Absent Ammonite
Shelly traversed the seemingly empty library, slouched over with crossed arms. Her tail swayed back and forth, matching the rhythm of her slow walking.
The library was locked up for the night…The only reason Shelly had a spare key was because she was buddy-buddy with Brightney.
The realization that she had forgotten to lock the door behind her only hit Shelly when she heard the opening and shutting of the door.
The green light that Vee emitted in the dark was recognizable, but Shelly furthered herself away from the door.
“Shelly?” Vee calls out, venturing inward. “Shellyyyyy!”
Shelly continues to sneak around the library. She turns around a shelf, met with the sight of Vee’s unamused look. Shelly jumps, almost falling over.
“Wha- Vee!” Shelly scolds.
“There you are.” Vee crosses her arms. “I’ve got every damn toon in this establishment looking for your ass!”
“Well they can stop looking now.”
“Not. The point.” Vee growls, dragging Shelly by the arm over to a table and sitting both Shelly and herself down, side-by-side.
Shelly grits her teeth before speaking. “A whole brawl over being told that you might have trauma…it’s stupid!”
Vee sighs, looking at Shelly with a concerned expression. “Try to understand where Tisha’s coming from? It’s difficult to accept something like that…statistically.”
”I do understand! I can still be mad about it!”
Vee glances to the side. “You’re both rightfully mad, but…You are also both in the wrong.”
Shelly puts her head down, groaning. “How do I even apologize? ‘Hey, sorry for fighting you over saying that being twisted might have affected you mentally’. Am I stupid!?”
“We’ll cross that bridge when we get to it.” Vee turns around, looking across the room. “The other toons are still looking for you, and it’s late, so I want to get them to stop.”
“And Tisha?”
“Hiding in her room.” Vee answers.
“Oh.”
Vee grasps Shelly’s hand as she leads the ammonite out of the library.
Shelly’s tail goes from a slow lashing to a quicker wagging.
