Lucifer, the First Dreamer
Charlie paced in one of the hotel rooms. She was calling her father only he wasn't answering. He usually responded straight away when his darling daughter called.
She stared at his contact photo. The explanation Cain and Eve gave her for her father's treatment and approach to the sinners made sense, but still, it hurt. It hurt that her father saw everything that the sinners did as a result of his dreaming and rebellion.
Lucifer allowed angels to come down every year because he deemed every murder, every theft and every single sin these sinners committed as his fault. He couldn't see that he was just as responsible for the winners ascending to Heaven as he was responsible for the sinners descending to Hell. He couldn't see how much Eve didn't regret eating that apple, couldn't see what his dream meant for Eve.
Her father couldn't see how Eve had embraced Hell. He couldn't see how for Eve and Cain, Hell was a blessing. This pit that was most's punishment was their salvation, their happily ever after. Lucifer couldn't see without Hell, Eve would be nothing but the embodiment of Lilith's worst nightmare.
He couldn't see the day, Eve didn't eat the apple was the day, Heaven won. The day Eve didn't eat that apple was the day, she would've chosen Hell. She would've chosen endless pain and sadness if she hadn't eaten that apple.
Perhaps her father couldn't see it that way, but Charlie could. She met Adam, met the so-called best of humanity and she wouldn't be lying if she said she wasn't impressed in the slightest. Charlie would dare to say she was horrified that this was humanity's best. She had met sinners far more polite and worthy of redemption than that dimwitted angel.
Charlie's eyes widened when she saw her father answering the call. She calmed herself down before repeating the speech she and Eve had practised.
"Dad, it has come to my attention that you need to set up a meeting with Heaven. They have been breaking the agreement between Hell and Heaven for centuries. Cain and Eve can tell you more. They have been doing everything in their power to prevent casualties, but even their best effort seems like nothing when you look at the numbers. Hellborn demons have fallen to angelic arms in the thousands annually. That would be in the billions, perhaps even trillions with how long angels have come down to Hell to kill sinners yearly," Charlie informed.
Lucifer stared at the phone in his hand. Charlie didn't say what he thought she did, right? Hell couldn't be so broken that no one noticed hellborn demons die at that rate. He knew the Ars Goetia were bigoted bastards but to the point, they couldn't see the lower-class demons falling to angelic arms as a threat to their safety as well was ridiculous.
"Eve has brought this to the attention of the Ars Goetia. Many have offered to assist you in this meeting. It would be wise to have someone well spoken, high ranked and respected by your side during this meeting. She has suggested Prince Stolas. He is the only Goetia she is aware of that has a relationship with one of the lower class. He has also been known to treat the lower class demons with any degree of respect. Yes, a low bar but Eve has made it clear, this is a miracle given how Goetias would've spoken of the lower class around him during his youth," Charlie resumed informing.
"I'll set one up immediately, Charlie. Thank you for informing me of this," Lucifer thanked.
