Once upon a time in a far away kingdom, there lived a young small boy with black hair and green eyes, whose name was Harry. Unfortunately this young boy learned early on that dreams weren't reality. Harry's parents died when he was one, and with no other living relatives to speak of he was sent to live with his Aunt and Uncle, who had a young boy the same age as him. They did not treat him fairly. He was brought up to do all the chores of the house. He lived in the cupboard under the stairs and had dress in his cousins too big cast-offs. He was made to believe that he was a freak and unworthy of love. This is how he lived his life day after day. Cleaning, cooking, doing the laundry, weeding the garden, and anything else the Dursley's deemed 'unworthy of getting their hands dirty for'. His wicked cousin would always try to make things worse by blaming him for things that Dudley did or beat him up when he was bored.
One day the King sent out a call for all nobility to come to ball. The prince was looking for all available bachelors to attend so that maybe he would find someone to marry. The Dursley's were excited so much. This was their chance to become royalty. Their Dudley was sure to be picked. He was the perfect bachelor for the Prince. They demanded Harry to make them all wonderful ball gowns and tuxedoes.
"Faster!" Vernon cried.
"Make sure they are the best!" Petunia yelled.
Harry did his best and created the masterpieces with dignity.
"You call that a tuxedo?" Dudley cried. "Make me another!"
Harry whimpered. "When will I have time to make mine?"
"You? Go to the ball? Absolutely not!"
"What a laugh!"
They made such a big deal that Harry was unable to attend the ball as he wished. He bid them farewell as the left the manor. He walked to the courtyard and sighed. "I wish I could go to the ball."
Poof! "You called?" Harry stared not really believing there was a fairy in front of him.
"Who are you?" He asked.
"Why I am Sirius you fairy godparent, of course! I know your wish. I come to grant it."
"But that is simply impossible. I have nothing to wear and no way of getting there."
"Well, I am a fairy godparent! I have magical powers and I can fix all of that." He waved his wand over Harry's head and transfigured his oversized clothes into a deluxe fitted black satin tuxedo with matching shoes. Then he transfigured a pumpkin into a self driven carriage.
"Am I dreaming?"
"No young Harry. It is all real, but there is one thing you should know."
"What is that?" Harry asked.
"All of this lasts only to midnight. Tonight, at the stroke of midnight, it will all be over. Everything will go back to how it was before." Sirius proclaimed.
"Then I shall make sure to leave the ball before midnight." Harry promised.
Harry climbed into the carriage thanking his fairy godparent. And he was off.
Over at the ball, the Prince did not know what to think. “Why do you have that sad look on your face?” the Queen said to her son. “Look around you! You could not ask for finer bachelors than these.”
“I know, Mother,” said the Prince. Yet he knew something was wrong. He had met many of the young men. Yet after he said “hello,” one by one, he could find nothing more to say.
"Look!" Someone pointed to the front door. “Who is that?”
All heads turned. Who was that lovely bachelor stepping down the stairs? He held his head tall and looked as if he belonged. But no one knew him.
“There is something about him,” said the Prince to himself. “I will ask him to dance.” And he walked over to Harry.
“Have we met?” said the Prince.
“I am pleased to meet you now,” said Harry with a bow.
“I feel as if I know you,” said the Prince. “But of course, that is impossible.”
“Many things are possible,” said Harry, “if you wish them to be true.”
The Prince felt a leap in his heart. He and Harry danced. When the song was over, they danced again. And then they danced again, and yet again. Soon the other bachelors at the ball grew jealous. “Why is he dancing all the time with him?” they said. “How rude!”
But all the Prince could see was Harry. They laughed and talked, and they danced some more. In fact, they danced for so long that Harry did not see the clock.
“Dong!” said the clock.
Harry looked up.
“Dong!” went the clock again.
He looked up again. “Oh, my!” he cried out. “It is almost midnight!”
“Dong!” rung the clock.
“Why does that matter?” said the Prince.
“Dong!” called the clock.
“I must go!” said Harry.
“Dong!” went the clock.
“But we just met!” said the Prince. “Why leave now?”
“Dong!” rung the clock.
“I must GO!” said Harry. He ran to the steps.
“Dong!” said the clock.
“I cannot hear you,” said the Prince. “The clock is too loud!”
“Dong!” rung the clock.
“Goodbye!” yelled Harry. Up, up the stairs he ran.
“Dong!” went the clock.
“Please, stop for a moment!” asked the Prince.
“Oh, dear!” he said as ran off into the night. The Prince only hearing "My name is Harry by the way." As Harry bolted towards home.
All he had to go by were his looks and his name. He vowed he would find his Harry and marry him! As he went from house to house asking all eligible bachelor's their names all the bachelors would tell them his name but none were his Harry.
At last the Prince got to Harry's house.
"He's here!" Dudley exclaimed.
"Quickly get ready!" Petunia yelled.
She opened the door and let the Prince in. "I have one son for you to see."
But when asked his name, the Prince frowned. Still not his Harry.
"Are there no other young men in the house?"
"None."
"Then I must go." The Prince proclaimed.
"Maybe there is one more." Harry said stepping out.
“I thought you said there were no other young men here,” said the Prince.
“None who matter!” said Petunia in a hiss.
“Come here,” said the Prince. "What is your name?"
"My name is Harry by the way."
"I knew it! You are the one!" The Prince exclaimed.
"It cannot be!" Petunia screamed.
"Not him!" Dudley cried.
"My Dudley is better than that freak." Vernon agreed.
But it was too late. The Prince knew this was his Harry. He looked into Harry's eyes. He did not see the oversized clothes or the freak the Dursley's claimed him to be.
"I have found you!"
"And I have found you!" Harry murmured smiling.
And so the Prince and Harry courted and married not long after.
And they lived happily ever after.
