Explanation on the way to Diagon Alley
Harry stared at the Man shocked as they got onto a boat that started to move on its own to the shore. Harry sat in the boat silently thinking about what Hagrid said earlier about Gringotts and Medical plans.
“Excuse me Hagrid?”
Hagrid looked over to harry and replied
“Yes Harry, did you need something?”
Harry looked unsure before steeling himself and speaking
“What did you mean by Gringotts and a medical plan?”
Hagrid spoke “What I meant by that was we have to go to gringotts to get you a blood test done. It will tell ya all of the houses you're related to and any problems with health and your magic. The test will be taken to a healer the one you’re assigned is Poppy Pomphrey who is the nurse at Hogwarts. She will make up a medical plan for you so you can get better. In your case it's probably going to be a contract stating you will follow the diet planned for you during the nine months from starting Hogwarts on September 1st to the last day of school which is May 31st. You will also be getting your heir rings at gringotts which you should have known about from the start but I guess I’ll have to explain it.”
Hagrid looked at Harry, seeing his confused if not slightly shocked expression before continuing.
“You see, Harry, your family, the Potters were part of a system of ancient and noble houses in the wizarding world. There were twenty eight in total but the number has decreased in recent years. Your family was the Ancient and most noble house of potter, Your dad being the most recent lord of the house due to his passing and no other potter being alive other than you, his son. The lords sit in the governing body of the wizarding world called the Wizengamot in the ministry. When you turn seventeen which is the age of majority you’ll be allowed to start participating in the meeting which decides the laws and other such things for the government. I hope that answers your questions Harry.”
Harry looked thoughtful before replying
“It was helpful Hagrid , though I am still confused about the diet plan for school, can you explain that more to me? How will they make sure I follow it?”
Hagrid looked at the small boy for a minute before answering
“They would write a magical contract with the terms to follow and you’d sign it. It binds the person's magic to the contract making sure they know when they’re close to breaking it. If the contract is broken the person's magic is lost and they can’t use magic anymore. It’s standard for more extreme cases like yours, Harry, though you can add to the contract before signing it you just can’t make it so you don’t have to follow the diet plan though.”
Harry nodded thinking that it made sense. Just as that thought hit, the two were at the shore and started heading to London where Hagrid later told him where Gringotts was.
Timeskip
Harry and Hagrid were walking in the streets of London where Hagrid stopped in front of a pub with a sign over it with the words the Leaky Cauldron. The people around them acted like it didn’t exist.
“This here Harry is the entrance to Diagon Alley the more well known shopping area for magicals. There's also Vertic Alley where most of the clothing stores are as well as one or two wand makers and eye healers. The clothing stores there sell a mixture of magical and muggle clothes, and the wandmakers craft wands that are slightly more in tune with the witch or wizard than ones you’d find in say Diagon. The other Alley is Horizont Alley where more of the furniture and home decor supplies are sold. Then we have the seedier side of the shopping areas, Knockturn Alley where many people sell dark artifacts and other such less accepted supplies.”
Harry looked at the pub and was excited to see what was to come. The two then went inside the pub where a man called out to Hagrid.
“Hagrid! Fancy seeing you here, are you up for a pint?”
Hagrid sighed “Afraid not Tom, me and my charge here need to head to gringotts as fast as possible.”
Leaning closer to Tom, Hagrid whispered “Be best if we keep it quiet for now Tom, little Harry doesn’t need to deal with the mobbing that’ll happen if everyone knows he’s here. It’s a matter that needs to be dealt with by the DMLE and Wizarding Child Services and some Healers.”
Tom looked at Harry and an Understanding glint came into his eye “ Alright Hagrid best be on your way then and don’t worry at least for me you two were never here.” Tom smiled as they went to the back of the pub.
Hagrid stopped in front of a Brick wall confusing Harry. “Um Hagrid, why did we stop?"
Hagrid smiled at the boy and said “Well Harry, the entrance to Diagon is here, just watch.”
Hagrid tapped the bricks in a pattern which caused them to move. Hagrid chuckled at Harry’s awestruck face before speaking. “Welcome Harry to Diagon Alley!”
