There was a certain domesticity to Carmilla’s life that she hadn’t had since her daughters had left. She and Sera would wake up, have breakfast, go to their respective work, come back home, have dinner, make love, and then go to bed. Rinse, repeat.

But it didn’t feel boring to Carmilla. She loved the simplicity of their lives. She had never felt more peaceful. And to think she would have to wait until her afterlife to truly start living the way she wanted.

They would go out on weekends, have dinner with Clara and Odette, and fine they did go on that double date with Charlie and Vaggie and it wasn’t that bad!

Carmilla had even started teaching Sera how to dance. Her girlfriend had gotten curious when she saw Carmilla’s ballet studio and she had explained her love for the dance and other classic ballroom dances. Sera had begged her to dance for her and Carmilla, never being able to deny her anything, danced ballet for her and then offered to teach her so they could dance together.

Rosie had been offended that Carmilla had never offered to teach her how to dance. Sera was smug that entire afternoon.

It was rare for Carmilla to truly have a day off. Meetings could take place any day at any time. After all, there was no shortage of violence in Hell, the sinners demanded weapons and Carmilla was happy to oblige. So when Carmilla woke up and checked her calendar one morning, she was shocked to see not a single meeting scheduled for the day.

Deciding to be a little selfish, Carmilla put her phone away and slipped right back into bed with Sera.

Sera snuggled up to her again, her wings resuming their usual position. “You’re back?”

Carmilla kissed her horn and wrapped her arms around her. “Mjm, no meetings. Means we can sleep in.”

Sera hummed in contentment. “That sounds nice.”

Carmilla relaxed into her embrace and began to drift off.

“Carmilla?”

Carmilla hummed in response.

“I love you.”

Carmilla smiled and opened her eyes to gaze at Sera. “Y yo a tí, mi amor.”

And Sera beamed at her.
