Chapter 2

Kakashi was hanging out with Asuma, and Gai when one of the Hokage’s ANBU summoned them to the Hokage office.

“Kakashi Hatake, Asuma Sarutobi, Might Gai, Hokage-sama summons you.” The butterfly-masked ANBU said.

------

When the trio arrived at the Hokage’s office, they saw Kurenai and Obito waiting for them (At least ever since Rin’s death Obito started to come early. Kakashi did not want to have to wait for him!).

The three of them kneeled to their Hokage.

“Hokage-sama you summoned us?” The bowl-cut teen asked.

“Yes, Kakashi, Obito, Gai, Asuma, Kurenai, I have a mission for you guys. It is a year long mission and failure could lead to terrible consequences. What I’m going to tell you is classified information, do not tell anybody. Us people of the Hidden Nations are very sealed off from the rest of the world. Only us Five Kages know about the Outside World, and nobody but us Hokages have been there. The borders are very sealed so nobody can come in or get out, however I had heard from an old friend of mine that there has been recent rumors of missing-nin escaping past the borders of the Hidden Nations and forming an alliance with the most feared Wizard of the Outside World.”

“I want you guys to go and investigate those rumors, get rid of those missing-nin and protect Hogwarts for the rest of the year. Do you understand?” The blonde told them.

“Hai” They all said.

“You will leave for Hogwarts on October 30th. Spend the rest of the time learning English, I have some English dictionaries for you guys to use. The rest of the information is in the scroll. Questions?”

“Hokage-sama, do wizards really exist?” Kurenai asked

“Indeed they do. They are different from us, we use chakra and they use ‘magic’. Wizards can’t use shinobi techniques and we can’t use spells. However, seeing as you are a genjutsu specialist, you could use genjutsu to recreate those spells.” Minato stated.

After answering some questions the five of them left the Hokage’s Tower and began studying English.

------

Kakashi walked up to ROOT headquarters to report to Danzo.

“You guys can go but Kakashi stay here. I need to talk to you.” Minato said

“Sensei, did you need something?” The silverette asked the blonde

“Thanks for spying on Danzo for me, I really appreciate it. You can inform him of your mission, if he does not like it he will have to deal with me.” Minato told his student

“Anything for the sake of the village sensei. I’ll go report to him, see you later sensei!” Kakashi said as he left through the window.

“Hey! We have a door!” Minato yelled after his student.

He’s a bit scared, but well here it goes.

He walks in and feels the cold atmosphere of ROOT that he has never quite gotten used to. Kakashi keeps walking to Danzo’s office and when he gets there he knocks on the door.

“Danzo-sama, may I come in?” Kakashi asked in an emotionless voice like all of the other ROOT members.

“You may come in Hound.” Danzo said.

Kakashi walks in and kneels to Danzo, and says,

“Danzo-sama I will be going on a year-long mission to Hogwarts.”

“Oh? Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Why would you need to go there?” The bandaged man asked.

“We were asked to guard the school and investigate rumors about missing-nin escaping the borders.” The silver-haired teen replied.

“Oh? I see, quite interesting. Thanks Hound. You are dismissed.”

September 1st 1994

Harry and his friends were listening as Dumbledore talks about what will be happening this year.

“As I was saying,” Dumbledore said, “we are to have the honor of hosting a very exciting event over the coming months, an event that has not been held for over a century. It is my very great pleasure to inform you that the Triwizard Tournament will be taking place at Hogwarts this year.”
“You're joking!” they heard Fred say loudly.

“I am not joking, Mr. Weasley.” Dumbledore said.

“The Triwizard Tournament was first established some seven hundred years ago as a friendly competition between the three largest European schools of wizardry: Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang. A champion was selected to represent each school, and the three champions competed in three magical tasks. The schools took it in turns to host the tournament once every five years, and it was generally agreed to be a most excellent way of establishing ties between young witches and wizards of different nationalities - until, that is, the death toll mounted so high that the tournament was discontinued.”

“Though this year we will be adding a new school to participate. This school is Konoha Academy of Magic from Japan. So technically, it is the Quadwizard Tournament.” Dumbledore stated.

The Great Hall bursted into whispers.

“I’ve never heard of a wizarding school in Japan. I’ll go look it up later.” Hermione said.

"There have been several attempts over the centuries to reinstate the tournament," Dumbledore continued, "none of which has been very successful. However, our own departments of International Magical Cooperation and Magical Games and Sports have decided the time is ripe for another attempt. We have worked hard over the summer to ensure that this time, no champion will find himself or herself in mortal danger.

"The heads of Beauxbatons and Durmstrang and the students from Konoha Academy of Magic will be arriving in October, and the selection of the four champions will take place at Halloween. An impartial judge will decide which students are most worthy to compete for the Triwizard Cup, the glory of their school, and a thousand Galleons personal prize money."

“I’m going for it!” Fred Wealsey hissed, he was not the only person who was visualizing himself as the Hogwarts champion.

"Eager though I know all of you will be to bring the Triwizard Cup to Hogwarts," he said, "the heads of the participating schools, along with the Ministry of Magic, have agreed to impose an age restriction on contenders this year. Only students who are of age - that is to say, seventeen years or older - will be allowed to put forward their names for consideration. This is a measure we feel is necessary, given that the tournament tasks will still be difficult and dangerous, whatever precautions we take, and it is highly unlikely that students below sixth and seventh year will be able to cope with them. I will personally be ensuring that no underage student hoodwinks our impartial judge into making them Hogwarts champion." Dumbledore stated, “However this rule does not apply to the Konoha champion.”
At this, the Great Hall once again bursted into whispers. Multiple students yelled out things like “That isn’t fair!” or “If the Konoha champion is under the age of seventeen and able to compete in the Tournament then we should be able to compete too!”

“Quiet!” Dumbledore’s voice raised higher, “There is no one in their school who is seventeen, their highest age is sixteen years. Unfortunately, their headmaster will not be able to come here. Now the people from Beauxbatons, Drumstrang and Konoha Academy will be arriving in October and remaining with us for the rest of the school years. Now, it is late, go to bed. Chop chop!”

With that the students went and left the Great Hall.

------

Time went by fast and before they knew it was October. It was the night before they had to go, Asuma, Gai, Obito, Kurenai and Kakashi were gathered in Obito’s apartment.

“So, everyone learned English?” Asuma asked, in response he got nods. “So which one of us should compete in the Tournament?”

“My Rival should! If anything happens he’ll be able to protect the champions!” Gai said.

“I agree with Gai, Kakashi should do it. If anything happens to the people watching then we’ll be able to protect them.” Kurenai agreed.

“Yup! We are all able to protect the champions but as of right now, Bakakashi is the strongest of us. I have my Mokuton.”

“I suppose that could work, Kakashi, are you fine with that?”

“Sure, I like tournaments anyway. So based on the information we have, we are to protect Hogwarts but our main goal is to protect Harry Potter?” The silver-haired asked.

“Mhm, isn’t he the one with the glasses and scar on his head? Judging from the files Dumbledore-sama sent us..” Obito questioned.

“Yeah he is, we should split up now. Bye guys”

“I shall run around the village to prepare for the youthful mission tomorrow!” The taijutsu master said as he ran off to who knows where.

The other four sweat-dropped.

“How do you stand him Bakakashi?? He’s so weird” The Uchiha asked his silver-haired friend.

“Maa, you just get used to it.”

After Asuma and Kurenai left, Obito asked Kakashi how his sharingan training is going.

“It’s going well, it’s a bit harsh but it’s fine. I’m getting better with the Mangekyou. Danzo-sama seems to know a lot of things about it.. It’s a bit suspicious. How about your training with Fugaku-sama?”

“Fugaku-oji told me to tell you to be careful around Danzo, the fact that he knows way more than he should about the sharingan is suspicious. They have some suspicions on what is behind his bandages.. Anyways, Fugaku-oji’s training is good! I’m getting stronger and stronger each day! The Uchiha stopped looking down on me and finally acknowledged my existence, though they are still a bit angry that I won’t take my sharingan back from you.. But I don’t care! Anyways I’ll become stronger than you in no time Bakakashi! Just you wait.” Obito exclaimed.

“Ah that’s nice, I know Minato-sensei told you about me keeping an eye on Danzo so don’t worry. It’s nice that they finally acknowledged you. The villagers are starting to be nice to me, it honestly feels weird.. Since I was five the villagers shunned me and now they're praising me? It’s really weird..” Kakashi said.

“Yeah I know what you mean, the clan used to tell me that I’m below average and now they're looking up to me like some kind of God.. Geh, who cares? I know what you're about to ask, yes Itachi has been doing great so is Shisui. They actually missed you, ya know? To be honest I didn’t know you can actually make friends!” The Uchiha teased.

“You little- Tch, whatever. Shisui and Itachi are just cooler and nicer than you, dobe. I honestly feel bad because Shisui unlocked his Mangekyou so young.. Anyways, I have to go to headquarters.. Tell sensei that Danzo-sama is putting the silencing seal on me..”

“What?? Why is that bastard putting a seal on you!?” Obito asked.

“To make sure when I’m in Hogwarts that I won’t accidentally leak information. I got to go now, bye.” With that Kakashi disappeared in a swirl of leaves, leaving behind a confused Obito.

------

The next morning the five shinobi arrived at the Hokage’s office.

“All ready?” The teens nodded, “All right! This here is a portkey, it’ll bring you to Hogwarts. You leave in a few minutes. I’ll try to come to watch the first task. Goodluck!” Kurenai grabbed the portkey from Minato and held it out so the other could touch it, within a couple minutes they felt this tug. Their stomachs twisted painfully and before they knew it, they were standing in an office.

“Ah hello, you must be the shinobi Minato sent?” A man that kind of looked like the Third and wore very weird clothes asked.

“Yes, you must be Dumbledore-sama.” Kakashi said.

“Indeed I am, the other school will be arriving soon. Think of an entrance for yourselves.” With that Dumbledore left his office.

(Yeah I got lazy here)

“So.. we need to make an youthful entrance?” Gai asked, confused.

“Yeah I think so, any ideas?” Kurenai asked the others.

“How about my Dynamic Entry?” Gai said with a bit of hopefulness in his voice.

Silence was everyone's reply, it honestly wasn’t a bad idea but they didn’t want to do it.

When Gai got no reply he looked sad but quickly reverted back to his usual smiling form.

“Kamui or a swirl of leaves?” Obito suddenly said.

“Kamui what’s that?” The other three looked confused.

“Kamui, our Mangekyou Sharingan ability.” Kakashi explained quickly.

“I don’t really understand but yeah Kamui could work, who's doing it?”

“I’ll teleport you guys one by one since I have bigger chakra reserves than Bakakashi over here. (''Tch, we know dobe.” said Kakashi.) Anyways, since we are Konoha shinobi, Kurenai since you're the genjutsu specialist here, could you put a genjutsu of leaves and stuff?”

“Sure! That could work!” exclaimed Kurenai.

------

“Aha! Unless I am very much mistaken, the delegation from Beauxbatons approaches!” They heard Dumbledore call out.

“Where?” said many of the Hogwarts students, all looking in different directions.

“There!” Harry heard one of the sixth years yell.

They looked over to where the sixth year pointed, the forest, to see something much larger than a broomstick.

“It’s a dragon!” shrieked one of the first years.

“Don’t be stupid.. It’s a flying house!” said Dennis Creevey.

As the gigantic black shape skimmed over the treetops of the Forbidden Forest, they saw a gigantic, powderblue, horse-drawn carriage, the size of a house, soaring toward them, pulled through the air by a dozen winged horses, all palominos, and each the size of an elephant.

The three front rows of students drew backward as the carriage hurtled ever lower, coming in to land at a tremendous speed, then, with an almighty crash it landed.

A boy in pale blue robes jumped down from the carriage, bent forward, fumbled for a moment with something on the carriage floor, and unfolded a set of golden steps. He sprang back respectfully.

Dumbledore started to clap; the students, following his lead, broke into applause too, many of them standing on tiptoe, the better to look at this woman.

Harry watched as Dumbledore communicated with the woman - Madame Maxime - then noticed that dozens of boys and girls, in their late teens, had emerged from the carriage and now standing behind Madame Maxime.

They stood, waiting for the Drumstrang party to arrive. A couple minutes had passed in silence, aside from Madame Maxime’s huge horses snorting and stamping.

“Can you hear something?” Ron said suddenly.

Harry listened then,

“The lake!" yelled Lee Jordan, pointing down at it. "Look at the lake!”

From their position at the top of the lawns overlooking the grounds, they had a clear view of the smooth black surface of the water. Some disturbance was taking place deep in the center; great bubbles were forming on the surface, waves were now washing over the muddy banks -and then, out in the very middle of the lake, a whirlpool appeared, as if a giant plug had just been pulled out of the lake's floor....

What seemed to be a long, black pole began to rise slowly out of the heart of the whirlpool...and then Harry saw the rigging....

"It's a mast!" Harry said to Ron and Hermione.

Slowly, the ship rose out of the water. Finally with a great sloshing noise, the ship emerged entirely, bobbing on the turbulent water, and began to glide toward the bank. A few moments later, they heard the splash of an anchor being thrown down in the shallows, and the thud of a plank being lowered onto the bank.

Harry watched as Professor Karkaroff and Dumbledore talked and waited to see when the final school will arrive.

“Harry! It’s Krum!” said Ron in a stunned voice.

They continued talking until they felt a gush of wind and everyone went quiet.

Harry wondered how the students of Konoha Academy of Magic would appear, because no one could top the other two school’s arrival.

A bunch of leaves flew by, which surprised everyone because there were no trees or bushes anywhere. The leaves seemed to dance around and then they saw something like a hole in the Earth and then a girl with red eyes appeared out of it. It happened four other times then the leaves stopped and disappeared into thin air. Everyone was speechless because was that apparition, warping or some kind of Dark Magic?

In the front of the Great Hall stood the five weird people they had ever seen.

One was the girl, she had some mesh under her skirt and some slippers, she looked about their age. One of the guys had a bowl-cut and was wearing green spandex - it looked like a tank top version? - a red scarf thing and this green vest. The other guy was wearing a navy blue long sleeve with a red swirl symbol on the shoulders. He wore the same green vest and navy blue pants and sandals with bandages on his legs and on bandages on his pants with a pouch, and in his mouth was… wait is that a cigarette?? He’s about their age and he’s smoking? The guy next to him was wearing the same thing except of the red swirls, it was like a blue diamond with a red semi-circle, and a white semi-circle with a line connected to it. He had gloves and the right side of his face had scars on it. What could’ve happened to make those scars? The final guy had the weirdest hair ever. It was silver and defying gravity, he was wearing a blue tank top that connected to this mask on his face. He had silver like armour on him. His bottom half was similar to the other two, on his shoulder was a weird red tattoo. Why did he have a tattoo? He wore fingerless gloves with metal armour on them. One thing they all had that was similar was the head band with the metal plate and this swirly symbol. The girl had it on her head, the bowl-cut boy had it on his waist, the one with the cigarette also wore it on his head, the one with the scars wore it on his head but there was this part of it the covered his left eye, and the silver one had his slanted over his left eye and his right eye was the only thing visible on his face. These wizards were odd..

“Sorry, I think we’re late. We got lost on the path of life.” They heard the silver one say.

“Tch, the black cat one is better.” The one with scars said. The other three chuckled.

“Welcome, students of Konoha Academy of Magic! Take a seat.” said Dumbledore.
