up at his friend and saw nothing but truth in his light green optics. The small smiled and hugged his large friend. Bulkhead had never seen his little buddy like this, he had always seemed to be confident and sure about himself. But now the large bot was thinking that he had it from everybody even him. His little friend needed to be told how much he cared about him. He needs a friend to be there for him and only him, even if it took him the rest of his life span he would reassure his little buddy that he was wanted and needed in his life.
